Well, they retconned the Burning Blade's appearance, but the old one was crap anyway.
While this is a good development, I do think the war should take on the form of an actual war with a territory capture system to make the war physical within the world.
I love how when Flameheart awakens he looks at the screen like “who the frick are you?”
I like the fact that Flameheart is sitting on a throne made from the figure head of the original Burning Blade

@@NN-dl1gh oh Ik generally what’s coming , I’m on insiders , but there are some things (these huge events that tall tales typically are announced) that even insiders don’t get to be a part of and we dont got a clue
Most of the community doesn't cares about the story, and they were very vocal about this consuming the developer's efforts, especially during the "boring and worthless adventures". Unfortunaly for us that like the story, RARE has to hear them, because they are the majority. They want gameplay, not tales. I can see the devs releasing a couple of them like they did in the ashen age, but it's just a different period for the game.

As a new player (I did try it out a little back in 2021), I think adding a world event with a ship that can be captained if conquered is a great way to teach the game to newcomers.
I feared pvp and getting into fights, never really wanted to do tall tales. But hearing about all this, now I just wanna get good and discover this world.
The community sounds amazing once you get past the frustration of the game being ‘too hard’ and the toxic players.
Can’t wait to put in more hours into this game and I’m glad to see that it’s still alive. I see a lot of potential, but I remind myself that it’s still a fairly young game. It has time to grow

We'll have to see what happens as you say, for their Tall Tale arcs they bring out really big trailers, though I was hoping for something more akin to Captains Of Adventure in length and style. There's always next year though!

I doubt it. They probably only did whete he sits to make it look cooler. He still hot them half broken shack walls atound him and the wood railings. But they might in the future tho

In the trailer junior is not standing there anymore so maybe hes gonna replace him as the guy you sell too. Or they just removed him to make the shot look better. Its gonna look goofy if hes just sitting there infront of the lift and junior standing behind him

9:02 this could be a stretch but what if he's searching for the sea of tribute, we know its in the SoTD and all the ancients powerful items are there so it would make sense
Also what if the orb lantern is an orb of secrets, they look too similar for it to be a coincidence
It's already confirmed that the orb lantern is just that
These are both really interesting theories! As I said in the video I do think the Heart Of Fire novel will eventually come into fruition, hopefully next year in the year of the ancients where we'll get to visit the Sea Of Tribute.

I'm also disappointed that after Return of the Damned which was more than a year ago, we still don't have any new tall tales or anything really that includes Flameheart.. Was promised to be in Monkey Island too :( And I can still hear the developers talk after the results that now with Flamehearts Return the Seas will change forever.. To me it feels like Rare is back on the money grind with the new swabbies from PS5

Trailer was overall disappointing, we were hoping for a cinematic and maybe a tall tale announcement. But this "look we're hip, modern, and mass appealing" type of trailer just doesn't fit the tone of the game.
Absolutly , I hoped for a a pirates life style trailer sadly all sot Trailers were like this in the last time , genuenly imo a pirate's life was a peak trailer , sooooo epic , verrry sad that today its only some animated gameplay with a corney song
@@joseprodes6858Monkey Islands trailer was pretty good too. I think this trailer is just a small teaser and we will get a full blown cinematic trailer closer to the seasons release, since we are still over a month away.

As I said in the video, it might be disappointing but do stay positive. I myself was obviously expecting at least a 2-3 minute cinematic and then hopefully a Tall Tale, but things don't always work out. I too disagree with the style of trailers/marketing they've been doing, but trailers like the Legend Of Monkey Island are still fantastic. Season 13 WILL be awesome and the content that'll be coming to the game this years seems amazing. Next year will be our big story driven year with the year of the ancients, next year is scheduled to be Tall Tales as per our bi-annual cycle.

As much as I would love another Flameheart-related Tall Tale, it isn't really necessary.
We already resurrected him. He just hasn't been physically present in-game because Rare wanted his return to feel like a big event that actually affects the game world. And that's where we're at now.

Considering that Rare had already announce of what was to come this year, I would suspect that if they are going to release a new tall tale it will be for next year. Also due to SoT being release to PS5, I think it would be spoiling them too much if a tall tale was to be dump months after they started.
However with the new mission we will get if we take control of the Burning Blade, I do believe that we will get some lore that may hint of what may come in the next tall tale.

This sounds cool all, but I don’t know if anybody realizes how hard it is going to be to get the ship because like everyone’s gonna go to it.
Especially with the new Boarding mechanics lol. The ship is so massive. It’s insane. The ship is just gonna turn into like a TDM.
It looks fantastic, gives a BIT more info, all true. But the music, oh man. Use your own brilliant compositions. As you said, a one minute "showcase." I don't mean to be a downer, but I'm not optimistic about any of this. Either the year or where things are heading. I'm seeing a bunch of content that's being shoved down the pipeline in order to keep PS5 and soon Switch interest (sales) going. I think the narrative has been wrecked beyond salvage. I don't see Rare going back to revisit anything. Why would they? It's not hurt them in any meaningful way. The fact of the matter is (or seems to be), the game is no longer what it once was or was intended to be. That is, a lore driven, sandbox, choose your own adventure endeavor. Lore no longer holds any real significance in the game. If what's taken place over the past year and a half hasn't convinced anyone of that, then I'm not sure what to say. It's still a great game; there's no other like it. And I'll continue to play. But it's lost its magic. The magic was in the while not wholly original but wonderful nonetheless narrative coupled with a true sense of adventure. That's all been killed.
Its really fckin sad how they eliminatet the Story in the last year with monkey island cancelling of adventures and the absolute shit that season 11 did to the Story , its also sad how much they focuse on the emporium as before monthly Updates had a adventure aswell as a few Shop cosmetics and a bit of pirate emporium now its a heck tone of emporium , 2 normal cosmetics reskinns of course, and some dialoge that fucks the story even more 😢
I do slightly disagree. I agree about your own music 1000%, but the rest of it I think it's too soon to call. If we cruise through 2024 and 2025 without meaningful story then yes, I agree, but they have made it clear what the game needs which is sandbox content and experiences. That's this year. Next year will be the year of the ancients and is scheduled to be our next big Tall Tale year! I think we need to wait for them to get the core gameplay back on track, before they focus more on story.

He all but explicitly said the narrative is now a background feature and that arcs (fundamental to the lore) have been abandoned --which, he even admitted is too bad. To reitrate, in my opinion, the essence of what the game originally was has changed, and not for the better. But I'm a sucker for lore; it's what keeps me invested on a meta level. Anyways. I always enjoy your work, Ghost. Thanks for all you do.

Sea of thieves is experiencing a "history crisis" right now and i don't see how they're going to recover from it, let's suppose you are a day one player today, you have tall tales that show you somewhat the history of the game, with side characters that stopped being side and became main like briggsy and pendragon, all of the sudden, you finish your tall tales, and briggsy is a ghost at Athenas fortune and pendragon is a painting in the reapers hideout, why? how? you don't know, and if you don't resort to old gamers youtube videos or social media, you never will, same thing is Flame Heart's return, the last available in game flame heart content they would have is Sticher Jim being cursed, and where is him now? What happened to him? join social media to know, why flame heart so feared and probably so sought after to be slaughtered is now all of the sudden siting in a throne in front of the trap door soo easily accessible? Wasn't he just a voice and a shadow in a cave that every one wanted not to return 5 minutes ago? how he ended up here?
Things like gray marrow, the gold hoarder, the siren king and queen, Demarco and Lesidi, the warsmith (till some extent) aren't in the spotlight or moving the story foward, they had their impact in the story, but not so direct (except the warsmith) that it has any negative impact no one not even knowing who they are or what they have done, and for that, we have clues and explanations in game, different for example from the whole "flame heart is threat dilema" history arc, which is the main story, something of such importance was locked behind "time limited event" and now all the record of all the happened is completely gone forever (in game) this in my view is a completely dick move from Rare, because this forces players into the "game community" since if you don't participate in social media and the game groups outside of the game you don't know shit of what is currently happening in game, and to be honest, it's common knowledge that Rare profits from the game social media, views generate money, generate popularity, that generate new players that generates more money.
I know, dev's have a salary, not only them, but the whole staff, i know, we are not charged for any game update or nothing alike, i know that producing them isn't free, and that to keep the pace of the game evolution it needs to be profitable to the company, at the end of the day this is a business, not a charity or a passion work, it is made to make money, but to be honest, i don't think all of this justify them forcing people into the community
the lore part of this worries me a lot because why is there no lore

2024 YEAR OF FLAMEHEART = one cgi trailer, RARE is just joke, there is nothing event with res of Flameheart, no adventure, no TT, we just got 1 trailer and we waited for this for years.
