Are there videos where you show the tear-down process at normal speed and without music? I can see you pointing at different parts and can only assume you are explaining what the parts are, or other helpful comments that would be really helpful and/or informative. I understand why you speed the videos up, to cut down on the run time of the video, but for a how-to video, I like to see all the how's and to's :) - ty again!
When playing back videos, you can slow them down to normal speed by selecting 0.25X option. I have to speed them up by at least 4X because if I didn't, they would be hours long.
2 questions: 1…2:36…What kind of bearing puller is that (exact brand and model)? I need something like that for pulling out the bearings on my shark navigator brush roll. Also, I found a 1993 Rainbow D4C in the dumpster that makes a squeaking noise on winddown with the main motor. I think it’ll come in handy for that too. 2… How can I guarantee I will not get electrocuted using water in the bowl?
That's how it's done the right way. Some people just spray oil to the old noisy bearings and call it good. Sadly that's only option for some motor like my Volta F1. Bearings in it can't be removed.
I found a rainbow 1993 D4C in the dumpster recently. The cord to the floor nozzle was cut, presumably by whoever threw it in the dumpster. Upon tearing apart the floor nozzle, I find that the floor nozzle motor apparently came loose, and as a result, the belt pulley drilled into the outer plastic siding wall. That would have created a bit of smoke, thus prompting the previous owner to cut the cord before throwing it out. But the motor was not loose per se. So I removed the motor mount bracket and found that one of the plastic screw holes had a crack in it. This no doubt allowed the motor to work itself loose while the floor head was running. What do I do to fix this problem? Also, my motor has one black wire and one white wire coming out of it. Yours has two black wires. Mine is also missing that cardboard motor mount piece. So I wonder if I should offer up mine as a parts machine online. The main motor runs on mine but it has a bearing noise upon wind down. The tank holds water but I can tell that It has been repaired with glue. But my biggest concern is how can I tell that the main motor won’t suck water into itself? It looks like it has a seal on it. But I don’t wanna run it with water in it until I know it’s safe.
Depending on the condition of the rest of the parts in the power nozzle, they sell a replacement housing and you can just swap the parts over. I did that for a customer's unit and they work pretty well.
Oh, you actually remove the bearing when it's super close to the commutator. I usually just crack the old bearing off in the vise, especially when dealing with Ametek motors 🙃

Awesome video really enjoyed it, I’ve yet to get a rainbow, not sure if Available in Australia

Oh I can remove any bearing. Might not be anything left of the motor, but I could remove it. 😂😂😂

That unit belongs in the dumpster. Not worth repairing.

Well that's one way of doing it I suppose. 😁
Omg that is cool 🤯
Thanks!
That's just like a dirt devil hand vac
And a broom vac
I would guess that design to be from more like 1983, not 1993! It would have looked pretty outdated by that time
Well oof
I need a new belt for my rainbow power nozzlw
I get my parts from eBay.
