Don't feel bad. My first job was Sonic Drive-In. I was there 2 days shy of 4 years. When I wasn't working there, I was hanging out and eating there. I've been in my current career 5 1/2 years, total of 16 with my employer. You'll go places.
You're good man. Sometimes, it's okay to watch someone else at your job. It may teach you something, it may be relaxing, it may be therapeutic...regardless of all that, you do you!
Haven't worked for McD's since like 2007. Going for an interview in a week. Literally a block away. I always loved the atmosphere of fast food. Im almost 40 and I just want a job where I clock in and clock out, that I can walk to. Been watching your videos to get a feel for it again.
If the environment consists of positive employees and good management (both consisting of the type who actually live up to job standards), then yes, I heavily agree with that. It's honestly what makes or breaks me when it comes to jobs in general, especially in fast food environments. Good luck with the interview, and hopefully the workplace hasn't degraded in such a way.
Everyone at work needs to have a duo like this. Because this makes it run more smoothly esp during peak/rush it's REAL good to have something like this. 😊 Esp for line/drive-thru/back-cash (if a new person is training)
@@dotsondotson Theres several buttons serve, recall and next being the most important ones. I just got back working at mcdonalds and omg it has changed from the 3 years I was there hah. I see your videos I am still learning a lot even though I closed when I was 17 in 2017 by myself. Thank you for creating these videos!

I worked at a McDonalds from 1986-1988. Fun fact, starting minimum wage back then was $3.35/hr. What blows me away is the floor tile in this video is exactly the same as it was back when I worked there.
Love your videos especially since I got hired today at McDonalds. This one is very nice newly renovated and the managers and everything seem great. I have orientation Wednesday on zoom, and then the next 3 days I have training. Doing mornings 6-2 or 7-3. Hoping it goes well.
i m amazed at the brilliance mcd's puts into their equipment design and the disciplined procedure they use to make burgers. consistent commitment to quality with the food - it is fast food keep that in mind. why can detroit build quality cars like mcd's makes burgers?
I think the mustard and ketchup would be more efficient/ergonomic if they were caulk guns, like mayo and Mac sauce. They should still be located in the same spot, but hanging side by side. #mcdonalds
I think it’s set up that way because most sandwiches start with ketchup and mustard it’s more convenient to slide it down and put the product on like a conveyor belt. But then again people that designed the system get paid way more then I do and know more about it then i would. It’s just my best guess.
@@DRAG0N1012 Sorry, I agree with its current location. I wouldn’t put it up high with the other sauces. It seems like those handles stick too far into the “conveyor “ space. But you’re right, nobody is paying me to make those decisions either.🤘✌️
I'd bet they are the way they are due to demand. Ketchup and Mustard (unless ordered without them) are on all the burgers and are probably the most used condiments, so that's why they are on the station in a much larger dispenser rather than the caulk gun. Its more efficient to have those large dispensers as they can hold a lot more product and would require less constant refilling.
@Studio69Fan I once was on table and noticed this (was on one side making food while 2 people were working on other side). At first, I thought it wasn't a big deal, but when you have a corporate supervisor (this guy came from Chicago by the way) who walks around the corner and immediately notices that, they told them "Hey, we don't do stuff like this, I want this fixed immediately" and then proceeded to explain for the next 3 minutes how much ketchup and mustard is suppose to go on each sandwich according to McDonald's standards, which, honestly speaking, there was way too much ketchup and mustard coming out of the guns that they were using. The guns that they use for ketchup and mustard in the video are suppose to add enough onto each sandwich, and if the order says extra this or that, then you just add another shot of em onto the sandwich. Other than that long explanation, I learned that the reasoning behind why they have the ketchup and mustard set up the way they do is because 1.) It's how corporate wants it all the time, and 2.) Both add just the amount needed to be put on a sandwich. Hope this explanation helps.
