Hardest part of the workout is definitely the mental battle! I'll catch myself periodically not going hard enough on my sets. Usually I get mad at myself for being a wimp and it lights a fire under me! Glad you got some peace and quiet on your "rest day" for eavesdropping on peeps!😆

Hi from Russia. Branch Warren said that the only thing he regrets in his career is that he did not rest (recover) enough. Lotsa inexperienced youngsters will repeat after you and will not have time to recover, while beginners need even more time for recovery. I think that it's quite possible to arrange eat and chill days. :)
Chin ups are also super awesome for the arms and also you are great presenter and don’t forget to stay hydrated with good rest as well , stay healthy and happy
Chin ups for arms is achieved on back day when back exercises are performed. If you're recuperating your lats and back, chin ups arent really the thing to do.

I love when my joints crack during movements, like doing split squats or skull crushers. It although becomes a discouragment when I am looking forward to that satisfying pop and don't hear it =/
saw you doing those Zottman curles a while ago so I started doing them too, and yeah they're great for forearms, I totally have a puppy there! I gotta do more forearm curls though, but they're just sooo boring

I’ve always done gym and workouts on and off for over a decade, but for the past month, I’ve been training and moving so much more and I’m already seeing a difference. Smaller shoulders while keeping heaps of musculature, is refreshing to see. Shoulders are such an androgen site. (except for Dana Lynn Bailey's clearly natural deltoids!!) Also the fact that Patty seems to be somewhat forever in a maintenance workout to some extent. (goal dependent I guess) The aim of strength training doesn't have to be double your mass every 18 months. You can get jacked and stay there. Nothing worse than watching jacked dudes who's bench increases 20kg a month giving out free lifting and diet advice to those of us stuck in the boring ol natty world.

renaissance periodization has an analogy about working out, having to do with workouts being like hurricanes 🌀 and they cause recovery construction, but the recovery construction doesn't happen until after the hurricane passes and of you never have actual recovery the reconstruction never happens, or doesn't happen well

I recently broke a leg press by doing 250kg for reps, it was full stack so the machine should have been able to handle it but the cable snapped (exploded) I’m actually quite proud of it, it’s like an achievement because instead of the leg press breaking my legs; my legs broke the leg press
That t-shirt, though... If you're not lifting to at least close to failure, why not? Yah, today may just be an arms day too. Your shoulders are my forearms. I am *severely* disappointed with my grip strength. Must improve.... I really appreciate your mentality. The pain will end, and you're left with some pretty awesome gains--not just physically, but psychologically.
