Played in The Snap Judgments League every season. It’s mad fun and really good opportunity to grow skills. Way different than ladder play. The league is super convenient for a dad with busy work and easily sneaks in a game a week. Love it. Would def play in an event just it takes up a bunch of time in a day. In person is appealing if it’s convenient I would be down.
The idea of tournaments is great, and for the less connected player who is hopping on for a couple to hours on a Friday night, it would be so cool if the client had an in game tournament tool (this is what I was hoping leagues would be). You buy in for a little gold, and then you get to play other people and compete and test yourself and improve, and ideally walk away with some resources. This is still what I hope leagues can become. The potential really is pretty good. Like, “Announcement: Leagues will be active this Friday from 5 PM PT-1 AM PT. Join a league and compete for prizes.” This is like a tournament on gentle mode.
I like watching tournaments. Always fun to see how really good players play against each other. Good commentators can also add a lot to the viewing / learning experience!
Reflecting on how I feel about tournaments is interesting. I will start by saying, I love they exist, I like to follow them when time permits and appreciate the coverage this channel and others give them.
The MTG Pro Tour being streamed back in the day got me further into MTG at the time and I feel probably helped sculpt a little of what I'm into now.
I like participating in tournaments, used to travel a little within the UK for MTG stuff a long time ago and for the longest time the Malifaux (it's a miniatures game but it does use cards :D ) tournament scene was a major part of my life - travelling, creating content, participating at a high level etc.
Prior to covid and the lockdowns I had started to travel a little for Transformers TCG, as well as (and I hope this doesn't sound arrogant) clean up at local events for things like Keyforge but being locked in and TF TCG being killed off sort of put a stop to that.
Now? Well Snap is the only competitive thing I play but the online nature has not made me consider tournaments, the social scene isn't there for me and yeah... I see stuff get advertised, consider it, but then ultimately don't bother. Perhaps that will change one day, perhaps I'll watch a tournament match up that will really relight that fire in me.
Arisham can generate Arisham, happened in my conquest game today.
Do you think they will change the fact that arisham generated cards don't have his border/split?
I assume they will
Community tournaments are what I'm here for and it's great for keeping the game alive
Thank you for the birthday shotout, friend. Sincerly, thank you.
I love tournaments in either format all day or spread around into different days. Anytime I can engage with other players and feel like there are high stakes in the game makes me want to put my best foot forward. Unfortunately for me, it's hard to fit all day tournament in my schedule without taking a day off from work. On my days off it's daddy time the young ones.
More tournaments, means more chances to play high profile players and gives the game more exposure to the casual player to competitive play. I'm competitive and relish an opportunity to compete with anyone.
Take care brother. Enjoy the 4th and see you at BrookLAN.
It doesn't matter how old you are, it always feels good to be shown love on your bday.
Thank you. Hope, it's ok to say hi twice on the same day lol.
More tournaments the better. It adds something to the game after one earns infinite and is a bit bored of conquest. I don't compete on the ladder and focus on farming boosters in conquest (not with Agatha).
Always welcome to say hi my friend
I haven't participated in Snap tournaments yet, but I like to watch players point-of-view of the matches. An in person tournament sounds very fun, though! Please, let us know your experience was, I'm sure it will be great to hear about it!
And I'm glad to see more Arishem decks popping up. The card is even more fun than I anticipated, and I was expecting him to become my favorite card lol
I'm not a competitive person at all, don't usually like competitive games, but Snap really got me for the theme and gameplay. But I absolutely love watching tournaments! Used to watch some Smash Bros matches, and now everytime I can, I watch Snap tournaments. Thanks Glazer!
Great custom cards! Well done JayD and Voltron.
I'm loving Arishem so far, and all his diverse decks are proof that he's awesome! I cannot tell you how long I've waited for Arishem to join Snap since I saw Eternals.
I don't like participating in tournaments but I sure do like watching. They keep the game alive and fresh and it's a cool way for people to grow in the community.
I extremely interested in playing in tournaments. Getting info on the best tournament decks is an added bonus. Mostly playing in them
I have no time to follow tournaments, or even participate in em (I'm a too bad player anyway). That's why I'm so glad you cover the summary for me, Thanks!
I just participated in my first tournament experience recently with tuccrr's arishem tournament. I enjoyed it more than I thought and am even contemplating joining sjl because of it. I think overall I may actually like them even though I've been wary of them before as I do not think I'm good enough for tournament play.
I'm so excited for tournaments. I love helping this community
Im interested in in-person tourneys! The reaction we get with my friends during a friendly match across the table is always priceless after every turn 6 or 7!
That's a good question today. For me personally, tournaments or more specifically the competitive component is what keeps me playing Snap. I really enjoy brewing on this topic, discussing new and tricky decks, continuously testing myself, etc. At first I was more used to one-day tournaments, like you went in, did your best, got a prize(sometimes) and walked out. But I'm leaning more towards more comprehensive and long-lasting tournaments now, as I think that due to the longer distance it is possible to identify the current strongest player.
Ive never participated in a tournament or league before, but now that I hit infinite kind of easily these last few seasons and then some, I was actually thinking about entering the next season of judgement league. If nothing else, for the experience! Thanks for the video!
I'm somebody who relaxes with games, I wouldn't play in tournament even though I played some mtg ones when I was younger. Although I love the fact that the opportunity exists for others, it benefits the whole community and it would be interesting to see an officially sanctioned one.
I'm not interested in playing in tournaments but to watch some Top4-8 matches in order to "know" what's "good" in the meta. And I like to discover decks from tournaments that u showcase in the videos.
As always, thanks for sharing many interesting info about Snap and its community & how-to-play some of the best (sleeper) decks in the game. Thank you also for giving away!
I would love to have the time to play tournaments, but I'd play just for fun. I find it very interesting to look at tournament winning decks in order to understand the thought pattern of great players in order to improve my game.
Tournaments are absolutely the #1 thing i want for the game. There's just something awesome about the pressure, big situations and strategy in tournaments that i can't get enough of.
The one and only!
I'm open to tournaments if they're in person. I live near Brooklyn and would love to check that out. That said, absorbing man after blob in my Arishem deck is my new favorite combo. Climbed from 40k rank to 11k rank just yesterday. Awesome new cards!
personally, i LOVE tournaments! i hadn’t considered them at all until joining SJL season 1, and in SJL season 2 i managed to win my pod! (i then lost to butt, but he won the tournament so i don’t feel so bad lol)
tournament decks are super interesting as they are the decks i will take into conquest, as if they won in tournament, they are probably very good in conquest!
i also like following the players who are big tournament grinders, because you pick up so many little tips that make you better at the game (like the cable snapping tip you mentioned in the video)
PLEASE continue covering tournaments! if you get the chance, it would also be really cool to see you commentate a tournament :)
I am definitely down for tournaments, I used to play more online tournaments for stuff back in highschool but had run out of time. So recently for me in my current situation I think I have time again. They really bring the community together I think and let people show off some new decks as well.
I absolutely love the concept of tournaments! If the tournament aligns with my time zone, I will definitely be joining without a doubt.
I personally haven’t really cared for any tournaments in any game I’ve followed, but understand how important they are for the game and the community. That being said, the snap judgments league has been such a great format. A pretty busy schedule on my end and been able to get all my matches in. Shoutout to the SJL team! Probably the only thing I’ll participate in (would try to grind ladder for the first time if I had any other free time for the game)
Tournaments in MS are how we get so many cool deck ideas! I've played the past two SJL tournaments and am already signed up for this month's; I only want to participate in this format since in-person can be a big commitment. I like the online one-and-done format, but if I was lucky enough to join an in-person event (and could afford the time), I would gladly do so.
I used to follow the competitive Hearthstone scene. Actually playing tournaments is awkward due to the timezone I live in.
I would like there to be a spectacular mode so tournaments can be cast effectively. It was a game changer for Hearthstone tournaments
Love watching any tourney i can catch online. Seeing the tech that high level players bring is always interesting amd exciting. Can never play in tourneys myself because im always working at the ramen shop.
I love ramen
The video I was waiting for. Today is a fun day people trying to find the best decks and the best counters.
I like your coverage of tournaments. Seeing what decks are winning is good info. I am interested in trying/watching a live tournament at Brooklan
Currently, I'm not interested in taking part in any of the tournaments, that could change though. But I do appreciate seeing the decks they bring about, and much thanks to you for sharing them with us.
I like the random off meta decks in tournaments. I like to watch them, but not good enough to participate in them 😅.
Did hit infinite again because of the decks you feature in your vids. I did it this season with ika sandman. Was 98 last week then dropped to 90. Climbed back up. Was 98 after this video came out yesterday, then after an hoir hit infinite. Thanks again, really love the content, the decks and the replacements for the cards. 👍
I competed in ItsGuest’s Agatha tournament a while back and had a great time! I’d probably do more, I also like seeing tournament results as well! I remember when old Stegron was making final 4’s and I was hyped lol!
I like to study the tournament decks, there are always some creative decks pop out and it can always provide me a lot of inspiration.
love the cool Arishem facts of the video. Would love this for every new card release of like a lore fun facts section if available.
I've personally never participated in a tournament, but I think it's very interesting to see what decks are coming out of them, especially if there is a certain restriction applied. And of course watching the best fight each other is also quite entertaining.
I loved playing in the SJL and will hopefully do so this season. Didn't do well but had fun. Started to watch some of the coverage but found it was taking up a lot of time so ended up skipping to last games.
I like tournaments as a way to introduce new flavors and takes on already existing archetypes, I remember seeing someone run an Dracula on destroy to target death or knull doesn’t seen consistent but it’s fun and that’s why I love seeing them, definitely would love see them in game
I love tournaments!
I tend to be busy enough that I can't participate, but I love seeing what other's are succeeding with and then building upon that in the spurts that I get to play
I like watching top players play in tournaments, but I wouldn't participate in one myself personally.
i really like the idea of tournaments , the pressure is real and everyone watching. is like playing wsop for me :D if it fits my time zone i will join for sure
I don't see myself joining many tournaments, unless they were completely in game. But I do always like seeing tournament results from top players because I think it gives good insight into decks that perform at a high level.
Tournaments definitely are something I enjoy to see what’s good and how effective a deck can be. Personally more online tournaments would be great for a wider audience and may cater to other time zones
I think tournaments are great for the game. You guys doing your own thing is awesome. Me personally, I’d love to try and compete but I feel like getting into this game late has hindered me from doing that for a time. So as far as tournaments go. I’d love to compete either in person or online. And as a side note, I’d love to have a spectator mode in game for all the tournaments so I can at least watch the best players.
Really interested in tournaments and you covering results. Prefer prefer things like the league to 1 day tourneys online. Would love an in person tourney or event. On the look out for any happening near Chicago.
I like the idea of a tournament in Marvel Snap, it is something that in some way could be implemented together with the clans of the future
I would be game to participate in a tournament if I heard about it with enough prep time; however, I missing some recent key cards like Sersi and Sage. Nice that y’all are hosting at BrookLAN again as I live in BK!
Hope to see you there the 12th!
@@snapjudgmentspod East Wburg a bit of a trek from Flatbush so we’ll see if I’m feeling social next Friday
I am incredibly interested in the tournament scene for Marvel Snap, as many games that have a competitive core, especially card games, in recent history live and die by external viewership sources (mainly content creation and of course tournaments). The last card game I really dug into before Snap, Legends of Runeterra, had absolutely abysmal tournament viewership relative to what could reasonably expected from a Riot Games title AND from what was easily at the time the highest graphical quality card game, with reasonable complexity as well as readable boardstates from a spectating perspective. There are certainly other factors to a game's health and longevity, but my perspective working around the collegiate-level esports space has had me paying close attention to tournament viewership trends within popular titles as an early sign of what is to come.
No time for tournaments but I love hearing about the decks and individuals who are battle for top positions.
I currently organize and run a tournament in the Parents of Snap discord where people play 1 game per week (parents are busy people afterall) and it's good casual fun for everyone. I probably won't play in any public tournament since I don't have much time. I do like seeing tournament decks, because they give me good ideas for conquest decks.
Cool video.
I’m having a blast playing Arishem. Literally just put him in and then my favorite cards lol it’s great
I loved watching the tournaments of content creators or Twitch Rivals on Marvel Snap. Interesting to see high level Plays and how decks are doing at higher levels. I'm not a good player but taking part to a chill tournament in app once in a while could be interesting.
I’m not really interested in competing in tournaments because i enjoy the casual feel of the game. but I do enjoy seeing what decks are used in tournaments to give ideas for tweeked builds and such.
I can dig Arishem and am interested in “ in person” mostly, but doubt my area would have anything.
I love participating in tournaments when they are well organized and have clear rules
I love tournaments, stemming from many nights of FNM in Magic growing up.
As a father of two, that's difficult, which is why the Snap Judgments League has been awesome for me to schedule my own time.
I don’t have time or skill to compete in tournaments, but I enjoy seeing the deck breakdowns afterwards.
I don't really have the time for tournaments (competing or watching) but I love to see which decks appear and which ones did well in the tournament so I can steal and try the good decks myself xD
I believe that a tournament system can be implemented in the game, either official or community driven. The ideal scenario could be within a format of weekly/monthly timeframes for registration and participation. The rewards could vary depending on the number participants/brackets etc. If some of these features could be fulfilled, I find this concept very enticing and I would definitely give it a shot. Personally, I am even considering to try participating in the SJL tournament in the future.
Not really bothered about tournaments, but I like anything that brings communitys together and promotes growth, while giving players exposure. inperson tournaments are cool to meet up and make new friends!
I played in a few tournaments and I had a blast. I would be interested any of the formats. My personal favorites are the community tournaments.
Not interested in participating in a tournament, but enjoy watching them and seeing what type of decks show up. Especially enjoy surprising decks that win.
I do enjoy you featuring the decks of tournament winners.
I'm always interested in tournaments, but mainly as a spectator. I've never tried a snap or hearthstone tourney, but do like seeing what people feel are the best decks to take. I do like seeing how some of decks shown here perform in a competitive setting.
Not really interested in tournaments, but I do like to see the new decks that come out of them and new players/content creators to follow.
I don't normally have time to watch tourneys live, but would love a recap, play by play video from the last/key matches.
I’m very interested in tournaments because you see the brains of high lvl players. You get to see different deck creations and interesting interesting both in game and in person. Tournaments make the game scene fun. Would play in one some day and I’m from NYC, Brooklyn too.
I'm extremely interested in tournaments, I think it's the best to improve and learn from the best players. I'm finishing to get all the cards for a competitive deck and then I'll jump into the next one :)
I would love to engage with more tournaments! being a full time worker in AUS timezone made it really hard to schedule matches during season 1. I basically had to give up a lunch break once a week and one week had to forfeit die to a work meeting coming up right before our match...
I'm really interested in the Marvel Snap tournament. Whenever I see something on TH-cam or Twitch I try to follow it. I believe that if the game had a spectator mode it would greatly help the game to be disseminated as a competitive game. I think about starting to participate in some championships soon, SJL is one of them of course. I'm just trying to resolve some personal and professional problems so that I can play with a little more focus in tournaments and even on the ladder
Not necessarily interested in playing or participating in any tournaments myself, but watching them? That could be really fun and insightful as a espectator. Those are my two cents.
I haven't watched any tournaments myself, but I am always interested in what performs well in them, since it will undoubtedly impact the meta.
I like tournament decks because they are successful. That helps me understand which cards synergize and helps me learn how to make better combos myself.
I like tournaments. I would absolutely love an in person one, but not sure how much opportunity there will be for me here in the UK
I've only participated in a couple of tournaments from small streamers, but I'm more interested in the league format because sometimes the RNG plays against you and in a regular tournament it costs you your elimination and in a league you only get a few points but you can keep trying for the next games.
*Giveaway question; super curious about tournaments, especially in person, but yeah I live in the Midwest and rarely am eligible time wise or patreon wise so it just feels like there’s always something; would still love to play a tourney someday somehow and in person actually sounds super cool!
I've never played in a tournament and don't think i ever would. I'd get too nervous
The SJL tournament format is just perfect for us adults. I would love to participate if any tournament is free. Thank you for these incredible decks.
Tournaments are always great for some good ol’ netdeckin 👍
I have never participated in tournaments yet (I also don't like the Conquest mode in the game, it takes too much time), but soon I plan to take part in the Arishem tournament from eastern Europe (I see foreigners will also participate). I like to play with different decks.
Don't have time for tournaments but enjoy reading about what wins there because it's relevant for conquest.
I don’t think I’ll ever participate in a snap tournament, even though it’s a cool idea. But one thing I would really love is to see match videos from the finals - especially if they had some insightful commentary from an experienced player. Some of my favorite streamers do that themselves, already.
For the giveaway question, I really like watching tournaments, good fun to see decent players playing the game I like, with decks I’m trying to play better, not sure I would enter one.
Happy enough for tournaments to exist, but all they do for me is create interesting decks for you to spotlight.
Just started my new full time work until my last semester of uni and I haven't really had much time for snap cuz of that but I'm still really looking forward to sjl and dedicating some time in my week to that one match and trying to find a deck and practice (hopefully I also find some time for this too) and yeah just the atmosphere of a tourney match is always intense and fun
Also that woody deck looks like some wild fun I'd like to fit in swarm somehow seems good with sersi too
Edit: also arishem gave me another arishem once
I'm interested in tournaments. I've only played in one though. What i really like about tournaments are the new decks that come up. I'm always looking forward to trying out strong new decks, especially when i have the cards.
I'm pretty interested in tournaments. I have watched a bunch and competed in several. I do like the review of the winning decks.
I like tournaments because of the creativity on display and those who participate tend to try and break/counter the meta which is my preferred approach to competitive games
I'd rather see draft than tournaments but that's just me. Irregardless, I love what you do Glazer ;)
I'm interested in decks and tournaments too, besides that i don't have some cards, but that idea is very interesting. Have a nice day! 😊
While I'm not interested in competing in tourneys, I do like to see the decks and plays that were used to help me refine my own strategies.
Love Woodys Prophecy deck in Conquest since I don’t have Arishem yet. It’s the ultimate non-Arishem, Arishem deck.
I like knowing what decks are winning. I like the tournaments. If I were to participate in person, it seems to be more exciting.
Busy adult here, so I have no time to follow or take part in tournaments. Your videos are all I need :) Keep on with the good work! Thanks.
While I don't follow Tournaments, I am happy they exist. Online competitive games in today's world needs to have tournaments to show that they are thriving and have fans. This allows more chances for the game's player base to grow and for more sponsors to invest in the game. It also allows the meta to evolve (for better or worst) since tournament goers are less likely use widespread decks.
Tournaments are cool and a good way to find new decks 💯
I would love to participate in tournaments, unfortunately i dont believe i'm competitive enough and also do not have the time. But i always love know what decks do great in tournaments
