I have to admit in this video you handled the fish going over better than I did in one of my kayak tournaments last summer. Would have been big fish at 22”. It was the weirdest thing as soon as it jumped over some dude started yelling obscenities that echoed the lake. Just like I told everyone else that asked if I heard it. Wasn’t me. Hahahaha.

This kayak bass fisherman I watch on YT sets up his net on the left side of his bump board when taking pics when his catches are all jumpy..not a bad trick..but yeah, diggin the daily content!
The locusts r crazy down there. I am in Louisville, Kentucky, they are getting bad here too. Of course you said something about 30 seconds after I noticed the sound
locusts are huge swarms of grasshoppers that actually transform into bigger versions when they get in large numbers and eat all the crops. cicadas are smaller but these are the 17yr cicadas.. mass hatching.

Don’t worry Justin I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed either I was fishing with a jig on my bait caster and I caught several fish on it and then I get snagged but after a few minutes I get it off well I didn’t check my line to make sure it was not frayed and next cast I through the jig right off and it was the only one I had. But great video

Prop up your net in-front of the board and their nose. They usually flop the way yours did and would land in the net instead of overboard. Learned that on one of Greg B. videos
When I was stationed in Virginia, I entered into a lot of croaker tournaments that had a smallest fish prize and I always use my hand to quick measure littles. so what's difference in a shaky head / ned rig anymore? What you were using today I would think would be more like a shaky head setup than ned rig. I am fairly new into bass fishing. fly fishing and catfishing are my two main hobbies atm.

The old old timers called them Locust but a locust looks more like a grasshopper, kinda sorta like, those things that are making all that noise and just coming out of the ground are true cicadas! There’s different types or whatever, like these things that are out now are the 17 year cicadas but we have some that are out every year, are the different types are different colors and different in sizes too! Damn I sound like some know it all and didn’t mean too, I just know about these cicada things and locust and all that kinds of stuff. My bad Justin, didn’t mean to rattle on there! Damn bud, a shame bout that smallmouth, I hate when that happens!!

if you go down below the dam on cheatham lake you will get hurt because so many cars are flying out of the water 15 and 20 lb fish me and my cousin got smacked three or four times last weekend
He probably needed to have the photo submitted by 2pm and in order to get the still from his GoPro he would’ve needed to get off the water and to a computer, cutting into his fishing time

Locus is a grasshopper cicada is a large bug with wings usually leaves a brown shell on trees

Yea I actually have a couple of locust baits made by chasebaits and I've slayed some tanks with them
