Yes it is time consuming, but worth it to go through it and learn it by visually navigating around the fretboard and at the same time strengthening your aural awareness of intervals (the distance between tones). This is missing in most instruction as everyone wants TAB instead of learning by hearing and learning musical specifics such as chords, scales, arpeggios, intervals, this will make you a much better musician. Thank you for your opinions and input...rock on 8)
My wife asked me to ask you if baby son in the background in this video recognizing he’s all grown up now did he follow in his fathers musical footsteps ?
Hey there, Luke is 11 now. He played for a bit and learned to play exceptionally fast, the fastest I had seen from hundreds of students. No bias, just truth. He's into Muay Thai these days. Thanks :)
Hey there, learn the chords and scales in the style of music that you love and use a metronome is a great start. It takes a long time to be 'fluent' on any instrument mate. I am happy to give you a skype lesson if my schedule will allow it. In fact I can point you in exactly the right direction and tell you exactly what you need to do in order to play how you want to. All you would need to do is follow the plan 8) Regards Burt
