25 years young and only discovering most of this music. Started getting into punk as I’m from Belfast and enjoy stiff little fingers. That eventually lead me onto the newer stuff so to speak. I’m now making my through the new romantic wave of the 80s. I was 13 when my mum used to play these songs whilst she cleaned the house 12 years later I’m only understanding the depth behind this kinda music. It makes me sick to think people actually enjoy ed sheeran nowadays
@@HUNTERSRD_ SLF were my favourite punk band as a kid, so raw. I know it's not the obvious choice but At The Edge was my favourite track by them. If you haven't already, i'd suggest listening to early Roxy Music, the lyrics and musicianship are amazing (If There Is Something is like 3 different songs in one, mind-blowing). Their late 70s, early 80s tunes are more commercial but I still love them. You wouldn't recognize them as the same band from 1972. Keep enjoying the music.

Been a fan since I was a teenage South African army conscript in 1978. Was never lucky enough to catch The Jam live but seeing Paul Weller play at the Brixton Academy on my 40th birthday in 2k was a consolation I can live with. Wearing a T shirt bought at the concert as I write this 🎸

Consistently been one of my favourite Jam singles. It was released I think in July/August 1979. It reminds me of that joyous times I had as 16/17 year old watching and following The Jam!

This park is around the corner from Queens Park tube station. The rest of the video was shot around Kilburn High Rd. I recognise some of the kids in the video , i did not know them personally , but they were from around Kilburn , Kensal Rise & Harlesden.
Absolutely correct. All the kids used in the video where from Queens Park, Kilburn, Kensal Rise, Kensal Green & Harlesden. The escalator was filmed at Kilburn Square. That’s an old mate of mine in the QPR top called Mark Power. One of the Jam’s best songs.
