Notes: A long weekend was enough in Doha and the only thing I didn’t get to see because I was short on time was the Box Park.
Doha is walkable in the central areas but you should still download either the Uber or Karwa app in case you need it.
Everyone speaks English.
I stayed in the Four Seasons West Bay hotel and it was amazing.
Public transport is cheap but food is generally expensive so be prepared!

This means SO much to me !! Thank you 😍 I’m planning a bunch of new and exciting destinations for this year so make sure to subscribe ! Have an amazing time in Doha 💜
Doha is where Past and Future meet. Innovative, modern, traditional, all in one. I just came back from a 1 week stay there and cannot put down in words how fantastic it was. If you are reading this comment and have interest in visiting Qatar, just go there, it is REALLY worthy a visit, you will be amazed!
So pleased to read you also had a good time there! Thanks for watching and have a great day :)
Loved your video! Thank you for the detailed information.
Thank you for your comment and for watching 😍

LOVE comments like this ! So motivating. Thank you so much and happy new year !!🥳🥳
I just came back from Qatar 🇶🇦 and it is a FANTASTIC country! There is so much to explore I could be a frequent visitor.
100% !
❤this vlog im going to Doha in a week THANK YOU!!
Yay ! That makes me so happy !
Are you in Doha now
A great video, thank you. I’m seriously thinking of a trip to Doha and Muscat for my erm, 50th next February. This video has made that idea even more likely. 🇶🇦🇴🇲
Love comments like these and LOVE that you're considering going there for your 50th ! I also have a video about Oman (Muscat is actually the first place I explored there), I went right after Doha last month and was blown away by Oman too so your idea is really good I think: th-cam.com/video/q_5KprSaU1k/w-d-xo.html
@@Kristinahouwer I’ve just watched it. Thank you 🤩
Very good video ! Thank you for sharing. I see Doha is a beautiful place to visit. I hope one day I will go to visit this wonderful city. I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you again for sharing. U get a new follower from 🇨🇦😁👍👍
Yay thanks very much ! So glad you enjoyed it
I have been to Doha a few times for 2/3 days stopovers to get to South East Asia, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles and other Arab speaking countries. I actually love this city - it is really good and clean. Done all the main sites there - Katara Cultural Village, Aspire Tower and Park, Doha skyline, National Museum, Museum of the Islamic Arts, The Pearl, Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahab Mosque, a day trip to the sea line desert, Katara Tower, Villagio Mall, Education City Mosque, Souq Waqif, Qanat Quartier etc.
I actually prefer staying in Doha rather than Dubai although Abu Dhabi is wonderful
So glad to hear you love it too. I agree - very clean and well maintained. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video :)
Doha looks quite impressive! I really like how clean and sharp everything looks there. I seriously will need to plan a trip there someday especially when I want to escape the winters in North America. Great video!
Clean and sharp is the perfect way to describe it 😃
Me moving to Doha to work as a Nurse while waiting for my EB3 visa. Retrogression is ongoing. My American Dream is still alive but for now keeping it lowkey.
Feliz Año Kristina, disfruto tus videos ❤
gracias!! Feliz Año!
Yes, Doha is amazing, The Cornish, Kataara Cultural Village and the Museums.
And as I say always, your vlogs make the place much more amazing and wonderful
Thank you , glad you enjoyed it !
Very nice impression of Doha! Can't wait to visit next december.
I think you’ll have an amazing time in December , so glad to hear you’ll be going too 😍☺️
I was just there !! I was really surprised how amazing it was !! !!
Me too !🤩
@@Kristinahouwer my name is the same as yours with a K 🤗I returned on the 16th from Qatar 👍very impressive can’t wait to go back ! I like Kuwait too 👍great channel good luck with everything ❤️
nice and cozy video 🚅 i forgot that i am fasting 👌💚
That’s a wonderful compliment , thank you 😘
Discreet and un advertised places in Qatar:
1-Al Saad aka Syria/Lebanon of Qatar. Great Levant restaurants and Hookah cafes.
2-Najma’s flee market and chapatis aka little India/Bangladesh of Qatar.
3-Shahania farm lands and camping resorts like Heenat Salma and Samarya.
Thank you ! 🤩☺️
Great video! Very informative. I’ve spent 24 hours walking around Dubai on a layover, but I’ve always been curious about Doha Qatar as well. Thanks for the video. I’ll have to incorporate a long layover there as well! 😁
Thanks for watching and for the comment :) I personally really enjoyed it and can definitely recommend a longer layover 😊
great video!
Thank you very much, appreciate it 🥰
OMG 😱 Amazing view 😍 I ❤️ qatar❤❤❤
Just gorgeous isn’t it !🥰
@@Kristinahouwer yes
@@Kristinahouwer will you be my friend 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
Doha is neat and clean in world ❤❤
I agree - extremely clean and pleasant ! I was even talking to a friend about this today 😊
I liked a lot!
🤩
Great video especially from the perspecive of a single female traveller , Doha is on my list of places to visit .🙂
This makes me so happy, thank you ! You’ll have a wonderful time when you go 😍
Qatar seems intriguing for retirement plan. Honest insights help understand the real picture.
That’s a great idea , haven’t even thought about it that way but you might be right !
@@Kristinahouwer you cannot get residency in Qatar unless you work there or buy a flat in The Pearl, the same Qanat Quartier including...
Qatar 🇶🇦 is one of the most innovative countries globally, and champions sustainability and clean tech ❤
Agree !😃
You were looking so Good wearing Abaya, 😍
Haha thank you
Nice video, thank you.
But traveling is boring how do you do it
Thanks for watching , I love to travel ! Never boring
Friday mornings before Friday prayer are the most quiet in Doha, even cafes and supermarkets close between 11am and 1pm. Then the Family day starts, when Corniche is full with people if it is cooler outside or everyone dashes to Malls in the summer heat. Quanat Quartier was built long before World Cup, people live there, cafes and shops are there. Yes, that's true that during World Cup there were water parades going on, there were parades on Lusail Boulevard also, and Al Bida Park on Corniche had match screening and disco parties going on, and Souq Waqif was were all fans from different countries met before or after the games, Corniche was closed for traffic, only pedestrians allowed, Metro was free for everyone.
Did you know that schools in Doha had extended winter holidays for the time of World Cup to reduce traffic on the roads and also so that children could attend the games!
Thanks for your comment and for watching ! An interesting overview 😍
@@Kristinahouwer I've been living in Doha for last 5 years. Safest place to live.
The souke was amazing for us. I think if you are single maybe you'll feel lonely like she did bit for families it's amazing. Also go at night not during the day like she did. Tons of great food there as well. Must see for sure. Who wants to see a mall when you go to qatar? Her take is very subjective
Thanks for watching and for your comment ! It’s great to get different points of view ☺️
Today I Visited Corniche Around 3:00 PM
I Really Loved It Very Much Because The Place Is On An Industrial Area And I Haven't Been Gone Outside For Like 9 Months
Next One I'm Going To Visit Is Lusail ❤.
So happy to hear you loved it ! It’s a wonderful place
Did you find it an issue filming on a vlogging camera?
I just used a GoPro for everything and found no issues at all
what are the taxi apps you mention?
Uber and Karwa :) both work really well.
@@Kristinahouwer Thankyou! Visiting there on 5th January.
Any must try things there?
@@manpreetseehraofficial for things to do: it’s all in the video ! I personally loved the downtown area , the corniche walk and the architecture of the national museum, followed by the blue mosque and qanat quartier. In terms of food, I actually didn’t try any traditional food this time but there are some great restaurants and lots of choice :)
Anyone knows how it goes with a visa for 1 night in doha ? We have a transit and booked an hotel
I didn’t need a visa with my EU passport
- I Love Qutar ❤
Me too🤩
Did you make it to AL Sanaiya aka industrial area where the Asian workers live
I didn’t this time
You trying to act as if Asian workers only allowed to live there, to shame Qatar.
A lot of Asians expats/workers from different financial classes live in Al Ryyan, Muaither, Aziziya, Waab, Al Saad, Wakrah and Al Khor.
Stay mad and stay hating.
@@NoMadKid 🤡
Your comment is hateful and misleading. Jealousy is a bad thing
Your video has inspired me to come to Doha. how easy is it to get a job in Doha?
Thats great ! I can’t tell you much about getting a job there because I was only there for a weekend
80+ % of people in Qatar are not Qatari so they do seem to hire quite a bit of outside help.
On which month have you been there? Thanks
End of December
Many thanks, would you recommand late end of feb?
Haven't been there in Feb myself but should be a great time to visit!@@naceramekharbeche
How can you shoot in the mosque? Its illegal, right?
No not at all , flash photography is frowned upon but regular GoPro shots that don’t bother anyone were not a problem there :)
both beautiful
Thank you
How did you manage to navigate doha alone without a guide, are you a resident?
Just LOTS of research beforehand !
You mentioned downtown - where is that? I look at Doha’s map and there’s no “downtown” designation. I see Old Town, Pearl City, etc..
Look for Msheireb Downtown Doha
I believe downtown is a term for the metro area, the busiest areas in Doha where you can access almost everything.
@@richjaneRN yes, so basically all the neighbourhoods near msheireb, some people call west bay downtown but it kinda is and kinda isn't
As a male who visited visited Doha a few times, I can say that I did feel quasi-uncomfortable wearing shorts in the mall. Just because I was the only one in them and it's a culturally conservative country and not much skin is seen as opposed to the US.
I loved the Souq Waqif but refused to go to the animal section since I am an animal lover. If you go to the Souq in the morning, you can get a cheaper price on things but not as many shops are open since the real time everyone shops is in the evening due to the heat.
I love Doha and consider it my second home.
That’s so cool you consider it your second home ! It’s certainly an amazing place with so much to offer 😍 thanks for watching
@@Kristinahouwer thank you for posting.
Kristina, is the most beautiful TH-camr on the entire platform, long live you and your loved ones.
Thank you!
UK is the unsafestt place in the world, excellent video,
Thank you for watching :)
@@Kristinahouwer you very welcome ,thank you for presenting xxx
Nice one . Chris and Kitty Liverpool England.
Thanks ☺️
There was no ned to modernize Souq Wakeef, it was just built.
Good to know ;)
Anything on Nepal 🇳🇵
Not yet but maybe one day !
It better look good, it was just built 🙂
😜
it's kind of telling that you were expecting something "backwards" !!
Doha definitely exceeded my expectations in the most amazing way !
But nice 👍
🥰
Habibi. Come to Malaysia. I treat you.
Thank you !
Da, v Evrope tozhe vse lomayut. A tut takogo net, vse prosto idealno.
Eto tochno! Ya mnogo slishala pro metro v Moskve, po foto oooochen' krasivo
😍👌🫶👌🫶😍
🤩
How about you focus on Qatar instead of yourself - no need to see you in all the video - step behind it and don't try to like listening to yourself so much - thumbs down
Thanks for your comment and sorry you didn’t like it , have a fab day ! 😘
Uae🇦🇪is better
Thank you for watching !🤩
How are the prices?
Public transport was cheap , taxis were the same as in Europe and food was expensive
