  • Following a four-year delay, Lufthansa is set to unveil its upgraded, more luxurious Business Class service for long-haul flights. The new service will premiere on the Munich to Vancouver route beginning in May, as the German carrier has confirmed. Later in the year, towards the end of summer, the Munich to Toronto route will also feature the new Business Class.
The enhanced service will be offered on new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the first to be outfitted with these revamped cabins.
    Enhanced Luxury and Privacy
The Allegris Business Class marks a considerable advancement from Lufthansa’s previous Business Class, which had started to show its age. This overhaul provides passengers with more space and guaranteed direct aisle access from every seat, thus removing the inconvenience of navigating over another passenger’s legs when seated next to a window. For added privacy, sliding doors will be installed in the front-row Suite seats.
Unique to this new offering are various Business Class seat options, including the Suite, Privacy Seat, Privacy Seat with baby accommodation, Extra Space Seat, and the Double and Classic Seat. These options are all housed within one Business Class cabin, offering an intriguing mix of privacy and comfort. It remains to be seen what additional fees Lufthansa will impose for these enhanced privacy features.
Initially slated for a 2020 launch aboard the new Boeing 777-9s, the Allegris Business Class faced delays due to the aircraft's development setbacks, now expected to enter service by 2025 at the earliest, and further delays were caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alongside the Business Class enhancements, the new Allegris Premium Economy and Economy Class will also be introduced on flights to Vancouver (LH476/LH477) and subsequently to Toronto (LH494/LH495). However, the upgrades in these classes are noted to be less significant compared to the current options. As more A350s join the fleet in the fourth quarter of 2024, Lufthansa plans to launch the new Allegris First Class, further elevating its passenger experience.
