Thank you for these tutorials! I have wanted to make an autumn arrangement with my artificial fall leaves, but didn't know what to do with them. They will make great Shin and Soy for my mostly orange Imari vase. I haven't chosen the flowers yet, but I'm thinking about something yellow. 👍😄🍁🍁🌻
Thank you so much 先生! As a teacher myself (but in foreign languages) I can really say you are a fabulous teacher : you are really talented at explaining things step by step with patience, benevolence and encouragement. The way you explain the reason for doing this or that is very valuable : I'm that kind of person who needs to understand the reasons and aims behind a rule, I just can't follow a rule blindly, I need to understand, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here ^_^. I'm so happy I've discovered your videos ! They are also really welcome in these times when all cultural institutes are closed. Can't wait to start practising ikebana thanks to you!
Hi Carol, thank you for your kind words. Not only in teaching, but for every communication, I always think of who has a burden of proof. Especially these days, it is becoming all the more important to think about what to do to make yourself understood by the other party. As teachers, let's keep on trying our best!
Thank you so much mam.Inspite of watching so many videos on ikebana, this is the first one where your explanation was v.clear.I now understand the basics of using sogie.thank you
During the lesson in Seattle I tried arranging in a vase again. It was very inspiring for me. Dear Akemi, thank you very much. I am looking forward to meeting you on next lesson - on line. Yours Sincerely Lenka. :-)
This is the best of any instructional video on Ikebana I've seen. I especially like this style of flower arranging as the finished bouquet radiates peace, calmness and tranquility to the viewer. I have only a few flowers and shrub branches available to me from my yard year around, and this is a perfect combination of art and beauty for me to enjoy. Thank you
Hi Judy, Thank you for your kind words. You don't need many flowers. Space between two branches is also an important factor for Ikebana. Please enjoy the flowers all year round!
Wonderful, clear explanations make this video a model tutorial. Step-by-step instructions make principles easy to understand and encourage a novice to study and practice.
I have just tried this style at the Sogetsu school in Tokyo and failed miserably 😳. Your video helps me a lot to better understand Naigere style of ikebana. I like the energy you created with your arrangement. Thank you so very much.
Thank you Sagawa sensei for sharing your knowledge to help me create art with ikebana. Chrysanthemum is my mother's birthday flower and mine as well. Take care, I send my happiness to you and I send my gratefulness to God :)
Hi Lenka, Thank you for joining my classes. I know it's not easy because of time difference, but you are so eager to learn. I appreciate your diligence!
Thanks for sharing, very inspiring. Will the flowers still absorb water after it's bent? Whether the flower bent is submerged under water or should be placed just above water level?
@@ILoveIkebana Mam I liked your video.I want to know whether Hikae and it's jushis should face in front that is towards us only or Hikae has to be facing the right side at 75 degrees as you have shown in the video? As I have heard all the flowers should face to us?Whai is correct? I am Ajaya Mallya.

Good morning, I have just started watching your beginner tutorial and find them interesting. I have one question, what kind of stick do you use for the supporting stick? Thank you. Alice O
Normally you simply cut from the same branch that you use for your arrangement. You might want to keep it if that works for you.
Could you please tell me if I have to change the water daily. Thank you
Hi Didi,
It's not necessary to change water every day, but make sure you top off so that the tips of the flowers always under water. Happy Ikebana!
how long does ikebana flower endures? and can i make it with syntetic flower?
It depends upon the flowers. Some last only a couple days, some last over a week.
