@@Fritz_Maisenbacher A lot of people will do exactly that, cough in the middle of a pause because they think it doesn't disturb the music, since no notes are being played xD
Well to be fair, I know this is an older comment but when someone is playing loud it's much more difficult to hear the coughing. But i will remember this rule when If I have the gift to get to 80 years old
Coughing is a typical agression against a musician. Absolutely conscient and willingly destructive. A simple handkerchief could avoid the trouble to 80 %. But this never occurs, of course.
@@zangdaarrmortpartout I repeat : these type of coughing, extremely loud and demonstrative, is a perfect agression against the musician. Conscient and coming from a silly and negative soul which is unable to accept the beauty of the instant, and , AND : who wants to SPOIL the moment of others in the public. And for the handkerchief : are you a real fool ? Please stop your nonsenses. Or, last warning, try it at home. And tell me.
@@zangdaarrmortpartout Coughing is technically a reflex but also under some voluntary control, you can definitely avoid coughing. I've had tears in my eyes because I was withholding a cough during a performance, it is so rude in my opinion to cough during a concert, the silence in which the music is played is the equivalent of the white paper a painter draws on, and to disturb that is like putting paint on the artist white paper.
All I can say is that coughing has been an unavoidable side effect of live concert audiences. It happens, people buy the tickets weeks in advance, and that day all of a sudden you have a cold and cough. I'd feel like I'm going to die if I miss something like this. So please Ms. Yuya Wang excuse this person and millions more who may have a cold when you play... And all the other pianists out there!🙏
I think I have found a law of coughing during a concert:
the gentler and more pianissimo the passage, the louder the coughing
EXACTLY ! And that explains why the coughing is a perfect agression.

Her hiding her lips to keep from laughing is so accurate! 😂

The way she rolled her eyes lmfao she’s so iconic if I were her I would’ve fucking slammed the keys and hope they had a heart attack ❤

Still trying to understand why people don't cough in their elbow to muffle it.

Coughing is a reflex, you can't avoid it.
How you think an handkerchief can prevent coughing or absorb sound is beyond the limits of my comprehension

The coughing has become a social meme. So Horowitz and Wang have to wait for people whose contribution is hey look at me, I can cough!😂
Weird thing is… when you go to a movie theater, you never hear people coughing… I wonder why it’s always at a classical music concert
