The main thing I hated was they never had any fragrances I wanted. So I settled on things I didn't want, until I got smart and canceled.

I think there are tasteful and genuine ways of doing it, particularly if it’s products the TH-camr/Influencer used before any sort of sponsorship came around. But you can definitely tell when they are pushing something way too hard and purely because they’re getting paid to do so.

I cancelled them a year ago when they would not allow me to make repeat purchases of amouge. They were trying to force me to overpay for designer stuff when a FULL bottle costs like 10 dollars more.

Totally appreciate you shedding light on this. I have been a scentbird customer for at least 2 years now and I recently received my cologn and the bottle had leaked and it was only less than half in the bottle. I reached out to them to get a replacement or refund and they never got back. I have not renewed my subscription eversince and this video has cemented my decision not to do so. Thank you. Not to mention their late package deliveries.

I signed up in August, got as far as October and cancelled because I am STILL waiting on my October order. Every time I write to ask for my order or a refund, I get a "we'll get back to you" email. They're garbage, period-point-blank.
Same here. I signed up in August and never got anything. I contacted them several times but no reply. I filed a dispute with PayPal and Scentbird claimed they sent me items... But they had no proof. Paypal refunded me. Scentbird is a fraud. They pay for reviews. Rarely ship products. And has zero support
They did same thing to me. Took me filing a complaint with the NY BBB and to finally get a response. They are supposed to be giving me my money back, we will see.
The same thing happened to me and I finally reached out but they DID refund me, no problem surprisingly.

I paid for two scents per month (almost $30 a month) in November... and I still haven’t received anything and it’s now the middle of January 😳 so they basically stole $30 from me. Don’t ever use them. Soooo shady.
Just ask a refound with your bank or paypal (if you used it) and please write them, even on Facebook/instagram if needs to be. This is not fair!
The price you pay might as well buy the real bottle. With everything month price it adds up I was just about to buy to be cheap but changed my mind
Thank you for keeping your dignity and not killing your brand with a dishonest review! You're right. I gave them a chance, and they suck. Orders never came the month that they were supposed to, and I was never offered anything but apologies and excuses for the severe delays while they "transitioned" into a new warehouse-a fact that they neither made me aware of before subscribing, nor did it stop them from charging me the monthly fee while I waited for my order to ship weeks after it should've. Customer service was just as slow in their responses when I reached out, taking a month to reply to my last email asking for a refund for my September order that I was still waiting for when I should've already received my October order. I did like their atomizer cases though-just the actual case, NOT the atomizer. They're better quality, although much more expensive, than the 6 packs you can buy on Amazon.

Authentic? He's never used the service. How's that "authentic"? I used it for a year and a half and NEVER had any of the issues he mentioned. Neither has anyone else here who actually used the service.
Holy shit! You took on a large company with the brutal truth, AGAIN. Man, aren't you a honest man with balls big enough to reach the ground? I don't live in the North America, so I am not able to get the service from ScentBird. Even if I did, I wouldn't use the service anyway. This is because it just doesn't add up. Advertising, delivery, warehousing, labors, frags, various misc. expenses, and profits. Most of the time, the users would end up with dirt cheap fragrances. I mean they have to, right? The company exists for only one reason. Profits. However, the customers cannot get the values that they paid for as you pointed out. Man, you are the Anderson Cooper or whoever reputable investigative reporter is in the fragrance community. I salute you, sir. And, happy new year with more episodes like this and the usuals.
Very much appreciate this video, and your honesty. I've been a SB subscriber for a yr, wanted to try out some scents, but you really opened my eyes, to many things. The cost alone, was the number one thing I needed to realize, and though I have had some hiccups, along the way, for the most part, customer service took care of me. I have wondered about their limited selection, and hoped for some additions, but that's not happened. I am canceling my subscription, and seeking other sources for future juice purchases, period. Incidentally, I still haven't received my Feb shipment, and already been billed for March, even. I have bought from FragranceNet, and been very pleased, but again, seeing the SB cost per ml, vs other suppliers, anything else is a better deal, financially. Anyway, thanks brother, & all the best!~

Finally someone said it. Exactly why I cancelled my subscription after like three months back when I started getting into niche fragrances and discovered websites like fragrancenet and notino. Scentbird makes its money basically ripping off casual fragrance wearers who don’t know better. $14.95 for 8ml of Ferragamo F-Black? I see 100ml bottles of that stuff at Ross all the time for $20
Also, almost a year later after cancelling my subscription it magically renewed and my credit card got charged for two months worth of fragrance while I was out of the country. I only physically received one of those fragrances in the mail. I re-cancelled my subscription, sent them an angry email requesting a refund and a permanent cancellation but I never heard back from them.

Your assuming that we have enough money to waste on a full bottle without knowing if we’ll like it or not most sites are selling 0.17 testers for 10-15 dollars scentbird is 0.27 for 15 dollars maximum(you can pay less depending on your subscription) which is about 2 dollars per 0.05 oz less than other sites they sell at a huge up charge for full bottle because that’s not what they’re meant for but I haven’t seen a better price for a test bottle yet if you know of one let me know because I’m all for saving money

Most ppl now a days only care about things that will make them money even if its not honest.This service would only make sense if it were all fragrances that were near niche price bottles. I was thinking of the same thing but like he said, I could just go to my local perfume store and ask for some samples for free. Its the price of the subscription that put me off because I could get an entire perfume for the same price.

You are so right!!! I cancelled mine after a month or so when I saw that they didn’t have a good collection. And it was so not worth $15. I tell all my friends and family when they asked me about to not sign up because they are not worth it. I actually tell them about Sephora and Nordstrom too.

I actually decided against ordering from them, when I saw a thread of people talking about being sent the wrong frag. The tricky thing, is it was labeled correctly, but the scent was wrong. Even worse: imagine if the scent you got was awesome. Like imagine blind buying a fragrance, only to buy the bottle later, and it smells completely different.
What's worse, is these people claim that when they tried to get through to customer service to find out what the scent actually was, they couldn't figure it out. So now you're sitting here with this mystery scent decant that you really like, but you'll never get to know what it was.
Unless you go to a fragrance store and smell every fragrance until you find it? 🤔

I think it should be pointed out that the price comparison is not apples to apples. The 8ml pricing and the 100ml pricing are not comparable in the same way a 6 pack of beer and a keg per unit is not comparable.
This isn’t saying he’s wrong, but the size and scale of the pricing differential is not as large as this makes it seem.
The real purchase choice is: is the 8ml price worth the convenience of not purchasing 100ml to get the savings at scale

My second scent I got from them was leaking in the cardboard tube it comes in to make it look very special. I'm a woman that has had a signature scent for years, I thought I needed something new, so I thought I would try this. And you are right about these cheap atomizer tubes they use. Thank you, thank you!! Are those all of your scents in the background in this video? Lol! That's a lot of mens cologne. I have to watch this video again to see which one you had recommended. I'm done with scentbird. Since I couldn't get any reply, I removed my payment information. Now they keep bothering me to add my payment method to get my subscription sent. You've also done some very in depth research. Again, thank you!
Although Ive never used Scentbird, when I first got into fragrances around this time last year, I started using Scentbox...which is pretty much the same thing...the have a better selection of Fragrances but you touched on the most important thing of all, which is the price! I actually had a premium subscription for $29.99/month where I was getting two frags per month...once I saw how cheap I could get full bottles of stuff for on ebay, I cancelled that subscription super fast....also just like with Scent Bird, Scent Box's atomizers are trash as well...they leak, their distribution is totally inconsistent, , and its hard to judge how much of a fragrance you need to spray because you never get a full spray of juice with them....I think those sites are designed to prey on people who are ignorant to fragrances that want to get into them just like me when I initially signed up for it
Leaking atomisers is a killer for me. Leaking bottles = loss of all credibility. Atomisers are cheap, there is zero reason to sell leaky ones
When you take into account all the costs associated with Scentbird, $14.95 isn't a crazy price. Apart from the juice they have to pay for the tubes, packaging, shipping, wages for those decanting, taxes, marketing costs etc. etc. Essentially Scentbird is a promotional company, fragrance houses send them their perfume for free in the hopes of selling full bottles afterwards. This is how Scentbird makes their money, they have tens of thousands of perfume fanatics, basically the perfect target market for any fragrance house. So when a new company launches, Scentbird will promote their perfume in exchange for free perfume and perhaps even a marketing fee (if they want to be in the newsletter). It's a clever business plan.

I had Scentbird for years but mostly because it was super difficult to cancel. What I hated most about it is the scents I put in my queue or had even received in the past from them would go "unavailable" CONSTANTLY. To the point where I realized that a lot of what the website says they currently have at any given moment is actually a lie.

I'm so glad you made this post! In re to samples: Nordstrom, Saks, Bergdorf, etc. will send samples via mail if you call and request them. I was dying to try Chanel Coromandel and Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur & Portrait of a Lady. They gladly sent samples and of course I fell in love with all three. :)

Scentbird has never given me any issues, has always been quick and on time with their shipments. The nearest sephora or nordstrom to me is nearly an hour away since I live in a rural area. I get your points though.
Andrew S try the perfumed court for small samples then just buy a full size of the ones you like.
I have never had a problem with them. I get fragrances I could never afford, like Amouage and such. I would never buy regular fragrances.
I like that I don't have to spend over $100 for something I might not like. I'm gonna try about 6 of em to get an idea of what colognes I like. The first one I got was pretty great. It did take long to arrive tho probly like 3 weeks and the package tracking was not working accurately.

You forgot one aspect, it takes the stress of going out and shopping. I really enjoy not having to think about it much.
When I tried them a couple years ago, there was a serious issue with the quality of the fragrance. It was definitely diluted on several of the ones I received.
I never noticed until I recently compared it to my aventus, and then the Layton.
@@MrEddyedr that’s how I noticed too. I had suspicions so I ordered a fragrance I already owned and the difference was clear.

Brutal honesty which is greatly appreciated. You’re integrity is stellar. I wrote a few years ago the same thoughts you stated. They have fragrances that I really don’t need to sample from a subscription service and they should have charged a higher premium with better fragrances. They also have those three perpetual commercials nonstop. The guy who never leaves his house without cologne, the hipsters trying to empty the atomizer and cubaknow. I can’t hit skip ad fast enough
