Patrick, you will ALWAYS be "Bobby Ewing", no matter what role you play...same goes for Victoria Principal. You two were THE couple, everyone loved. Me, being the hopeless romantic...every time I watched Dallas and saw a scene of Bobby and Pam together, I PRAYED it'll be a scene of reconciliation and restoration of their love...and then...YAY! 👏😃 🥰 it HAPPENED ! The night Bobby went to see Pam and asked her to marry him again...ogh MAGICAL ! Love conquers all ! ❤
I agree with you when I see dearest Bobby and Pamela my heart is broken that they not together. This good combination is too good, soft, true love romantic, no words to describe. So taching they together so beautiful both.Just craing I looking this episodes where they together ❤️. 😢😢😢😢😢
Um dos meus actores preferidos.... sou portuguesa e amei ver Dallas.... só lamento Victoria Principal não seguir até ao fim da seria...eram o casal maravilha da série
2:54... it was a mastermind alliance, the chemistry of love that created the magic, the same phenomenon as the success of the Beatles and ABBA !... a mysterious dynamic that assures success. What a decent man Patrick Duffy is.
He is 100% correct about nobody could play the Patriarch and Matriarch but Jim Davis and Barbara Bel Geddes. Jim Davis couldn’t ever been replaced after his death because of what he brought to the role and the way the fans loved him. Same thing with Barbara Bel Geddes as Miss Ellie. When she left in 1984 for health reasons, the role was recast with Donna Reed and it didn’t work. The fans wanted Barbara back because nobody else could play her role.
So interesting that a series starts out with a certain view and then shifts direction because of one person standing out. I'm currently watching the show, 1/4 into season 4 now. I'm 54 now and remember seeing the 1st episode back in the day and quite a few after that (being too young actually 🤣). I remember Afton, Priscilla Presley and Pam eventually having a new man, Mark (with big moustache if I'm not mistaken. And Miss Ellie with a new man.....character name was Clayton? Anyway, I never saw the whole run, big fun watching this (again). And I remember as a kid not very much liking Sue Ellen for whatever reason. But now much older I see all her mannerisms, the looks, the facial expressions, her lips, very insecure hand movements and realize just how damn well Linda Grey did her job as an actress....so much fun, that poor character Sue Ellen 🤣. And of course Larry Hagman.....probably tv's best 'villain' ever. That great sadistic smile. I'm laughing so much seeing him scheme and just being a bastard, it's hilarious! 🤣 And I saw Man from Atlantis, loved it as a kid....I watched everything (slightly) sci-fi back then....and still. So seeing Duffy as Bobby was special. And Victoria Principal was always dropdead gorgeous, she kickstarted those hormones when I was like 9 or 10 back then. 🤣
Because she wasn't at the reading for that. She came in as a solo to read the part of Pam. He said, when he saw all the ladies who read the script for Pam. The moment she walked in, he immediately wanted her to be chosen as Pam.

Great interview.
Quiet a sophisticated and eloquent man. How many actors achieve this level of complex understanding of what it is to be a master of his craft.
I'm here for "Man From Atlantis". I'm pretty disappointed as you can imagine. I loved that show.

thats what im here for, i didnt watch that soap opera nonsense that everyone else is talking about. mwa hah hah hah
He's also the left leg of Scuzzlebutt.
Funny early on he mentions all the cast by name apart from Victoria. Sad!
I noticed that???
