    Hello Amara, does the question about working to support yourself on campus and the response apply to students with full funding and GAships?

    • @AmaraOsuji
      @AmaraOsuji  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Great question. No it does not. If you already have funding then you can say that. This point is for people who plan to go look for on campus employment when they arrive and this is their entire financial plan.

      Honestly this is really tough. 14 years is a very long time. I’d say apply to a university and who knows, if you package your application properly, you might get some funding. I can’t say anything concrete about the possibility of getting a scholarship because I don’t work on any admissions team.

      If you’re talking about proof of funds to get your I20, all you need is a little over your cost of attendance because even if you have a lot more than that, your I20 is only going to show that you have enough to cover the cost of attendance.

      You can say that but it might be even better to say what type of freelance work you do. So, instead of just saying "I'm a freelancer", you can say "I'm an editor/copywriter/photographer" whatever the case might be for you. That way, you don't leave room for guesswork.

      You don’t need to pay any cash to anyone if your visa is approved. You actually don’t need any cash in the embassy proper. However, you will need cash if you plan to store your phone/personal belongings outside the embassy or if you need to print something which you forgot.
