- While in Ontario this week, I decided to try something I've wanted to do for a few years - ride my bicycle from my parent's farm, all the way down to the shores of Lake Ontario! The creation of Canada's Rouge National Urban Park means I even have some bike trails to try and make this work in a beautiful way!
Join me as I make the journey down and back. Here's to a healthy adventure tailwind! - กีฬา
This was helpful. I am always looking for new places to cycle and film and like the info you pass along and I love the butter tart story
So glad to hear that! I really hope that the park prioritizes making a through-route from north to south.
That was amazing ride ! Love all the different landscapes you had to ride on, and not very busy
@@bradb8572 Not too busy at all! But there are a number of blind corners that mean you can’t bike super-fast all of the time 😂
@@benwideman there is the Caledon Railway Trail and it goes from Ferguson to Totemham , just one long straight trail. The blind curves scare me
It's a great video Ben. Keep filming, I'm kinda new to biking in Canada so I'd appreciate more of your videos showing us possible routes! I'm in BC but still love to see other places!!
I'm glad to connect! I live in central Pennsylvania, and post videos of some of my bicycle adventures. But as a Canadian, I want to do some more biking through Canada. The west coast would be amazing!
Just happened across this channel, showed up in my TH-cam home page. Wow! I've been hungry for more trips locally, and I used to cycle along many of the roads cropping up in this vid years ago when White's Road was a great way to exit and enter Toronto by. The Lakeshore Trail wasn't open then, but I'd snake my way over to the Taylor Creek and Don Trails. I had no idea these trails existed. They're now on my 'must do' list. I'll take the GO train to Rouge Hill and connect up to them. I used to wind my way across Pickering with what were then gravel roads mostly, and then Columbus Rd east, and somehow through to Garden Hill, then down to Port Hope. A good part of that, at least within Pickering/Ajax is probably all housing now. I'm giving away my age!
Whatever, I've got to check out these new Rouge trails. It's my 75th yr birthday today. The day I stop cycling is the day I get old.
Btw: I just subscribed.
@@stephensaines7100 - so glad to hear all that! I really hope I'm continuing to explore and adventure when I'm 75! Happy trails to you as you continue!
I've never been on the single track stuff you were riding. I usually start from the parking lot on 16th and ride north up to Glasgow. From there it's east across Webb, up Brock to Allbright and then through Walker Woods. Lots of great riding up there. I'll have to try the southern part down to Lake Ontario.
@@thomaskuhn6541 - it’s still not quite a through route, but I had fun making one happen!
I thought bicycles were forbidden in the Rouge
Not quite. A number of trails are restricted to just walking, but there are quite a few that allow bikes.
