Own this in the Baja. LOVE it. Use it 2 months of the year - one month in spring, one in fall for Steelheading. Just me and my lab. Shower regularly, bathroom, space to store my fly tying gear and materials, great counter space for food prep, adequate propane fridge space, AND clearance to get to my favourite riverside spots without tearing the tanks off. I’m 6’2”, 230 pds. Lower bunk very comfortable. Don’t have to remake the bed/table every night/morning. Fish 12 hour days, come back to this RV for dinner, hot shower, meal, and an evening of scotch and fly tying with the lab in dry warmth before retiring.
LOVE this. My family and I traveled in an 18 foot trailer summer months all around the US when I was a kid in the 70s. Why does everything have to be so darned big, fancy and expensive these days? More smaller, please!
I was just thinking about my moms yellowstone trailer. Things gotta be pushing 50. It's small and cozy inside and has a 4 burner stove with oven in it! It's still kicking after all these years. They certainly don't make em like they usee to!
My thoughts exactly. This Jayco is great and my grandparents hauled us all over the place in something about this size. We were comfortable and had an amazing time. Seriously my very best childhood memories were with 6-8 of us piled in one of these things. If we didn't have enough sleeping space, we made sure to carry a small tent. Don't get me wrong, I love the big fancy units but I could enjoy this unit.
Looking at this from a single male point of view... This RV is perfect for me. You have a kitchen, table, seat, toilet, mini fridge, and bed. The only thing missing are disposable paper plates and a trash can.
@@spideymcgee4718 I like the idea of a permanent table. First person awake can make coffee/breakfast, read the paper, pray for the grandkids, etc, without having to wait for anyone else to wake up. While I think it’s clever, I wouldn’t use a table as a bed.
I would like to see you do more of these small light trailers in the 2000 to 3500 pound weight class. Stick and tin trailers are just fine, if they are properly put together.
Lorraine Lee Do they make any of those? Only ones I have seen are old ones. Or restored old ones. I am only aware if the short run of the winged Shasta travel trailers. And the various retro style models.
SPANK TheMonkey You mean all those formaldehyde outgassing people pickeling trailers which sat in fields until the lawsuits were settled, labeled as uninhabitable, then sold and moved to the Dakota’s oil patch and rented out to oil field workers and other poor folks in other remote locations? Those trailers? People are still living in many of them and the formaldehyde outgassing has pretty much gone away. Testing reveals most of them were ok after they were sold off and aired out for a while.
I've had two of these, and they're great! It was eveerything my wife and I needed. Bunks for 3, dinette sleeping area, four-burner stove, great fridge, stereo, etc. The front window makes everything feel open and spacey. -Ned
Small travel trailers are NOT just for short trips, they are also for people who basically sleep in them and spend rest of time outside. My wife and I took a 13 footer from NH to Alaska one summer and upgraded to a 17 footer and traveled from NH to Montana, Wyoming and Utah the next. Most nights were spent at free or Government campsites. When we did stay at private RV parks I was amazed at number of people with big rigs who only seemed to come out to walk their little dogs.
I have one with the Baja package. I do a lot of boondocking on public land and this trailer fits tight camp spots with ease and my tundra tows it like nothing’s behind it. Build quality isn’t the best but it’s not horrible. I got mine for $12k otd, it’s a good value for the price imo.
Just the kind of unit looking for. Something I could use for approximately 2 months for onsite living at work, having a shower and toilet is a huge plus. Then tow home and use once in a while as guest quarters for visitors. Small enough to store away on my property or in garage and not be in the way.
Four years ago we set out to buy a small trailer and really liked the Jayco. We ended up with a 27+ ft though! It’s our 2nd Jayco and it was definitely worth the extra $$$ of other brands.
This would be perfect to travel from NJ to Texas for my sister's wedding! I could take my 3 small Morkies and my Cockatiel with me so I don't have to pay a pet sitter. Lol
Good review and nice camper. Thing is to tell Big Truck and Big RV: Many of us do not want a huge house on the highway. I don't want to need a monster truck to haul a monster sized camper. I'm researching light weights that will accommodate me and occasionally my daughter and grandson. To me, this is a great starter camper and the perfect size! Don't even have to settle for a wet bath. The price is nice!
I love these trailers! I had the 17ft bunkhouse model and hauled it on a camping excursion from the Colorado Rockies to the Ozarks in northern Arkansas and back without a single issue, it was ridiculous easy to get in and out of gas stations too! My only gripe being not having an automatic pilot light, I got a little frustrated on an occasion or two having to hand light in the wind but for the price of the rig there is no room for complaint. A roof mount a/c is nice too, a lot of times I've seen side mounts on these little guys and to my experience they only seem to cool what is directly in front of them. When all is said and done I would totally buy this unit, the only thing I would do is drop the table for good, install a standard spring or memory foam mattress in the dining area, and just eat outside or off of tv trays. Nice informative video, thank you.
I agree with making the dining table a permanent bed. It's just me and my teenager and our dogs. We can eat outside or in the winter we can eat on trays. I like this but I think I like the hummingbird just a bit more. My child loves to bake and the hummer comes with a convection oven.
Nice mini traveling hitch RV. Not too big over sized where you have to worry about do you have enough room to park it where ever you liked. You can go camping or visit relatives and park this in their driveway or yard. Great idea for RV beginners or seniors who can't drive one those oversized RV's.🚐🛣
I’ve been trying to find something small enough to take the family weekend camping at the beach, as well as some of our surrounding lakes and rivers , then store easily out of the way afterwards. This looks like a perfect match ,for my family’s needs . Thanks for sharing and as always for the outstanding content. 👍
Ok but..... a slide in camper has a bed AND a dining area. For a couple this is huge, not having to change sheets and blankets around on the dining table each day. Those sleeping areas are suitable for very small children, not adults.
@@beentheredonethatoriginals5673 Those bunks have more space than the bunk I slept in on a US naval submarine for several patrols. And the bottom bunk has a window, which no bunk on the boat ever had! 🤣

We have the non bunk Forest River version of this. We love it! Easy to tow and park. Has everything you need for two. We use it about 8-9 months of the year here on Canada’s west coast best coast.
Hey Crystal, I watch your TH-cam videos. Yes you COULD live in this, and you would love it. Everything you need and nothing you don't. I recently bought an even smaller Jayco and I love mine. My plan is live-aboard, like you're doing. These pull nicely, and by staying small with ones like these, they're not bad around town too - although you could park it at your campsite and go into town without it.
I bought one of these a few years ago for 10k. Tons of fun but it is cheaply made. Overall it’s held up pretty well for a family of four. Perfect when I go fishing with just one of my kids. Crazy cramped with the whole family. But still fun and cheap.
This little trailer is AMAZING!! I just found my new trailer for tailgating at the Texas Rangers game, college football and concerts. I'll be able to get out of the Texas heat for awhile with enough space for prepping food for the grill And a bathroom! Bunks for a nap too and absolutely perfect! Thanks for posting this vid! 🙏😊
WOW! I feel like this layout could be used in some of these truck or van conversions! Im particularly impressed with how they have a full bathroom in such a small space! I will deal with a black tank for the convenience of being able to relieve myself and shower while out and about!
I could turn that into a home. Remove the bunks, use the back of the space for a closet/storage and put in a desk to work on my computer. I love this little trailer. You're right about the cargo trailer- yeah, you're starting with a shell, but-- you'd spend about the same in the end.
I have had an older 17ft camper trailer and it was perfect for my family of 5. We had good times in that camper and would buy another one that size in a heartbeat. However our camper could sleep 6. Regular sofa that made into double bed, dinette table setting turned into a double bed and there was a hidden pullout loft over the sofa that slept 2. Had an oven too along with stove. Shower in bathroom. So all in all that older model did offer more than this new one does.
One gallon of spilt water will leak through your floor and into the particle board turning the board into a wet toilet paper consistency. After the water goes through the particle board it is soaked up by the sponge foam and delivered throughout the rest of your floor. Walking on a rotton floor is pretty much like walking on sponge. We were told by the dealership squirrel that you can always tell when the particle board is ruined by the brown glue that runs out the bottom corners of the camper. We bought a Sprinter ERA. NO PARTICLE BOARD.
I have the 174bh, very similar except for there’s a full size queen up front with a separate dinette, little more roomy and right around the same weight. I use it for quick weekend camping at off-road events so it suits my needs.
Wow this is amazing. One of the best smaller RV’s I’ve ever seen. I hate the ones that have the bed you have to always change. I could even live in this by myself. Too bad I don’t have a SUV to pull it😩😔
Buy a Toyota Sienna to pull and you'll have all the extra space to put things or people while pulling the trailer. That's what I'm going to do, in a few years for my retirement out west.
We live full-time in a Jayco Jay Light Swift 184BH. We removed the bunks. Made that space into our dining & office. It more spacious than it seems. Get walk through. Lou & Angie
Did you happen to read the comments about it man? If I didn't know any better I would think that they are fake because 90% of the comments are acting as if the thing was the best and most important thing since the wheel in fact better than the wheel! But we know its not fake
Very, very nice! Really is surprisingly comfortable looking considering the size. I would love having one of these and just take the kids on a road trip😊
Opening up the storage door in the rear just reminds me how incredibly cheap these things are made. 2x2 construction with a handful of screws and glue.
We love ours Our 1st RV just me, hubby & a small dog We actually have spent 7 to 10 days in it. WITH AWNING OUT & a nice ground pad, very comfortable Husband Kevin very attractive to skeeters. So he bought a 6X6 Clam screen house which solves that problem. CAN WALK DIRECTLY OUT OF R V INTO SCREENHOUSE, AND AGAIN MORE SPACE. WE PULL THIS WITH A 2013 Ford Flex. Has all the amenities you really need without paying a lot. Person below commented they could live in this & travel. I could probably not, but husband Kevin definitely could. WE BOUGHT THIS CAUSE WE WANTED TO GET USED TO RV ing & didn’t feel we had to impress anybody with a bigger unit. STILL, EVEN THO WE ARE USUALLY THE SMALLEST RV in any given campground, the bigger boys are curious, generally impressed with our unit. DOWN THE ROAD WE MAY ( or may not) go to maybe a 23 ft slide out travel trailer, but super happy now. Final point, narrator did a great job, but there is another storage area under dinette seat on outside window side. UNder other dinette seat the ‘ guts” or water heater, fuse box etc are located Everybody stay safe & healthy, & R. Ing is a great way to do it!

This is very nice. Just what we were looking for our family of three
I really really like this!!!! My favorite is the fact that it has an actual bathtub!!!
NicNic he showed it for about one second.
Lets talk about the half inch particle board floor and the sponge under it. Don't spill any water or it's done.
What is that?
Amen brother.....floor is a pig with lipstick on it. Water destroys particle board into weak sagging spongy unstable messes.
Love the style that is like that of the 60s-70s. Great price too.
I have the 174bh, very similar except for there’s a full size queen up front with a separate dinette, little more roomy and right around the same weight. I use it for quick weekend camping at off-road events so it suits my needs.
What type of vehicle do you have to pull yours? Does it have to be at least a v6?
My family loves these reviews bc you helped us choose some for living
I am looking at A-Frames but this is my new interest..
You won't find an A Frame for that price or even near it.
I’m not a camper, probably never will be, but this little unit makes me think it might be fun.
Wow this is amazing. One of the best smaller RV’s I’ve ever seen. I hate the ones that have the bed you have to always change. I could even live in this by myself. Too bad I don’t have a SUV to pull it😩😔
I have the truck if you have the trailer! Could be fun...
Buy a Toyota Sienna to pull and you'll have all the extra space to put things or people while pulling the trailer. That's what I'm going to do, in a few years for my retirement out west.

نعم شكرا لكم بهذا العمل🌷
I really like this little camper but it's amazing how much these cost and how cheaply they are made.
LOVE this camper!! Couldn’t believe it had bunks too!♥️
You can get the Coleman camper same model for just under 10 grand
I have this camper and love it! I actually lived in it for a couple of months while building my house.
Finally the RV industry quit using carpeting
We have a small, FSX Pro...it was perfect for our family of 3 for a week. We like our small space!
That’s a sweet little camper. I can’t wait to get into one of these one day! 😎🤟
We live full-time in a Jayco Jay Light Swift 184BH. We removed the bunks. Made that space into our dining & office. It more spacious than it seems. Get walk through.

Only thing that I'd change, is the tires!
Yep. Good for a year.
He makes it sound so good. This teeny tiny little travel trailer
Thanks. I work all the time dont have time to shop
