    Not bad but I would probably go more for a Forest River Wildwood or Salem FSX 200RBK if I were looking for a trailer in that weight range with a wooden frame and aluminum shell. With the "Off Road" package they are just a tad bigger with a slightly better floor plan.

    Unrelated to this video, but..How is the goosebox doing? We're in that beginning, over research, phase of rv searching and I've been watching some of your videos. I noticed that a year or so ago you had a fifth wheel vs gooseneck video and said you didn't like the idea of the gooesebox because of the stress it puts on the trailer frame, then one from a few months back when you installed one you said you were really liking it. I'm conflicted because I like the idea of the fifth wheel, but she doesn't want to give up bed space for something we might not use much, so that goosebox seems like the best compromise.

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been great! The original video was referring to gooseneck adapters that attach to the bottom of the kingpin. The Goosebox replaces the entire pinbox.

    It needs a Murphy bed with a multipositional table with the bench seat being a two seat table. Then have a fold down flat screen Tv from the roof. Lot's of dude's would love a man cave but lack the money and area to have one. Those little changes and keeping it all under ten grand? The reviewer is focusing on pickup trucks as tow vehicles, but that size/weight of trailer is also well within the range of SUVs with V-6 engines and 5-6,000 pounds of towing rating such as the Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, Kia Sorento and Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Toyota Highlander, and the Ford Explorer. It's marginal for those tow rated for 3,500 pounds such as the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Ford Edge and sibling Lincoln MKX/Nautilus.

That truck is made just to pull a trailer and do work but Ford will make it luxurious and sell it for way too much. It is almost impossible to buy a real work truck cheap. We had if since then with no issues other than a faulty Battery replaced by the dealer. If you pull it with a 4 banger , you will already be at close to its maximum tow rating. Combine that with a engine having to work harder , bad mileage , wear tear bad idea. Unless it’s a short term deal. It also not less then 2000lbs , but 3200 lol and that’s without all the baggage stuff loaded in it.

    Anyone looking at these small, traditional "Stick Built" trailers, should really check out the newly released "Wolf Pup 16PF". Only a few dealers in the country have received one yet, and doubt many will keep them in-stock for long, the floorplan is fantastic for such a small trailer. Around 6-800 pounds heavier than the one in this video, but I don't think you would want to tow either one with a 3500lb tow rated vehicle, which moves you up to 5000lb tow rated vehicles anyway.

Mainly we're just looking to put a little guy like this on a plot of land to live in while we build our home. Then once the house is done, we can use it to putt-putt around the country in for fun.
