For those curious, here is an explanation for the new skips that made RTA runs so fast. Blackwater Skip is a relatively new discovery based on a trick called Level Stacking. On PS3 when you obtain a PSN trophy, you can buffer the load menu to show up after the trophy notification. This can be used to load 2 levels at the same time, which messes with the game a lot. For this skip, I load my Obani Gemini file at the last possible moment before Blackwater City finishes loading. This causes the game to load just Obani Gemini's level flags, which marks the first 2 missions of Blackwater City complete. On Marcadia, we have the holy grail of UYA strats: Early Laser Defense Facility, which skips all of the ranger missions on Marcadia. This trick boils down to 3 things: the Ranger Ship checkpoint, the Box Yeet, and the Refractor. First, you need to set your checkpoint inside the Ranger Ship. When you do this, you will spawn inside it no matter where it is. Next, you need to do the Box Yeet. Box Yeets are an insane piece of movement tech which we first started toying with in 2021 where if you suck up a box partially, then make it collide with Ratchet in a certain way, you can get insane height and speed. Additionally, if you collide with a steep slope before the momentum runs out, it can refresh the momentum, effectively launching you again. This is what happens at 3:15. Finally, the Refractor is what glues everything together. The Refractor is an overworld item which can be picked up from any height so long as its model is loaded, which happens when the camera is within a certain radius. During the Box Yeet, I specifically turn the camera down to position it higher, putting it just barely inside the radius that loads the Refractor. The Box Yeet was precisely aimed to launch Ratchet directly towards the Refractor. Once both Ratchet and the camera are close enough to collect the Refractor, he gets warped up to the height of the Refractor itself, and this causes the Ranger Ship inside the Laser Defense Facility to load in. Now, after I die, I press triangle to exit the Ranger Ship in the Laser Defense Facility. Finally, you might be wondering why my run doesn't use the RYNO at all. This is because of Talos Skip, the newest route change in the run. This is another Level Stack, except this time I load a Holostar file while flying somewhere else. Then, when I use the ship to fly to Holostar, for whatever reason the game thinks I'm supposed to be in the Ratchet section. Not having the RYNO allows me to use the RYNO trophy for Blackwater Skip, which is about 5 seconds faster than using the Keep the Temperature Low trophy from buying the snowman skin. It also means I have that trophy is still available for Talos Skip, which saves 12 seconds. Although the RYNO is fast for boss kills, it's not 17 seconds faster, so this route saves time overall.
I think I adore boxxies, I can definitely understand any kind of hesitancy people have towards them as they look like they render other kinds of movement tech obsolete but at the same time, funny box bounce go SPROING

I think I adore boxxies, I can definitely understand any kind of hesitancy people have towards them as they look like they render other kinds of movement tech obsolete but at the same time, funny box bounce go SPROING
any hesitancy is automatically rendered null by the fact that we made a category that bans boxxies entirely
