Davis square didn't have many restaurants in the 1940's and 50's, but the busiest one was the WALDORF cafeteria in the center at the corner of ELM and HIGHLAND ave. It was like a school cafeteria and very reasonable prices for decent but not outstanding food. They had hot turkey sandwiches and hot dogs and beans, salisbury steaks with mushroom gravy, soups, etc. The coffee and tea was 10 CENTS as well as the cold drinks. A must was the Apple Pie and coffee. I miss that place now that I'm 90 years old.

I would eat Greek there twice a week... if I didn't live in Ohio! 🇬🇷🥗
This place is wack. Went there with my family. We lived in Chicago and know gyros. This place? Wack sauce.
