Thank you and thanks for watching! It was the lazy man’s hot chicken sandwich haha. I have some other chicken recipe videos that would also make killer sandwiches!
No problem! Thank you for watching! It’s hard to get crispy skin on an offset. I do have a crispy skin chicken thigh episode on the channel. Made an awesome sandwich with them too if you want to check it out. The skin was crispier in that video, but not 100% perfect.
Definitely agree! Was a bummer that the skin wasn’t super crispy for this chicken, but that wasn’t the main goal. I do have a crispy skin chicken thigh video if you want to check it out!
@@harrythehorsebbq thanks I'll check it out. also try using a vortex. that really makes it crispy. its a ring that you put coal in, then you put chicken on outside of ring, get temp to 500, spray chicken with butter or oil every 10 minutes and flip every 10 minutes. done in 40 minutes or when internal is 150. 150 is a little low, but it climbs and will always b juicy
I definitely hear that! I just moved into my house when I filmed this video so I didn’t have much haha. Now that I have a vacuum sealer, I save just about everything
@@harrythehorsebbq it’s probably just an old wives’s tale, grandma did it, so I do it too. It’s also probably more for farm butchered chickens to make sure all the excess blood, guts and other things are rinsed off before cooking.
Yeah it’s definitely not as cheap as it used to be. If you check out my Alabama white chicken quarters episode, I got a lot of chicken for like $5 so not too shabby
Chicken thighs can take a bit more temperature though. The white meat should be pulled off of the heat source between 155 and 160 for perfectly juicy chicken
I’m pretty sure this is an old wives tale. Either way, cooking the chicken to 185-190 internal temp kills the bacteria. To each their own though! Clean your chicken if you want to
I appreciate you watching the video! This was an older video on the channel. However, I do find value in explanations and detail to help any and all viewers. TH-cam shorts, Instagram reels, and tik tok videos are short form content you can check out if you would like quicker explanations
Finally, someone that smoked their chicken instead of boiling them in butter and calling them smoked. Thank You.
No problem haha I’ve never heard of that technique. I’m gonna have a crispy chicken thigh video dropping soon so check that one out too!
That sammich looked outstanding!
Much appreciated! I made an even better sandwich in my crispy skin chicken thigh video if you want to check that one out!
Mannnn that looks delicious!!! The sandwich idea is BOSS!!!
Thank you and thanks for watching! It was the lazy man’s hot chicken sandwich haha. I have some other chicken recipe videos that would also make killer sandwiches!
Wow what a great looking sandwich ! I’ll take 2 !
Definitely a worthwhile sandwich to make!
Ty for being honest about the rubbery skin. I still can't get a crispy skin on smoked thighs. The search continues.

Lets go harry
Much appreciated! I’ll have a revisited crispy chicken thigh recipe coming out eventually so make sure to check that one and other vids out!
Looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much appreciated! I gotta do more chicken thigh videos
Gotta do that sando
Such a good tasting sandwich! And so easy to throw together! Thanks for watching!
oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
need a good 20 minutes at 425 for crispy skin, so when chicken hits 120, crank it to 425 for at lest 20min
Definitely agree! Was a bummer that the skin wasn’t super crispy for this chicken, but that wasn’t the main goal. I do have a crispy skin chicken thigh video if you want to check it out!

Maybe no water pan if you're trying to crisp skin ?
Did I use a water pan during this cook? Haha yeah, that would be a good idea if you want some crispy skin for sure 🤙🏻
We need see a pot roast video with a brisket. (Nice hair cut)
No pot roast! I can do some chopped beef sandwiches or something. Pot roast is gross.
@@harrythehorsebbq first off it is a chopped cheese, what is gross about pot roast it is soft wet beef with soft wet vegetables. Lol
Make Chicken Skin Jerky out of the left over Chicken Skin...
NEVER throw away Chicken skin...
I definitely hear that! I just moved into my house when I filmed this video so I didn’t have much haha. Now that I have a vacuum sealer, I save just about everything
@@harrythehorsebbq
EXACTLY
Which Vacuum Sealer do you use?
I use a MEAT! 16” vacuum sealer and it does a pretty darn good job 🤙🏻
Don’t sleep on the Alabama white sauce for chicken.
I definitely didn’t sleep on it! Go check out my Alabama white chicken video!
Tried your recipe and the family loved it! You also scored a few extra bonus points for the 70's porn music!! 🤣
I love hearing that! Glad your fam loved some easy smoked chicken thighs. And I’ll take the porn music as a compliment haha
LAWRY"S!!!!!!!!
Looks awesome, gotta rinse that chicken with cold water first though.
I am always cautious about washing poultry because I don't want to spread chicken juice everywhere. What does the rinsing do?
@@harrythehorsebbq it’s probably just an old wives’s tale, grandma did it, so I do it too. It’s also probably more for farm butchered chickens to make sure all the excess blood, guts and other things are rinsed off before cooking.
@@wcdjmase Sounds like that makes sense, especially from a freshly butchered chicken perspective. May have to start trying this technique though.
Indeed you must always wash your meat 🍖 1st... other than that good job👍🏿
i need 20% now “ inflation is really getting everybody these days”
Too bad chicken is four times the price in less than a year.
Yeah it’s definitely not as cheap as it used to be. If you check out my Alabama white chicken quarters episode, I got a lot of chicken for like $5 so not too shabby
FJB
It looked burnt
Maybe some of the sugars from the meat church rub caramelized a bit, but definitely none of that chicken was burnt
Same texture, shoe leather. 165 is the max for chicken. Over cooked chicken Sucks!!!!

YOOO! You didn't clean the chicken. Straight nasty.
