Thank you so much for this. I took (and failed. go me) a 3D animation class last semester in Maya and I hated how technical everything had to be. "Don't extend twice" "Never have non-agons" "Always start with basic shapes" "Only have 8 edges for circles" "Never have triangles" so this has really helped fuel me into a new found perspective to try 3D modeling again. Nothing has to be this technical if you're just having fun.
Elliot! If you ever want to get glass working in Eevee, you go to the main properties panel on the right-hand side and click on the tab with the little camera icon, tick the box for "Screen Space Reflections" and then "Refraction" in its little dropdown menu, and then go to your glass material and tick the "Screen Space Refraction" checkbox under the "Settings" dropdown, along with setting the "Blend Mode" dropdown menu to "Alpha Blend." I hope that helps if you ever feel like you have a glass Cycles scene that's too much for your computer!
I’m loving the aspect ratio on your newer vids. I have a 12.9 inch iPad and you look freakin HUGE on it because it fills the entire screen. I love it Also, I am thoroughly impressed by your blender designs esp your self portrait!

nice topology is the key to good movement when you animate! Cozyblanket also really good for retopology and UV mapping. When making a VTubuer, you'll probably be using a unity / obs plugin, so pick your Vtuber software before you rig, saves a lot of headache

Actually, I've recently sculpted some wonky shapes in Medium (VR sculpting software), shaded in blender and printed on some fabric 👁👄👁 the possibilities are endless! good luck!
The ratio is so good for watching on ipads! I usually draw while watching TH-cam but I was too busy just staring at the screen thinking about how cool it looks! Good job in learning so much so fast as well from a fellow blender noob :)

love how completely opposite your experience is to mine's. i HATE blender. it's the hardest thing i have ever had to learn by far. every time i make something in it it's a chore and my progress is very slow and stilted because the explanations to the problems i have seem complex and convoluted to my brain. i'm learning it out of stubborness because i really want to do 3d.
i also didnt do the donut because there were so many vids. my first blender render was some sci fi scene and it was quite easy to follow. i love the first self portrait 😂
i remember seeing everyone at uni using blender n though meh how hard can it be..i opened it within 20 minutes it was closed n i havent opened it again
