I bought this in 2002 and I'm glad I did. Your recent video on Fans Hobby helped me decide to buy my own new Fire Guts. By the way be careful with the red and blue Ginrai because the feet and legs crumble apart like Legos. Others said same thing. I cleaned mine and was posing it but the feet and legs broke off and it seems to be only the blue plastic that became brittle because other blue parts break when posing and equipping a gun.
I'm kicking myself for passing this up. Years ago the first time I saw it I thought it looked ugly because it was orange. How young and dumb I was. The orange is amazing.

I love these mad recolours. I'm happy enough with the regular version (or at least Hasbro's reissue of God Ginrai as Powermaster Prime ...with Apex Armour!) but do appreciate these gaudy baubles. Great video man - and spot on about fanboy pedantry!
I've never seen this version before, it's fantastic! I had Powermaster Optimus Prime (and loved him), but this takes things to a whole new level. Thanks for sharing! Now maybe Fans Hobby will do this version as a recolor of Power Baser and God Armor...🧡
I wish I had been older when this was easily available as I was most likely in elementary school back then :( Also, I kinda hope they go the Botcon route and start making orange Optimuses and calling them Ginrai to finally make him entirely his own thing.
I honestly wish these Fire Guts colors were Ginrai's official colors. Rather than literally just being Optimus in his traditional colors. That way we wouldn't have this confusion like the skit obviously showed. Transformers has always done repaints of toys to make different characters anyway so it's not like a bad idea. And they even did this for a lot of headmaster and Powermaster toys that were brought over for Super God Masterforce anyway. So I never understood why they couldn't just repaint the Power Master Optimus toy.
I've only got the regular Takara reissue of God Ginrai. The cabs legs snapped when I went to transform him for the 1st time so I had to get a replacement, ugh.
As far as I know it's because that was supposed to be Optimus (Why use the same design as another character that has a design identical to him? Wasn't that confusing enough?)
@@Ian_S. Since Optimus died in The Headmasters anime, Ginrai took the transtector that was meant for the Autobot leader which was stolen by Devil Z. Optimus would be brought back in "Return of Convoy". The Legends manga detailed another attempt to bring back Optimus in a transtector, which again ended up in Ginrai's possession.
