No shortage of ways to do things in the towing industry. You could give that job to 5 different drivers and they might all do it differently and come out with the same outcome.
I used to work at a tow company with my dad for 16 years and I never seen that before that's cool me and my dad would use two different trucks but that's a new one for me I don't know if I would remember how to operate a tow truck I use to go with him and other drivers
The cool thing about this industry is that there are multiple ways to do everything. You could have given that job to several different operators, and they each could have done it a different way.
Kinda sorta. You have to walk that truck with the wheellift, and it doesn’t like doing that on the heavier trucks, so it’s easier to winch the truck under the casualty. With the truck I’m driving now, I probably would have walked it.
Thanks! I have several more video’s already scheduled to most every other day for a while, the next one is a car that hit an apartment building on NYE, and the few after that are pretty bad wrecks.
i used to do that alot a Old c6500 that was a manual and had pull Pto, but these new Ram 5500 trucks with automatic transmissions have to be in park so Pto can be on. Company has a MV like that ill have to see if it can do that.
I hate that method, It works but I will never leave my truck able to free roll to winch it under another vehicle, There are so many other ways to do that without leaving your truck unoccupied and free rolling should the winch give out, I'd much rather skate the rear axle, let it roll and chain or strap it in place, walk the bed under the truck rather than winching the truck, etc.
Not my favorite method either, but it was level ground, so I wasn’t too concerned. It was the fastest way to get it loaded without causing extra damage. The cops were already getting pretty impatient, so I wasn’t about to take the time to do all the extra work.
Or just in a rush lol I’m going to take it that you haven’t watched many of my videos. I almost never go into the truck, or customers vehicle with gloves on, and my truck is normally just short of spotless inside. This particular job, I was in a hurry trying to clear the road, and literally only went into the cab to work the air brakes.
The man is very good do his job and he is very carefull ,he drive flatbed tow truck on flatbed.good job.

So basically you walked the bed but in reverse like instead of walking it to get it off you walked it to get it on kinda

Neat trick loading the dead ram.
You do such a good job how long you been doing this have a good day
Thanks! Only been running wreckers for 2 years, but I’ve been around the industry for around 10 years now.
There is no neutral or park…the drive shaft is out. It will roll regardless
Impressive,
Dustin did the driver of the truck break the rear axle too ? Bc the way it was sitting on your bed It look that way ?
No the got T-boned and it broke the axle off the leaf springs.
@@Towtruck_Dustin ouch that is going to be a expensive bill
Morning!!!
And the heavier the vehicle the harder it is to do that
Luckily that truck has rollers on the end of the bed, so I don’t have to lift very high.
good job..
Thanks!
Great job. When you doing it like that. Your truck is in Neutral?
Yes. Technically these trucks don’t have a “park” unless the air brakes are set. Which is what I was doing when I pulled the yellow button.
You ever afraid of a bad accident you come up on and you know the person or persons?

Get the front wheels on the bed tilt the bed down back the truck up till you touch the back axle the drop bed down and load it

No 👎 te preocupes que no
Going inside the cab with your gloves on just says your a dirty driver

Why didn't you just back the truck up out of the roadway
Back it out of the roadway? Without an axle or driveshaft attached? Lol
