I won't fish anything that crowded. But out here some lakes and rivers have very limited access, like only a handfull of fishabke spots along the entire shore. If someones in a spot, i assess them first. They seem like they know what they're doing? What are they using, and what am i using? If ones top and ones bottom you can fish on top of each other with no issues. And ill ask if they mind if i take a couple of casts away from them. I don't think anyone has ever said no. Usually ends up with some fishing talk for a short bit. And then i say good luck and move on. You end up seeing a lot of the same people in the same places if you go a lot. Can form friendships.

Hate short format but like your vids. Hate strangers jumping on my lap because I got a tight line so I usually split. I prefer to fish right where they were, before hopping on my lap, and show them there's fish there too. And don't even get me started on my boy the Wolfman! Park up next to his boat and you better have Macho Man ready to fend him off. (No lies I witnessed him boarding a pair of unlucky tough talking guys' boat.)
I've had poachers just set up right next to me and start setting up multiple rods! People are just NFG! I've even had poachers set up next to me in the ocean next to my boat!
You have to get away from the parking areas. Bring a bike or expect to walk a distance to get away from the crowds. Sometimes I'll go behind Ma. Maritime or by their dock area just for some peace and quiet. I catch fish there also.
In S.E.Texas we call that combat fishing. It happens a lot on public fishing piers around sabine lake. I can't stand when people don't cast in front of themselves, instead some prefer to cast across multiple people and it's annoying
It's true if everyone knows how to fish It's not a problem. But when everyone is throwing similar lures and a few people throw something completely different then problems happen.....in my experience.
I just don’t get people sometimes. One of the best activities to relax the soul and have some nature time, but people always find a way to argue and piss each other off.

The same thing happens in Alaska everyone thinks Salmon fishing is awesome .... yeah until u show up and literally the entire river is shoulder to shoulder with ppl since it's the biggest tourist attractions
Back in the day,1963, my granpa used salted eal,on a tared hand line. Two hook. No crowd then.
It was that canal.
The old iron the hip works wonders for deterring yankees who feel froggy
Great Spot, been there when i was living in Rhode Island
Here in Alaska we call it combat fishing
The guys who start fights are the guys with a "rather be fishin" bumper sticker. But they only ever start fights with the eaters truing to catch a weeks worth of groceries. Please stop treating fishing holes like all you can eat buffets if you're not a catch and release fisherman. - PSA
Yeah, if you catch to eat thats cool but don't take like 3 buckets worth
That's why I bought a small bought and a Mini Kota.😂😂
You just left? Here in the Ozarks most folks have some pepper spray and a knife. It'd be a bad idea to butt in. There's more: Missouri has open carry. This even further discourages bad manners.
Did you know that spraying someone's reel with nail polish remover ruins their day?
Leaving is always a noble and ego reasonable way to avoid conflict 👍
Ive come to rely on music to keep people at healthy distances. Old hard reggae will break most.
i always save some food scraps. i chop them in the food processor and brew them up in a bucket with water, old milk, and any beer dribbles... then i take some of what's in the bucket fishing with me and tip a bit out in locations around me like rocks, path... when people turn up i tell them to "watch out for the spew around, i've been a bit crook lately"... the look on their face is enough... i only have to cough a bit and none of them want to fight about it. never had anyone stick around
Dealt with a dingo today. Some people think that starting a conversation is equivalent to asking if they can fish near you. Guy had 20km of coastline, sets up 20 feet from me. If I can hit you with a cast, you're too close (or I'm too close, it goes both ways).
Do you park at the beach and walk or walk from the marina parking lot?
What fishing rod do you use
In Cali in piers catching, Macarel will do that tangling to, and some kind of fight also erupts
You can open carry when fighing 😁 no morefights😊 nice catch
I go to the massachusetts maritime academy down the end of the canal. come down and fish here whenever you want. fish running thru very soon. never too busy like most spots during the run
You should try combat fishing on ship creek in anchorage for king salmon, once saw a guy get beat nearly to death over a fish
fish northwest rivers elbow to elbow have to cast from over your back drift fishing and the casting order is mandatory!
when you all get in cenk it's a beautiful song.
other days someone gets thrown in the river.
I live on cape cod. Canal is filled with so many trashy people. Fall River and New Bedford scum coming down. Can’t pay me to go there when it’s busy like that.
I hate fishing on weekends
Bro if i had that happen to me im throwing hands😤
What rod do you use? I’m looking to get into striper fishing and I want to know what power rod to buy
Ugly Stik “Striper” pole. Reasonably priced and never had an issue.
"Oh look that guy got a nice fish. Maybe if I fish there I'll get one. Oi fucker, move over!" Sigh people.....
I live in Wyoming. I cant for the life of me imagine 2 people coming up next to me because they saw i caught a fish. What a horrible environment and set of values people have where you are.
Hate when people fish on top of you when there's plenty of space. I usually just move though
"thyen a fight broke out"
average Massachusetts experience
Hate short format but like your vids. Hate strangers jumping on my lap because I got a tight line so I usually split. I prefer to fish right where they were, before hopping on my lap, and show them there's fish there too. And don't even get me started on my boy the Wolfman! Park up next to his boat and you better have Macho Man ready to fend him off. (No lies I witnessed him boarding a pair of unlucky tough talking guys' boat.)
Actually stopped fishing the canal after 10 or so years last year because it’s too populated. People are trash at the canal
Their trash….period!
If you switch to braided you can snap other people's lines if you have a fish on a hook
In AUS same problem even with spearfishos, but then they retrieve lost lures and throw em up 🤣
Man ice fishing is a whole different animal!
Why would anyone fight a fisherman in Florida? Its like asking to get mag dumped.
I’ve seen people hacked up and fed to pigs (prior LEO) for less than what some idiots do on the lake to other people. It’s mind boggling.
And....................... sure enough
I've had poachers just set up right next to me and start setting up multiple rods! People are just NFG! I've even had poachers set up next to me in the ocean next to my boat!
“Don’t be there” Mr Miyagi self defense class
Combat fishing. Happens all the time during salmon season in Michigan.
You have to get away from the parking areas. Bring a bike or expect to walk a distance to get away from the crowds. Sometimes I'll go behind Ma. Maritime or by their dock area just for some peace and quiet. I catch fish there also.
What rod and reel do you use for stripers
Perhaps sport fishing and sport fighting can be combined into a new sport for all to enjoy? You might be on to something.
a good strong back hander normally puts the bullies in check.
In S.E.Texas we call that combat fishing. It happens a lot on public fishing piers around sabine lake. I can't stand when people don't cast in front of themselves, instead some prefer to cast across multiple people and it's annoying
From what I’ve heard the canal can get pretty frisky!! Great spot for big striper though!!
