Have a Porsche Macan turbo, it’s been the best car experience on every data point, including maintenance, no unexpected repairs and still sailing at 95k. Would 💯 buy again.
@David-d4k9k Are these the same guys complaining about the economy not being any good ? Most of us that are invested in the stock market are doing quite well but if you bought something that you can't afford, it's your own fault for being so damn stupid.
You hit the nail on the head. These cars look good on paper but in real life not so much. Two best days of a BMW owner - the day you pick it up and the day you get rid of it.
I ended up with an IS500. It's pretty well behaved, albeit it feels a bit ancient. I couldn't really rationalize buying something that was just about guaranteed to have issues. It's funny that no one takes service costs into account until they're forced to.
What I have been wanting is one of those Lincoln Continentals (generation ‘17-20) but the 2.7 or 3.0… the cheaper 3.7 models have the water pump in the engine.
My model S performance has 189,000 miles on the original battery, original brakes, free supercharging for life. Just to the 2100 mile road trip for free. I’ll never go back to gas. Plus I can smoke almost every gas car out there.
My friend was a regional service representative for BMW for 30 years. Every time we got together, he reminded me: NEVER BUY A BMW. NEVER.

Just wait until something goes wrong and it costs more to fix the car than it's worth.
Half these performance cars owe their existence to men’s mid life crisis.
Ah, a bit of jealousy because you can’t afford one.

Every car you mentioned is expensive enough that the owners won't care about maintenance costs. Pay the cost to be the boss.

Here’s what we’ll never buy again.
BMW
Jeep
Alfa Romeo
Volkswagen
Everyman Driver, why did you not mention the hellcat or the twin turbo Tundra's? They will be money pits when they break down
Toyota is getting worse too.. Dealership wanted to charge 8k for a clutch job.
Hmm.. Consumer Report and JD Power ranked Porsche and BMW very highly. The B58 engine is stout. You just lost some credibility.
And like maintenance is a mystery?😮
B58 is king

I wonder the difference in expense of owning a performance car over a performance horse.
They're the same - You have to put up with a lot of crap.

What do I want? WHY do I want it? And more important than if I can afford it, is do I NEED it?
I totally agree with all this. You want incredible performance with stunning reliability and no maintenance? Get a Tesla.
Only thing wrong with Tesla is Elon Musk.
