Thank you taking the time to make and share this process. Apparently 8 disliking people did a better job than you but were too shy sharing it. :))) Cheers!
Great demo! Can you use the wrap on the palm rest and trackpad? For a newbie like myself which wrap is easiest to work with and most forgiving? I know vvivid makes plus, xpo, ultra and architectural it is there a better alternative that vvivid?
Yes, actually. I had carbon fiber vinyl on my gracias at one point lol! Other alternative vinyls include Avery Dennison SW900 series and 3M 2080 series
Would you ever consider doing this as a service? I’d love to pay to have a holo wrap added to my laptop, but I don’t know who to go to for this kind of service, and I don’t quite have the confidence to do it myself.
Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. You could go to a vinyl wrap shop in your local area and ask them if they could grab your laptop for them. Or, you could just get some cheaper vinyl wrap and practice a few times before doing it for real. Just take your time and you’ll be fine! If you use a high quality automotive vinyl wrap, it "should" not leave any glue or discolor your laptop. It shouldn't dent it either, as the vinyl is just a "skin" you are putting on. Any dents would be from something impacting the laptop. All things considered, I say "should" because with everything, there are numerous factors to consider that may result in different outcomes. But automotive vinyl wrap is specifically designed to be removable without leaving residue. If residue is left, it can typically be cleaned up by wiping it off with a microfiber cloth and rubbing alcohol.
How do you deal with getting the bubbles out? It's so hard to lay it on flat like what you do and I have to spray the laptop with alcohol and squeegee them out. FWIW I'm using a different brand of vinyl that's cheaper, but it's the only option for clear, dry-application vinyl.
Sounds like you might be using a vinyl that does not have air egress. In that case, I'd recommend applying the vinyl from one side and squeegeeing the vinyl down as you go across, while peeling the backing. I've pasted a link to a video I made of wrapping a desk, where at about the 4:00 mark I show how I applied the vinyl to the desk top in the manner described above. th-cam.com/video/nmHFxhZ9sAk/w-d-xo.html Otherwise, I'd recommend using a vinyl with air egress. This is why I specifically used automotive vinyl wrap for this project...it makes application and pressing out bubbles super easy!
@@ColorChangeCustoms Thanks for the reply! I ended up doing what you suggested and it worked waaay better. Ultimately I guess the vinyl I bought was too cheap and didn't have that feature. Next time I'll buy the same brand you're using.
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. No, not yet unfortunately, but hopefully in the future. I do try to respond to comments/questions on this channel, but it's usually not until the weekends because it's super busy during the week with work and family obligations. But, if you do have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll do my best to help out.

Hello, I have a Dell inspiron 3580 laptop and the surface is not flat, it is an anti-scratch surface, can carbon be glued?

If you remove the vinyl after a year, will it leave the glue, discoloration or any dents on your laptop?
Second question, can it be used in

@@matthew_pike I'm glad it seems to have worked out. Thanks again for watching and if you have any other questions, just let me know. Cheers!
Is that vinyl easy to remove?
Yes, it comes right off. It's automotive vinyl wrap, which is intended as temporary and removable.
@@ColorChangeCustoms Thank you!
Do you have a group like telegram channel we could join in other to leran more and ask question as well

This is really silly, obviously you can scratch your laptop with the blade
You'd be surprised by how much of a revelation that is to some people lol!
