Great video! I had a drive of a 2014 20i a couple of months ago, I'm convinced on the car, one of the best looking modern BMW's in my opinion. One question, what is the stock stereo system like? As BMW business and professional equipped cars are hard to come by with the newer 2 litre n20. Thanks

The standard 6 speaker system is pretty poor to the point where you can’t hear the music detail when the roof is open. That being said if rest of the car is perfect, after market upgraded speakers (including adding tweeters) makes a huge difference. Love my z4 😊

Yes! I change the speakers and put one Audison Amplifier, It sounds great now.And plus, I can listen Spotify music via blue tooth with my phone.

It’s a twin scroll turbo not twin turbo, that belongs to the mighty 35i and 35is

After selling my SLK-200 of which i've enjoyed for the last couple of years I decided i was missing the wind in your hair vibe, so i have just taken a look at one of these (spotted in the local car showroom).... your review has helped me make up my mind, should be here by next Saturday .... might even do a review myself. Where is Frankenheimer when you need a Director?

I fitted one of those throttle adapter modules, wouldn't be without now.

Tengo un z4 35i desde hace 7 años, estoy encantado con el coche, un placer poder conducirlo sin techo por las carreteras españolas.

Bought this for my wife a last LCI model 35is N54 engine from the 1M , 1600kg a little porky, but with 500NM torque, it has plenty of go and it’s proved to be a great little car for cruising around and using as a grand tourer. We find with a little bit of intelligent packing the boot is more than big enough for us with the roof down…worst case you get 310 litres with it up, which is more than many hot hatches or very similar. Ditched the run flats for more comfort and better traction on MPS 4s A really nice economical car with some individualism left in.. just look at the BMW 507 to see where it got its looks from.😂

I must say I miss the review that could contain impressions with the top UP. Yeah, I know the view that everyone wants the convertible, but for me, who enjoys conversation and good audio, it matters.

Does the z4 give you the warm feeling you get from say a jag? My e46M3 was great but left me feeling a bit cold having driven newer bmws. That cabin looks a bit different and has potential to warm up the German feel.

I have same model. Stage 1 map, k&n air filter and wagner evo 1 intercooler. 300 brake. No where near 500 miles on a tank lol and avg 24 ish. I could do a lot better but wheres the fun in that. Plus, I'm 61 next week lol

Both the wife and myself had the previous model Z4. She had a 3.0 roadster I had a 3.0 Coupe. Great cars but the ride in both was horrendous until we changed from Run Flats. Might get the wife's 220i M Sport Coupe remapped for less than £250. 🤔

If its out of bmw warranty its gotta be worth a look. I believe there are some internal changes from like 220i to 230i etc. But given regular services and decent quality petrol I'd be very eager to turn the wick!

I have a 2015 z4 2.0s , lovely car just expensive when things go wrong .second year of ownership , valvetronic £2500 then rear boot lock broke another £2000 unfortunately a lot of independent garages near me wouldn’t touch them so had to go to bmw dealership. But still love the car.

Bmw you've gotta hold traction off and then you go to mdm mode which is full off I think. I always kept my 520d msport in comfort and just knock the gear lever over.

    I bought this at 24/
25 (and single haha), so this made me laugh. Great car, can’t see a reason to ever sell it…

When buying look for one with iDrive, nice extra. I have the 23i, beige interior. To me looks a bit retro. The aircon knobs copy the old bank of engine gauges on old cars from a distance. MX-5 looks cheap and toy in comparison. Had ride in new one with customer, wasn't impressed. Was parked today next to F-type. Not sure it's any prettier.

  • @oliisakitty1965

I avoid any turbo. Had my 23i now 11 years now, 2009 car, 100k miles now, no engine problems.
Certainly main dislikes i had, the steering a bit wooden, have replaced a few suspension parts and improved. Notchy gearbox. First thing is to ditch the run flats. Go to the Z forum.

My step son recently bought one but not passed his test yet but will. I drove it and surprised how quick it is. Yes 2.0 but may been chipped. Doesn't feel like 185hp. I have a BMW 530i wagon and Porsche 986 so these are my benchmarks. I said yes you should buy it!( gorgeous yellow also sets it off)

Great looking thing it is but after my last experience with BMW's well engineered planned obsolescence and under bonnet engine plastics that go brittle with time I'll live this experience vicariously thru you and not my bank account.

Unless you get the 35i or 35is there isn’t much to worry about. This N20 can suffer timing chain failure but if you buy one budget around £800 on top of the buying price and get it replaced, then you will have no worries. Or buy the pretty bullet proof older N52 engined cars, I bought my 30i back in 2019 when it was 10 years old, now over 3 years later and I’ve spent nothing on the car except regular oil changes and some new brake pads! But at the end of the day you aren’t buying a Toyota Yaris so always keep aside 2 to 3k for any eventualities!

      @frankdaelemans4488 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@joebloggs4191 The timing chain problem was resolved on post 2012 cars. This is a 2014 so there shouldn't be any worries.
