Welcome to my channel, where I show you how to use different kinds of vinyl in different ways to customize, create, and maybe make some money on the side. I'll show you traditional ways to work with vinyl wrap, craft vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, printable vinyl, etc. and unique ways to use vinyls in ways you might not have thought about.
How To Vinyl Wrap The B-Pillars On Your Car
In this video, I'll walk you through how I used @VViViDVINYLS Ghost Metal Grey Forged Carbon Fiber vinyl wrap to wrap the B-pillars of my Subaru Outback. This is a super quick and easy mod that can make worn out looking pillars look new again, or give your car a unique look or accent.

How much would someone charge for this type of work?
Ottimo lavoro 😊
how much do you charge for something liie this
I give this a B~ buddy.
it's been wrecked and that area has got a heavy coat of body filler right there
The 3M Matt looks the best. The rest look cheap, even the 3M glossy. The vivid is a terrible example to compare them to. In any case, for a wrap that can be changed at any time, it doesn't really matter.
Great video tutorial! Thank you 😊
@@karenbonnetti-ramirez6264 thanks and thanks for watching!
Great video. Looks good
Thanks, and thanks for watching!!
Always pre shrink with heat before cutting.
How about the quality?
In terms of quality, I'm very familiar with VVivid and would say they are of high quality. I have used TeckWrap before, and while it's a calendared film, I'd say that if applied correctly, it is of high quality as well. For Tinybot, I would say their quality is questionable. I have another video on my channel showing how easily the laminate separates from the vinyl, which to me, is a quality issue.
Hey man, for cars that have that seamless roof weld and no weather stripping, do you apply the knifeless tape on the inside vertical edge of the roofline, or on the crease where the roof meets the top of the body?
Honestly, you could do either way. I would go for what you judge to be what will end up with the cleanest look and most durable application.
Actually it's great tutorial Thank you, can i use cameo to make TPU or hydrogel screen protector (guard) for mobile phones and screens?
Thanks for watching! For your question, I'm not sure as I have never tried that. I would probably test it out to see if the blade can cut the TPU smoothly and to determine your force and depth settings.
@ColorChangeCustoms THANK YOU ❤️❤️ My greetings 🤝❤️
Thanks for this comparison. I was looking at these wraps to rewrap a drum set and it's hard to compare them in still photos on the Amazon listing.
Thanks for watching! Hopefully this was helpful for you then. Cheers!
Great tutorial wondering if you can add spray adhesive and a light sand for a stronger bond?
Thanks and thanks for watching. To your question, yes, but typically 3M would have you use their Primer 94 adhesion promoter for a stronger adhesion.
Bro just subscribed, your videos are going to help me so much, thank you🫶🏼
Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub! Much appreciated!
thank you, do you have a video for door frames?
No, we typically don't do the frames. If I were to, I would do it in a bunch of strips, as trying to conform this rigid of a vinyl over all the ridges in a frame makes wrapping it...unpleasant LOL
Teşekkürler. bu video aydınlanmama sebep oldu.
Thanks for watching! Sorry for the late reply.
Are you able to compare Tek R to aura vinyl carbon fiber
At the moment no as I don't have any aura vinyl. Happy to do so if I get sent a sample though! :-)
Hi friend, do you need a heat gun for this tint? Or does it stretch without heat? I have some crazy curves on my Mitsubishi Outlander 2021 (rear lights) Thank you for your time and amazing video, sound and editing, better than BBC in the UK
Sorry for the late reply. For your questions, yes to both, but a heat gun will make it much better. Definitely heat the entire vinyl area though (don't concentrate heat in one area) so that the stretch is uniform across the vinyl.
Hey do they sell that color on eBay? Thanks
Yes, it's just Avery Dennisson SW900 Gloss White. Here's a link on Amazon if you can't find it on eBay: amzn.to/4foBeUO
Can I order another instruction Manuel?
That I'm not sure. You may have to contact HPN directly to get one.
I cannot believe how much info you packed into one video. My brother asked if I would figure out how to make multi color decals for his r/c race cars, and you did all of that already. I have not looked at all of your videos, apologies if this is covered elsewhere but what is the best home printer to use for this process? I have no idea if inkjet or laser jet can do more than the other but I need a bit of guidance. Also, no need for the decals to be waterproof or need any UV protection since he races at indoor tracks, most of them have a carpet racing surface. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching...much appreciated!! As far as a printer, as far as i know, any printer that can print a good quality image should work. I happen to have an inkjet type, so I can't speak to a laserjet type. I'm running a Canon Pixma Pro 100, but I know other crafters out there are running basic $50 Epsons and making stickers and decals that look pro. As far as waterproofing, that's even better then that he doesn't need to add that. I would say that adding a layer (you can laminate it like I did, or spray a clear acrylic before cutting) might add more durability to the sticker. But then again, if they get messed up, you can just print new ones! Thanks again for watching. I really do appreciate the support!!
How do you stop the edges /sides from coming up? I wrapped a shelf and every time I pick it up I accidently touch the edge and it starts to peel back.
Hi, thanks for watching! For your question... You basically have to cut along the edge at an angle so there's not a very thin sliver of vinyl that is hanging over the edge. At about 5:45 in the video, you can see how I hold the knife at an angle to cut the excess vinyl off the bottom edge.
dont you have to choose cuttingmat to in the settings or else the thickness is to much?
Hi, thanks for watching. Yes, if you are using a cutting mat, definitely ensure that option is on.
Can you show how tint a 2010 lexus RX 350 headlight???
If someone gives me a 2010 RX 350 to work on, sure :-)
Where can I buy it from?
You can try distributor sites like Fellers or Metro Restyling
I want to wrap my roof black I have a 2021 mustang gt could you wrap the shark fin or will it always be the color you have on your car?
Yes, you can wrap the sharkfin as well. It's a bit more difficult, but definitely doable. Check out @CKwraps channel as he has a few vids on how to wrap the antenna. Thanks for watching!
Good, just to add , myself i like to use a hair dryer when smoothing out
Thanks for watching! Yes, I have a heat gun at the ready as well...just didn't need it for this one. Sometimes though it comes in clutch!!
great video thanks i really like the way you explain, well deserved like and subscribe well done
Thanks and thanks for watching! Much appreciated on the like and sub.
Great tutorial, thanks
Thank you and thanks for watching!! I appreciate it!
If I wanted it to leave the backing on (kiss cut) and have a sheet of stickers would I just reduce the cutting depth or is it a different setting? Thank you
In my experience, it's been a bit of both. For kiss cuts I have the depth at 1, and the force a little less than the standard settings, if I recall correctly.
Popsicle Sticks create more bubbles in your epoxy/resin
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the tip! What do you recommend instead?
@@ColorChangeCustoms you can also get those stir sticks by them self
@@ColorChangeCustoms I tried your method as far as using the transfer tape paper but instead of using the transfer tape paper you recommended I used the Blue Painters Tape that I already had in my stash and it worked just as good.
If I want to apply a sticker to my car. Then how will I go about making that sticker. So that the Heat or rain will not damage it. And also does this mean that I will have to use a specific Material?
For your car, you'll need an ink that is UV resistant so it doesn't fade out in the sun (regular inkjet does, in my experience). To make it weatherproof, you'd have to laminate it as well.
Did u take spoiler off to do trunk lid?
No, I was able to do this with the spoiler still on. A bit difficult, but doable.
95695 Marquardt Ville
Thanks a lot for sharing. Great video. Does this work for the front door? My fron door is not directly exposed to rain or subline, btw. Any particular wrap for outdoors? Thanks.
Thanks for watching! Generally, 3M DiNoc is an indoor material. If not exposed to rain or sun, the variations of temperature would affect the vinyl too much, as it's intended to be used in climate controlled areas. Automotive vinyl wrap would be suitable for outdoors, but if you're looking for a woodgrain, that may be hard to find unless you're good with a print, which to me looks really fake.
Hola
Why don't you use a hair dryer, because the glue is activated at 100°?
Hi, thanks for watching! I just forgot to video doing that process before I packed everything up. I did say at the end (around 3:40) to go over everything with a heat gun to help post heat the adhesive.
@@ColorChangeCustoms 👍👌
Is this good for outdoors?
Sorry for the late reply. For printer settings, I used: glossy photo paper (for the media) and high quality for the print quality. Thank you for watching, and sorry again for taking so long to reply.
What knife do you use in you Silhouette Cameo? :) Im planning to use Oracal foil, both 651 and thinner, do you have the best idea? What I can read on Internet a fixed knife 1 or 2 mm is better than the automatic knife I have now from factory.
I typically use the stock autoblade for most things, to include 651. I did by a rachet blade as well (Silhouette brand) that I also have mounted and keep at depth setting 1.
Whould of had the hood up to make my life easy but probably not best as see you use it as a cutting guide, top job amazing perfect finish.
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
Great job and nice choice on the wrap. I was going to wrap mine because they look faded, how did you get that side piece that connects to the rubber looking so clean without cutting into the rubber? I have X-acto will be using blow dryer not heat gun. I used 91% alcohol to prep it and wiped it clean multiple times. I will be using a felt edged card looking tool as well. Is there a technique to it? I dont want to cut into the rubber and the pillar seems tight around the area and I cat get behind it even with plastic flat tool to tuck it in. This came out clean and looked like you hav done this so many times and make it look easy. Any pointers? I had to remove first attempt because the edges didnt tuck in and worried water would make its way under if it rained while driving an lift the wrap.
Hi there, thanks for watching. To your questions, the simple answer is "just be careful" lol! But in all seriousness, try to wrap teh vinyl over the edge and tuck it into the gap between the rubber and the pillar. That gap is where your blade can fit in between. I use a utility knife so that I can adjust the amount of blade sticking out, and I put the side of the blade up against the pillar side and run it along that to guide the cut. Do it slowly and carefully, but smoothly and consistently (try not to start and stop during the cut) so that the blade doesn't "jump out" or dig into the rubber.
@@ColorChangeCustoms Thanks for the tip. I will get a utility kniife for the edges and try to tuck it in. Luckily I got enough material to screw up a couple more times to try to get it right. Thanks for your tips.
Do you have a group like telegram channel we could join in other to leran more and ask question as well
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. No, not yet unfortunately, but hopefully in the future. I do try to respond to comments/questions on this channel, but it's usually not until the weekends because it's super busy during the week with work and family obligations. But, if you do have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and I'll do my best to help out.
Love this video , im having a hard time finding the right color to match my paint of my car , my color is modern steel metallic grey .. do you have any idea how i can get that color in vinyl for my windshield ? Thanks
Thanks for watching. I think for your situation, your best bet would be to look at sites that sell vinyl and order some samples that might be close. Site that I regularly check and use include: Metrorestyling, VVivid shop, Fellers, Vinyl Direct, and even eBay and Amazon. However, seeing the colors on screen never truly matches in person, so that's why I recommend getting samples. For a steel metallic grey, in my opinion, your best bets in brands would be from Avery Dennison, 3M, and KPMF, as they have a lot of colors to pic from. Other brands to consider are VVivid, Oracal, Hexis, and APA. But, often times like paint, they may be close but not an exact match, unfortunately.
Super helpful to see all the options like this! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!! Glad the video was helpful.
Great job boss
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
I’m doing mine now. Just the trunk and roof. I have no idea how I’m going to get those bronco letter off lol
If you warm up the letters a bit with a heat gun or hair dryer, you can then use something to help pry them off. Be careful not to scratch your paint though. At work, we use basically a cutting filament that we use to "floss" behind the letters to cut the double sided tape. Once you have the letters off, you can then work off the remaining double sided tape, which may take some effort. Here's a video I made of the process: th-cam.com/users/shortscDhEvYPDTy8

5:59 "you can go ahead..."... It's weird listening to this as an American who grew up in Australian. Firstly, thank you for the video, because it was very helpful. I've watched MANY instructional videos - from setting up TV's, to re-installing apps, to fixing furniture... and the amount of times the person giving the instructions says "okay, so you can *go ahead and* ...." ....as if we're NOT going to 'go ahead' ? It's odd to listen to. Example, if I were to give an American-style tutorial on painting: "Alright, so I'm gonna go ahead and pick up my paint brush and clean it. Then I'm gonna go ahead and wipe it on a towel to make sure it's clean. Then I'm gonna go ahead and select a paint. I'll be using blue. Once I've chosen the right canvas to paint on, I'm gonna go ahead and dip my brush into the blue paint....." There's just a lot of unnecessary "gonna go ahead"s. Hehe.
Thanks for watching! LOL, yeah, differences in languages and culture. I used to work with a guy from Australia and it was hilarious to hear him say the word "No" (always...noorrrrruah) or "the XXX was orientated a certain way" (it's just "oriented"). But Americanized English...yeah, that's something different!!
Very good experience 👍🏼 you have sir,,,,, where do you located?? I could definitely bring my car over
Thanks for watching!
