I just got my license after chucking one of these around a parking lot for a weekend... such a joyful little machine even when I was screwing up gear-shifts or letting off the clutch too fast.

I totally agree with keeping a grom as a 2nd bike. I've owned many bikes and jumping back on a small bike to cruise back roads is the best. Other great contenders would be small super motos or duel sports.

I am loving my new 2023 Grom. The only complaint is the 50 pound exhaust😂 but 80-200$ and you got yourself a lighter louder pipe. Its obviously personal pref but the 80-100$ ebay exhaust is just fine. Dont think you are about to gap anything but again a 125 thats 50mph+ on avg isnt bad. Also 50 mph looks a lot better on the grom than a moped😂

Kind of off topic, but I get a lot of looks and questions about my '22 Super Cub. I put quite a bit of money into it to "make it mine" and it ended up looking like mini touring bike :D

The rear shock does NOT have preload adjustment. What you get stock is what you get. If you want to make any adjustments, be it compression, rebound, or preload, you have to swap to an aftermarket shock.

Had a 2014 Grom in 2014 when they came out, it was my only bike. Did many long trips with it, just took longer to get there. Don't like highways anyway 😂
Sold it when I bought my 2017 Yamaha FZ09, the FZ was a blast but too much for my needs, missed the Grom too much so I sold it to buy a Honda CB300R. The CB300R is a big Grom that does highways, fun, light, nimble. Crashed the CB300R last year, ran into a deer at 90kmh. The bike didn't survive the crash.
After one year without a bike I decided to buy a new Grom. Back to having fun at low cost, parking where ever.
For some it's a second bike, to me it's great for everything even travel. Rather chill and ride
