I don't understand why you keep apologizing for pronouncing words wrong. Your English is perfect! Just because you have an accent does not mean you cannot speak english! You should be proud of yourself! :) PS. Very good production value on your video. :)
Bo Ismono yeah, I do meet foreigners here in the states sometimes, even some of them speak better English than most people who grew up speaking English natively. Your English is really good and easy to understand.
Had the tinker for years. Awesome tool to have a ream hole puncher and screwdrivers readily. Recent upgrade to the Super tinker is also very practical. Slightly bigger means it fits better in hand and has scissors and pliers which are really nice for little things rather than the slightly bigger jobs that the leatherman can do.
Thanks for the comment. I had the super tinker in mind for a long time, but now I'm not sure about it's size. I realized I only need: knife, Scissors and a bottleopener. I'm currently looking into options.
Adamast is not a semi-metal at all, it is a non-metal and is even separated from the metals section in the periodic table. Carbon is not a semi-metal it just conducts electricity (not even very well)
Amazing video, commentary, video quality, lighting everything as a whole is very very well done. There's a lack of these kind of videos about EDC on TH-cam, wish there was more like it.
I love my Victorinox Super Tinker. It has a phillips screwdriver, which is way more useful than a corkscrew. It is also fairly compact and has the most useful tools. Great video!
The Supertinker is my favorite celidor scale SAK. My favorite Alox is the Electrician, which is more solid as a work knife. I have a Compact (#2 celidor missing some tools) and a Pioneer X (#2 Alox a little heavy for edc imo)
Enjoyed your video. Most edc videos are apocalyptic, zombie, crazy stuff. Yours is practical and exactly what serves you best. May not suit my or others needs fully but it is your life needs.
I've carried both the Victorinox Tinker and Super Tinker and think both are solid light-use multitools for EDC. The screwdriver has come in handy for me more than a corkscrew ever did (ymmv, of course; I'm not a drinker), likewise the punch tool on the super tinker is something I've used more than expected. Victorinox scissors are a mixed bag; they're fine for very light applications, but not much else. That said, that's about all I'd use small multitool scissors for anyway, so it's never been a serious problem.
My main knife, and one you might want to look into, is a Victorinox Compact. I also have the Super Tinker but I find the tool selection on the Compact much more practical and slimmer. It also comes with Plus scales.
Thanks, Fredito! The compact is almost the same like the one I have. I never use a corkscrew, which is why I like the Super Tinker. The Philips screwhead makes more sense for my use
The Pico looks pretty cool. But I currently just use a Stabilo Worker+, because I a) prefer gel pens and b) the softtouch grip is easier for me to hold
Nice, I usually just have a knife ( either case med stockman, delica, or sak alox electrician) Fisher space pen, phone and wallet. It gets me through the day without bulky pockets.
Guten tag Herr! For the sake of English speaking friends in the US I will continue in English although I do speak fluent German. Years ago I lived with my family in Wolfenbüttel where my mother grew up. The Kubaton is a great tool and greatly admired by those of us who study Ju-Jitsu. Well worth learning and quite formidable. I have carried the Victorinox Super Tinker for over ten years now and love it. The perfect blend of tools and function that make every day tasks easier. It is very easy to use and has proved durable even under rough use. Cheers, and keep up the great content!
+Timothy Brown thanks, Timothy. Do you carry a kubotan as well? And do you train just Jitsu? The super tinker is getting more attractive by the minute.
Bo Ismono Ju-Jitsu and Kali knife fighting are my two primary practices right now. I started with Shorin-Kan Karate several years ago which focuses on incorporating tools at hand. The knife techniques work very effectively with the Kubaton in my mind while being a less than lethal option. Being able to defend without taking a life is a must. Here in the U.S. I am licensed to carry a firearm but I prefer not to use it; only as a very last resort. Asian martial arts are focused on preserving life and appreciating all life with respect and honour which I admire and hold to as a Christian. If you get the Super Tinker and do not like it for any reason I will buy it from you! I never use a corkscrew and this model has a philips screwdriver that is very useful. It also uses the best stainless steel I have experienced and holds a good blade edge. I have one of the other Victorinox tools that has little pliers and a magnifying glass, both I never use and it is bulky so I leave it in my car. My Super Tinker was a gift to self while visiting Switzerland many years ago and has been all over North America and Europe with me!
+Timothy Brown Timothy, I like the way you think and your philosophy about self defense. Kudos to you. I haven't done lots of knife training yet at ninjutsu, but I need to do it for my blue belt I believe.
It has been over a year now and I wanted to follow-up and see if you finally got the Super Tinker? I just lost mine after nearly 13yrs of carrying and using it daily. That was a sad day indeed!.. I immediately ordered the same model again and carry it in asmall pouch on my belt. Several months ago I also purchased the Benchmade Osborne 940, which is fantastic, small knife, but I don't think it is allowed in Germany. Primarily because the blade locks, and it can be opened very quickly with one hand. Greetings from the U.S. Tim & Heather Brown 😀
Hey Timothy. No, I haven't gotten around to buy one yet, because mine is still in pretty good shape. Furthermore I got my I on an alox. I wish the tinker would be available in alox.
If you're still debating getting the super tinker, I highly recommend it. It's not as slim as your spartan or the compact but it's hard to beat having scissors and a Phillips driver on one tool.
+Mike Grinnell 😂 I always forget thos rules as well, Mike. The leatherman style cs is no self defense tool. The blade is just about 4cm long. And having one means of self defense is better than none. Having a different colored skin got me some beating when I was younger. And I got mugged once as well. After those experiences you think twice not to go unprepared. At that time I wasn't very good in martial arts either. Always stay safe, mate 😉 and don't forget about those rules.
I've been using Victorinox Super Tinker for some time now and you will not make a mistake If you buy one. In my opinion, it's the best knife/multitool for everyday lite tasks. Great video, keep up the work!
Replaced my kubotan and Fisher space pen with a tactical pen. I don't write too much so didn't mind the metal Fisher pen, and same goes for the tactical pen which is quite heavy.
I found a tactical pen to be to big overall. The thickness combined with the length was more uncomfortable in my pants pockets than a space pen and a "regular" kubotan combined. Furthermore I found the pen to be more difficult to deploy out of my pockets.
I carried the victorinox spartan for a long time but have switched to the tinker, the only difference beeing a philips instead of the corcscrew (that I find is pretty useless, both in everyday life and as a corcscrew). All other stuff on the tinker/spartan is something I use a lot. For a scissor, I carry a leatherman micra. This is a good combo, even though I am tempted to get some better pliers, like the leatheran signal. :)
So if you are getting into watches, there is a swiss company called luminox. They've been used by U.S. special forces for around 25 years and have a reputation for being indestructible. Many of them carry the military feel but there are a few that are more subtle, the Atacama being one of them. I personally own a 0881 model and it is a fantastic watch. All of these watches have are dive style ones are waterproof to 600ft. All luminoxes have tritium lighting for each hour, the hour hand, the minute hand, the second hand and the rotating bezel (used to indicate oxygen left on dive). Hopefully you can give one of these a try. Cheers
+Albino Neopolitan thanks, mate. ✌️ know Luminox. I would love to get one one day, but it is not high on my list. One day you would love to have a Tudor or grand Seiko first.
+Ducati NYC Vlog yeah, the short video in particular is very well made and awesome. I just watched the new blog with the magic arm. I think you should do the linear view on that camera. So have a wide view on the helmet Gopro and a linear view for the camera that is pointed at you. Because that camera doesn't show much of the ride anyways, so it should concentrate on you and the headlight (which is awesome by the way. I wish they made one shaped for the mt07)
I have the super tinker. Good scissors, but i prefer the Leatherman CS for the nailfile and the short blade, and the super tinker remains in my workplace.
hy Bo Ismono, nice video , well done. my edc is almost similar, instead of victorinox Spartan I have a victorinox Compact , it is fantastic. it is just to layers , so I can carry easy in my pocket but complete, it has the scissor very useful , screw drivers, file nails ,little pen (pressured) , etc etc I also use kubotan as keyrings. very nice is this little pen , I have a parker jotter but in the next future I could replace with this one. regards
translation: ey, i had the victorinox super tinker, it's small and handy. But then changed to the pioneer x because the blade is more stable, it also has a pair of scissors, the corkscrew never used anyway and I just find much nicer by the metal handle shells, I also fell a few years ago a red victorinox on hard flat bottom and a handle shell broke. I own the pioneer x for a little over a year now and am very happy with it.
Super Tinker is a great pocket knife. Similar is the Climber. You should check out a model called “Victorinox Compact” It’s even slimmer and has what you’re looking for 👍🏾 Thanks for the video.
i have a rc09 by Fenix as flash light in my EDC, it's way brighter and with more functionalities than the the nitecore you're showing (about 3 times as bright, with 4 modes, magnetic charging and magnetic tale plus double side belt clip) it's also smaller and the overall quality of the fenix brand is astonishing! it does cost about twice as much, but i figured it was worth the difference especially because you will never need to chance the battery being able to recharge the included one regards fellow backpackers (regarding self defence, this flashlight includes a strobo mode, which absolutely blinds any threat you may face)
+Enrico Fioretti Fenix has some great flashlights. I just prefer this nitecore because it uses one normal AA battery. This makes it very easy to get a replacement when you are in a rural area
that's why i'm using a rechargeable flashlight, you only need a powerbank or a plug in the wall and the charging cable, way easier than buying double A batteries
+Enrico Fioretti that is very true. But I remember times in Indonesia for instance, when the power grid was choppy, then you just need to buy batteries. And in a village you will only get double a batteries.
Hey Bo! I know that this is late, but in case you were still deliberating on whether or not to purchase the super tinkerer, I would say that you should go for it. If you are concerned about weight vs application, you should consider the victorinox cadet. Great job on the video! Keep up the good work!
Hey Bo, another short and nicely made video. A comment on your MultiTool: be aware about german laws; you are NOT allowed to carry or take outside your living space, a pocket knife that has a liner-lock system (§ 42a, Deutsches Waffengesetz). The fine for getting caught with one of these go up to € 10.000. There are very few knives that you are allowed to carry that will not get you in trouble. One of them is a 'Spyderco Taschenmesser UK Pen Knife Frn Leaf' (although not a MultiTool). Has a very nice deep clip, that let's you wear it very deep in your pocket. The handle is made of a rough material called FRN - stays great in your hand. I've had it since last year and it's the best little knife I have ever had because I don't even know I'm wearing it. Just in case you or on the market for a knife. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much Cornelis! That's a lot of good information, but none of my multitools has a lockable blade. The blade on the Leatherman Style CS is even very short ;-) Furthermore, as I said in the video: I don't like carrying knifes anyways ;-) at least not as a means of self defense
+youtubesucks that's the thing with knife laws in Germany : it's not about what you use them for (I. E. A tool)but what you could use them for (i.e. Cut someone). I haven't made those rules though 😉
+youtubesucks so true. I actually just heard of a kid in kindergarten who stabbed another kid with a pencil. Horrific story. Kid is alright though. Thanks for watching my videos, mate ✌️
Am a Hugh fan of Swiss Army products, may want to consider the Alox Pioneer X, personally prefer the Field Master, the super tinker with saw added. Another very good multi tool option is the Boker Plus Tech Tool line, while the prefer the 7 due to having a saw/awl combo, may want to do some research. Big on lights, need to be UBC rechargeable, like the Nitecore TIP (up to 360Lumens) as keychain. Carry the Fenix RC05 due to a nice spread of levels 5 (*10) for 50, x3 for 150 and a x2 for 300, can use standard AA battery if needed. Dual clip. I carry most gear in a small Lowepro case on my belt, keeps pockets relatively empty, no bagging/sagging pants. Easy access to items with two zipper pockets. The Lowepro carry is similar in look/concept to carrying your phone in a case on hip. Carry a handkerchief for multiple reasons, some may prefer a bandana.
+Yogi Lilly thanks for this derailed write up. I was thinking of adding something like a belt pouch but decided against it because then I would start to carry too much stuff 😂
Das stimmt, aber für EDC wäre mir der Deluxe Tinkerer bissl zu schwer. Die paar gram klingen bissl wie Erbsenzählerei, aber wenn man schon soviel in der Tasche hat, dann zählt jeder gram ;-)
You asked, Bo, so here is my EDC. Weather/season-appropriate clothing from head to toe, including hand and eye protection. A Leatherman PS4 Squirt multitool. A photon light source. A Zippo lighter (I don't smoke, but I carry it anyway). A Buxton business card holder that serves as my wallet, enclosed with a 1 inch/25mm elastic band. A Luminox diving watch. A Gerber Mini-Covert FAST (spring-assisted) utility knife. A Zebra F-701/702 stainless steel pen and mechanical pencil set. A Glock 26 (I am licensed to carry a concealed firearm in every state of the United States).
That's awesome. Thanks, mate. I really like the idea of carrying a zippo. But I can't stand the fuel smell. Furthermore our dogs don't like the fuel smell as well. So I'd rather stay with a bic. but I don't smoke so I rely on my wife to carry a lighter since she smokes ;-)
If you're looking for a reasonably priced phone with a good camera, check out the One Plus 5. My EDC, glasses, Fitbit, Trove wallet, key ring with tile and loyalty cards on it and phone, currently Galaxy S8.
+Christopher Tilley thanks, Christopher. But as you look into using the phone as navigation on my motorbike the missing ipx rating on the one plus is a flaw for me. Furthermore I have always been a LG person, and the prices on the LG g6 have come down even further than the one plus. So I might get that one instead
Retired for two years now. Find I rarely write now, so no pen needed. My hand eye writing coordination has gone from always bad to even worse. Seems the only time I write on anything is when I have to issue a rare check to pay someone….f’it…let them figure out what my writing says…the checks always get cashed! One of the best things about retirement….forgetting how to write with a pen!
I have the pocket organizer, but I decided not to use it. Imagine getting into a selfdefense situation and having to say "hold on, mister burglar, I need to open my Maxpedition organizer to get to my kubotan" haha. It is a great organizer, but just gets in my way when I need something fast. And the more cumbersome something gets the less I use it. But it is a great organizer to keep in my backpack
Bo Ismono very true. I've never really focused on kubatons since in the US we are a little bit more lenient on blades lol. If I wasn't going for anything lethal though a sharpie a is a great impromt weapon ;)
Haha, thanks! It' basically kind of a trademark by now. I used to have an american accent because I did an highschool year in Oklahoma. But that is all gone and was replaced be ze german accent haha ;-)
Hey, is Hamburg a safe city? I've noticed in a few videos that you mentioned carrying around self defence items and it's not so common where I live, so I was just curious :)
Hamburg is not a dangerous city. It's just as any other big city, but you never know. There are some instances of mugging or similar. So it is always good to be prepared ;-)
I live in Hamburg and compared to Berlin I'd say it's safer. In the city I'd say it is rather safe. Of course, you can get robbed or jumped anywhere but there I wouldn't worry much. There are some unofficial no-go areas such as "Billsted" and other smaller regions that are unsafe due to stupid teenagers attacking people for no reason. Not too common but it can happen, especially when you're alone. Watch out for groups of teenagers, especially if they look at you and look "poor" or turkish with poor German skills (too bad if you don't speak German yourself). Not trying to be racist here but those are the stereotypical troublemakers. But mostly just the teenagers. With adults I barely ever had any trouble no matter what background they have. I always wear a knife because I live in an area with stupid teenagers. Hate them. Even when I was a teenager myself.
+Rakesh thanks for the comment, Rakesh. And moin moin 😉 personally I believe it doesn't matter how "safe" a place is, I am better "safe than sorry" so having some Form of protection doesn't hurt to carry around. It's the same thing with knowing martial arts. Just because you know it, you don't walk around using it and karate chopping everyone around you. It's just good to know that you can protect yourself or maybe someone in need. A kubotan is great from smashing windows in a car accident as well for instance.
@steamed Meatball I believe Bashir is referring to the comment from unlockthepower. The phrasing suggests a rather racist element. Especially considering that my parents came from a developing country to Germany. But I honestly am a) used to it (because racist asian jokes are still socially accepted) and b) I believe that every one is entitled to have his or her opinion even if it is racist. I believe you can either ignore it or engage a civil and productive discussion about it (which usually is not possible on the internet unfortunately), because most racism comes from a root of either ignorance or frustration in my experience, and trying to fight that just causes a bigger divide. Don't get me wrong: If someone tries to attack me physically for racist reasons, I will obviously defend myself. But luckily most racism target towards me was just verbal yet.
I love these lol. I'm looking at an Ontario RAT 1 or 2 with D2 Steel for my EDC, I still haven't decided though. You should maybe take a look at the Trayvax Contour wallet, the quality seems great and alot of people have sworn by it, I want one buy I don't wanna pull the trigger yet.
Yeah, I'm worried about sliding through cards being a nuisance, I'm looking at the Trayvax Contour, Secrid Wallet and the Fantom Wallet, I'm probably going to wait till the Fantom releases later in the year before I decide on which one to get.
Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. But I currently decided to pause wallet reviews as there isn't a lot that I can say about them without repeating myself in every video. I hope that is understandable. Cheers, Bo
Hi - new subscriber from Bulgaria. You have some pretty restrictive laws according to carrying knives. If you like to try another great Victorinox try the new "alox" (aluminium scales) Pioneer X - it is almost everything man can need day to day... For an awesome pen - caran d'ache pen 849 is one of the best and won't break the bank. Great channel - keep the good work...
Nice video as always! May I ask what kind of headphones you use I just lost my stock Apple ones and I'm looking for a replacement. Also when is the video coming out about the new wallets? :)
Thanks, Monty! I use ADV M4 in ear headphones th-cam.com/video/QXsYo233Bi4/w-d-xo.html for day to day use. But I also have the Sennheiser HD25 headphones for work. The Secrid wallet comparison videos are still in the works. Don't know yet when they are ready
Does it accept gel cartridges? I really like writing with the Stabilio Worker+ but they tend to loose ink after awhile. Would love to have an EDC pen with those kind of cartridges
I cannot confirm as I'm running a Fisher Space Pen Black refill at the moment but I did find this forum for you: www.edcforums.com/threads/gel-refill-hack-for-zebra-or-fisher.58390/.
you may want to look into a tactical pen, can replace the kubotan and Fischer and you may enjor writing with one more ;). would recommend the Smith and Wesson Gen 2
I have tried a tactical pen. I don't like the weight of them. They are slightly too heave for my liking (when it comes to writing at least). Other than that they are a great combination.
Thanks, Timothy. No, you are not allowed to carry a kubotan on a plane. but here is an amazon link of the Kubotan US - amzn.to/2qTNBiy DE - amzn.to/2qPoeDk
Hi, I started to watch your videos recently. Mainly from your backpack video. I am curious about how you carry your EDC? Do you carry them all in pockets? Or you use a small pack. I personally carry a MiniMax wallet and a Zenlet for my cards. That's all if I wear T-shirt and jeans. If I wear jackets, I would carry my Bluetooth headphone.
Thanks for watching my videos! :-) I carry all my EDC in my pockets. I think the point of a good EDC should be to help you but also be small enough not to get in your way. I do have an extended EDC that consists of a couple of items in my backpack. I will do a video on that as well ;-)
I've had a super tinker for a ridiculous amount of years (over a decade) and I can tell you it's very nice to have and will serve you well. BUT I've been eyeing a few blade-less multi tools and it seems that said multi tools have everything I would need or use (without the blades of course) if you're looking for a pocket multi tool and you still want the blades the super tinker isn't a bad choice but it takes up some reasonable pocket space and isn't very light; it weights literally 10 times as much as the leatherman style cs, I'm not kidding. Is a can opener, phillips head screwdriver, big flathead screwdriver, and a hook (which I've never used in over a decade) really worth 10 times the weight? It's up to you. Oh, great vid by the way, keep it up man.
Thanks for all the info. The weight is actually important to me, wish is why I am thinking of just getting the Tinker opposed to the Super Tinker. And considering the price I will just get it ;-)
Hello Bo. Thoroughly enjoying your videos. However, I am a very indecisive person and I cannot decide what of the backpacks you have reviewed I should buy. Is there no way you could do a top five back packs or something similar so that we can tangibly see what backpacks you prefer over the others? I realise it is an exact science but any scoring system to rundown of the backpacks on your chanel would help. Regards
Bo Ismono Thanks for your reply. I have watched all your videos; It's just the video you linked me to although helpful is now 6 months old and you have since reviewed lots of new bags such as the invisible backpack three and the boundary supply prima system for example. Will you be doing an updated version anytime soon? Thanks again for your response.
It's true that I have reviewed a couple of more bags, but the video is pretty much still up to date. I would only add the Rehose backpack. The Invisible Backpack one is still a great choice IMHO.
The Boundary is great, but I don't carry that much cameraequipment anymore. If I carry a camera I usually just wrap it into a shirt or something. That is why the Boundary is not on my favorite bags list. But for a photographer who carries more gear it is great.
Just subbed literally watched all your backpack videos today, I am trying to find a backpack which will fit all my laptop and tech in also all my school books, i need it to be a stylish bag but at the same time be comfortable and durable. I would like a bag with lots of organisers in and either a zip or hole so i can charger my phone in my pocket using a portable charger in my bag. I nearly forgot to mention, it has to be water resistant/proof as i live in England and it rains a lot, thank you for reading any ideas please let me know!! :D
Thank you very much for subbing ;-) I need some more infos on your needs before being able to give you some more recommendations. What kind of style are you looking at (urban, Business, military)? How big is your laptop? Maybe take a look at my Favorite Bags 1.0 video Regarding waterresistance (Hamburg is quite rainy as well): in my experience there is no backpack, that will be 100% water proof. Heavy rain will get through zippers or seams eventually. Probably the best solution is a raincover or an umbrella (which is what I do in the city ;) ) Most backpacks have pretty good water resistant fabric to begin with, but in my experience long exposure to heavy rain will get to every bag to some degree. In Hamburg we have a lot of rain, but I personally do not expose any bag to a heavy rain storm as I carry a lot of expensive equipment inside the bag. And one of my regular items in my bag is an umbrella. But for normal rain most of the bags I use have good weather resistant fabrics and zippers and hold up to a certain degree. But a monsoon rain like in Indonesia for instance will be tough on any bag if exposed to it for a longer period of time.
Thank you for taking the time to reply :) Probably an urban style bag and i just need a bag for laptop, tablet, go-pro and then books and pencil case etc. I carry a lot of heavy stuff so it needs to be padded. I would like a bag with a hole or USB port on it so i can plug my phone directly into a portable charger which i carry in my bag rather then having to open the bag itself. And yes i will check out that video thank you very much!!! :D
+Texual Moose lots of stuff. Maybe take a look at PX Invisible, heimplanet Daypack, boundary supply and the Rehose. They are all pretty good. Oh, and the lbb peloton
Thanks, Sergey. I just put it in my jeans pocket. It's not much more space, but it sure protects my jeans pockets. You don't want to poke a hole into your pocket with the pen for instance ;-)
+smsdelux I thought about it at first, but I found them a) to be very uncomfortable to write with and b) they do look very intimidating in a way. You know with my current kubotan most people just think it is a metal thing to fidget around with. When you see a tactical pen you straight away know it is a weapon. And considering that kubotans aren't usually allowed I would prefer them to be as low key as possible
Hi, Unfortunately I don't have a good recommendation yet. I always put loose change in my pocket, and once I am at home I drop my change into a big piggy bank to save money
I don't understand why you keep apologizing for pronouncing words wrong. Your English is perfect! Just because you have an accent does not mean you cannot speak english! You should be proud of yourself! :)
PS. Very good production value on your video. :)
Thank you very much. I guess it's just an humility thing ;-)
Bo Ismono yeah, I do meet foreigners here in the states sometimes, even some of them speak better English than most people who grew up speaking English natively. Your English is really good and easy to understand.
+LEMBOCHI PRODUCTIONS thanks. I had a couple of "angry" comments regarding my accent, so this means a lot.
Bo Ismono I’d like to seem them attempt German.
hypocrite
I don't know how or why your video got recommended to me, but man, this is some next level quality content. The lighting and grading are on point!
+Vignesh V thank you very much. That means a lot to me
Had the tinker for years.
Bo Ismono maybe the Swiss army manager then? It's a bit smaller with bottle opener and scissors and knife as needed
Yeah, I got my eye on that one. But it sure is weirdly more expensive than other ones.
Your videos are so entertaining and informative! Your aesthetic is also on point. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much :-)
agreed. Your vids are top notch! They are packed with solid, thought out information and fantastic product details.
+Matthew Wilson thanks again Matthew 😊
One thing. Carbon fiber is not a metal. It’s carbon.
+Hudson T. Oh, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info. You never stop learning. Cheers, mate
Carbon like graphite, carbon fiber is an exception. It's a semi metal as it is conductive, so ...
Hudson T. ideal for carry it to the Airport:)
Adamast is not a semi-metal at all, it is a non-metal and is even separated from the metals section in the periodic table. Carbon is not a semi-metal it just conducts electricity (not even very well)
Adamast carbon fiber is made of carbon with stringlike atoms structure so it is not metal
Amazing video, commentary, video quality, lighting everything as a whole is very very well done.
There's a lack of these kind of videos about EDC on TH-cam, wish there was more like it.
Thanks, mate! Really appreciate it. Cheers!
Love all your videos but this is one of your best and my favorite all the time you put in payed off. So awesome informative and entertaining!
Thank you very much! Means a lot. Just updated the description with links by the way ;-)
The Steinhart Ocean 500 offers alot of watch for the money. Absolutely quality stuff.
Agreed ;-)
I love my Victorinox Super Tinker. It has a phillips screwdriver, which is way more useful than a corkscrew. It is also fairly compact and has the most useful tools. Great video!
Thanks, Martin. I never use corkscrews, therefore I probably will go with the super tinker
The Supertinker is my favorite celidor scale SAK. My favorite Alox is the Electrician, which is more solid as a work knife.
I have a Compact (#2 celidor missing some tools) and a Pioneer X (#2 Alox a little heavy for edc imo)
Love that Steinhart on leather NATO. It looks great on your wrist.
+raksh9 thanks, mate
The Super Tinker is great. Fantastic scissors; super precise and sharp!
+Ron 👍😉
I have the same watch with the soprod movement, after more than a year it still runs well.
+officialpartychannel awesome. As far as I know it was just a certain batch of the soprod movements that had some lubricant issues.
I really enjoy you're videos! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks :-)
Enjoyed your video. Most edc videos are apocalyptic, zombie, crazy stuff. Yours is practical and exactly what serves you best. May not suit my or others needs fully but it is your life needs.
+Oscar Cisneros thank you very much, Oscar. That's what I was going for. Really appreciate your honest feedback. Cheers
Thanks for the input, Andrew! Helps a lot. That was basically what I was thinking. I might buy the super tinker soon ;-)
My idea would be the Lamy Pico, i used it when i was @nightschool and i loved to use it.
The Pico looks pretty cool. But I currently just use a Stabilo Worker+, because I a) prefer gel pens and b) the softtouch grip is easier for me to hold
The quality on this video is excellent! Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much, Garrett!
Nice, I usually just have a knife ( either case med stockman, delica, or sak alox electrician) Fisher space pen, phone and wallet. It gets me through the day without bulky pockets.
Thanks for commenting, Jayden! Sounds like a similar setup like mine. The SAK Alox is such a beautiful knife. Would love to own that one
Your English speech is much better than my German ! Very good video.
+XDTinman thanks, mate. German is such a difficult language. I was born and raised in Germany, but I still have difficulties with the language
Bo Ismono
Ju-Jitsu and Kali knife fighting are my two primary practices right now.
Thanks, mate. I'll probably order it soon
I've being using the secrid wallet for the past year and I love it! A great recommendation I found in this channel
Thanks, Guillermo! Glad that you like my channel!
+Eduardo Barreto awesome. Sounds great 👍
I love the presentation of your videos #BoIsmono Feels like I'm watching a commercial, or the shopping network!! Keep it up!!
+Zombie 8890 haha. Thanks, mate. Really appreciate it
Where are you hanging out that you need two selfdefense tools and a leatherman? Oops. I forgot the first rule of fight club.
+Dmitriy Getman that's a strange "fight" club 😉
Your videos are so well produced. Also you voice is great for voice overs.
+Dave Restino thank you very much for your kind words. Cheers Dave
I've been using Victorinox Super Tinker for some time now and you will not make a mistake If you buy one. In my opinion, it's the best knife/multitool for everyday lite tasks. Great video, keep up the work!
I prefer the Victorinox Spartan
Thanks, Andreja!
Will check it out ;-)
Replaced my kubotan and Fisher space pen with a tactical pen.
I can tell your a film maker. Lighting pretty nice
Thank you very much, Lian!
Awesome. So clean. Love your vids and style.
Thanks, mate. Funny thing, I have watch a couple of your vids even before you commented here ;-) Keep it up!
Bo Ismono really?! Thank u so much man! :)
+Nanyael Aguilera thanks for the input. I'm currently rocking the spartan. I miss the scissors sometimes, but the knife is awesome
Awsome video!!! The watch and the wallet are insane!!!
Greetings from 🇵🇷
+Eril Burgos thanks, Eril. Greetings from Germany 😊
Agreed. Great presentation and the camera loves you. Keep it up. Also your english is fine.
Thanks, mate.
Another nice video from you. You never disappoint! Keep going! 😉
Greeting from Italy. 🇮🇹
+Fe Bell thanks, mate 😊✌️
I have my collection somewhat similar the major difference is that I got the Mani Wonders Wallet. it was a smart choice.
hy Bo Ismono, nice video , well done.
my edc is almost similar, instead of victorinox Spartan I have a victorinox Compact , it is fantastic.
it is just to layers , so I can carry easy in my pocket but complete, it has the scissor very useful , screw drivers, file nails ,little pen (pressured) , etc etc
I also use kubotan as keyrings.
very nice is this little pen , I have a parker jotter but in the next future I could replace with this one.
regards
+angelo s. Thanks, Angelo. Sounds like a great EDC. I guess I need to take a look at the victorinox compact as well
translation:
ey, i had the victorinox super tinker, it's small and handy.
Have a look at the Victorinox Pioneer X and Compact. I find them the best compact swiss knives around... Thanks for your videos!
+Josep Jordi thanks , josep. And thanks for watching my videos. I will take a look at the Pioneer
I have been carrying a P-38 can opener since 1985. My flight was one of the last to eat C-rations.
Super Tinker is a great pocket knife.
Similar is the Climber.
You should check out a model called “Victorinox Compact”
It’s even slimmer and has what you’re looking for 👍🏾
Thanks for the video.
I love your channel i hope to see more edc video!! :-))
i have a rc09 by Fenix as flash light in my EDC, it's way brighter and with more functionalities than the the nitecore you're showing (about 3 times as bright, with 4 modes, magnetic charging and magnetic tale plus double side belt clip) it's also smaller and the overall quality of the fenix brand is astonishing! it does cost about twice as much, but i figured it was worth the difference especially because you will never need to chance the battery being able to recharge the included one
regards
fellow backpackers
(regarding self defence, this flashlight includes a strobo mode, which absolutely blinds any threat you may face)
Hope you get that hitch and timber one day. I too have been wanting something from them. Of course you'll need a nice new alox SAK to go with it 😉
Yeah, those are great. The price is probably justified as well, but I just can't afford it right now. one day though ;-)
Hey Bo! I know that this is late, but in case you were still deliberating on whether or not to purchase the super tinkerer, I would say that you should go for it. If you are concerned about weight vs application, you should consider the victorinox cadet. Great job on the video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Arjun. I actually just ordered the Victorinox Manager, because I wanted something small first. But I will get the Super Tinker eventually ;-)
Fantastic videos, great insight. Thank you!
Swiss super tinker is a good knife. I’ve owned one for ages.
Good to know. Thanks 😉👊
Cornelis Steinitz a pocket knife with a liner look is legal to carry in Germany as long as it is not possible to open the knife with just one hand.
Good info. Thx. Would Leatherman Wave be a legal EDC in Germany? Or can that land us in trouble with the authorities?
Subbed for the quality of the video and for your edc. :)
+Heckies thanks. Really appreciate it ✌️😉
Am a Hugh fan of Swiss Army products, may want to consider the Alox Pioneer X, personally prefer the Field Master, the super tinker with saw added.
Don't feel bad about the mispronunciation. At least you can speak more than one language fluently. Great video. Perfect length. Thanks for posting. 👍
Thanks for commenting, Kenneth! And thanks for watching my video!
A bit late but.I really love my super tinker!! 10/10 would recommend !
Must not have ever heard of maxpedition before lol. They make the best wallets in my opinion. Pretty sure they make a pocket organizer like that too.
Definitely. Any hard object can be a good defense tool. A pen actually is a valid options since it does not look too suspicious
You’re awesome! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, mate 😉 ✌️
Love the vid Bo!! keep at it!!!
+jeffrey pham thanks, Jeffrey. ✌️😉
Your English is wonderful, Bo. Please don't apologize. You should hear me try to pronounce Schwartzvalder kirche torte.
Haha, thanks! It' basically kind of a trademark by now. I used to have an american accent because I did an highschool year in Oklahoma. But that is all gone and was replaced be ze german accent haha ;-)
I just ordered the Secrid Wallet today. I sure hope that the new wallets you're going to be reviewing don't beat the Secrid 😅😬
Don't worry. You made the right decision ;-)
Lol ive got that pocket knife in like 2010 from my friend on birthday and still use it to collect kief from my grinder :D
Haha ;-)
Really nice seeing people act like racist dipshits on the internet, rather than doing something productive.
I have seen the Trayvax. Looks good and serious, I wonder how practical it is though
Yeah, I'm worried about sliding through cards being a nuisance, I'm looking at the Trayvax Contour, Secrid Wallet and the Fantom Wallet, I'm probably going to wait till the Fantom releases later in the year before I decide on which one to get.
Cool. let me know what you end up with in the end.
You should try out the ögon wallet, really tough, good looking and easy to use!
Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. But I currently decided to pause wallet reviews as there isn't a lot that I can say about them without repeating myself in every video. I hope that is understandable.
Cheers,
Bo
Hi - new subscriber from Bulgaria.
You have some pretty restrictive laws according to carrying knives.
If you like to try another great Victorinox try the new "alox" (aluminium scales) Pioneer X - it is almost everything man can need day to day...
For an awesome pen - caran d'ache pen 849 is one of the best and won't break the bank.
Great channel - keep the good work...
Thanks, Stefan. I like the look of the Alox series quite a lot! It's on my wishlist
I recommend the Zebra F-701 for an EDC pen!
Thanks for the link. I will check it out.
you may want to look into a tactical pen, can replace the kubotan and Fischer and you may enjor writing with one more ;). would recommend the Smith and Wesson Gen 2
I have tried a tactical pen. I don't like the weight of them. They are slightly too heave for my liking (when it comes to writing at least). Other than that they are a great combination.
I am not so sure it's only buying cheap that make buy twice. I see here two aluminium defense sticks and two pocketknife-scissor stuff
good edc, hey whats the background theme music?..
Great video! One quick question: is Kubotan carry-on compatible? And where did you get your Kubotan in Germany? Thanks!
Thanks, Timothy. No, you are not allowed to carry a kubotan on a plane. but here is an amazon link of the Kubotan
US - amzn.to/2qTNBiy
DE - amzn.to/2qPoeDk
Beautiful watch. Where did you get your leather NATO strap?
Hey Jack. That is a leatherstrap from Steinhart. It#s great even if you don't put it on a Steinhart
Nice video! Where did you get the nato watch strap from?
Thank you. I got the strap from Steinhart directly together with the watch.
Enjoyed your video sir! I'm thinking of purchasing the Secrid wallet and wanted to ask you how yours was still holding up?
+Chris McLaughlin thanks, Chris. I'm actually doing a follow-up video. Should be ready next week I hope.
I carry all my EDC in my pockets. I think the point of a good EDC should be to help you but also be small enough not to get in your way. I do have an extended EDC that consists of a couple of items in my backpack. I will do a video on that as well ;-)
you should try the exo Maximus wallet by vanicci.
Bo, which leather strap are you using with the Steinhart Ocean watch, looks great!
That is the original one made by Steinhart ;-)
Great video!
Thanks, Carl !
Bo Ismono you bet - Southpaw
great "bild" quality :D
😂 danke sehr. Cheers 😉✌️
And considering the price I will just get it ;-)
Like your videos as a bag geek myself. How do you carry your keys around? (;
Thanks, Jannik! I currently use the Orbit Key. Pretty good stuff. Review coming soon!
Bo,victorinox super tinker great knife.great for edc. :)
+Maslo_1 thanks, mate. I will hopefully get it soon. Right now I'm still rocking the spartan.
Good video! Where can I get that Leather NATO strap at?
+Daniel Mendez thanks, Daniel. It's the one from Steinhart. Pretty good Quality even if you don't use it on a Steinhart watch 😉
you sir, just got one subscriber.. keep up the good video
+wikoo2807 thank you very much. really appreciate the support.cheers
Hi what video editing color mode use ?
I like the effects.
You are so cuteeeee :) I subscribed because your accent is joy wrapped up with knowledge.
+Dahlia Turnbull thank you very much. I'm flattered 😊
Bo Ismono :) anytime. If you have a minute be sure to check out comedy and poetry on my channel 🤗🤗🤗
+Dahlia Turnbull will do. Thanks 😉
Now I can't decide between secret and maxpedition cmc....
Awesome content man. And damn! Thats one of the most german facial hair have seen. Hahaha
+Ernest Lemonway haha. Thanks, Ernest
Regards
Hey, Matthew,
THanks for your comment. Have you taken a look at my "Favorite Bags 1.0" video?
Bo Ismono
Thanks for your reply.
Do you not recommend the Boundary prima system? And will you be reviewing the wndrd prvke backpack?
Matt
The Boundary is great, but I don't carry that much cameraequipment anymore. If I carry a camera I usually just wrap it into a shirt or something. That is why the Boundary is not on my favorite bags list. But for a photographer who carries more gear it is great.
Hey bo! How do you wear your watch and fitbit? Do you wear them at the same time or you mostly wear your watch when dressing up? :)
Hey Emmanuel.
I actually wear both at the same time. I just got used to it ;-)
you rock Bo!!
+kghfcjktcghgctkgttcgk you rock, mate 😉 ✌️
Maybe take a look at my Favorite Bags 1.0 video
Regarding waterresistance (Hamburg is quite rainy as well):
in my experience there is no backpack, that will be 100% water proof. Heavy rain will get through zippers or seams eventually. Probably the best solution is a raincover or an umbrella (which is what I do in the city ;) )
Most backpacks have pretty good water resistant fabric to begin with, but in my experience long exposure to heavy rain will get to every bag to some degree.
Bo Ismono thank you so much!
+Texual Moose you're very welcome 😉 ✌️
Love it! another great video Bo! Question. This organiser - do you just put it in your jeans pocket? Isn't it just extra space?
Thanks, Sergey. I just put it in my jeans pocket. It's not much more space, but it sure protects my jeans pockets. You don't want to poke a hole into your pocket with the pen for instance ;-)
Good point! ;)
hey, great video , where can I find that cool tech fox poster?
Thanks, Seb. It's called "Realistic Starfox". You can get it online at Society6
Why not replacing the fisher space pen and the kobotan by a tactical pen. A good tactical pen has booth functions in one.
That knot on your Kubotan. How?
It's just a regular knot with burned ends. It's regular paracord that will melt when burnt
Hi, would you recommend any brands/models of wallet for loose change?
Hi, Unfortunately I don't have a good recommendation yet. I always put loose change in my pocket, and once I am at home I drop my change into a big piggy bank to save money
