    I bought K1 Max because it was on sale and thought that it would tide me over. That I would get a proper Bambu printer later. I still feel that I will eventually get a Bambu Carbon X1 but I was so impressed with my K1 Max, which has been flawless from day one, I bought a second one. Then as I was able to quickly iterate my ideas without hiccups I got another. I feel embarrassed to say now I own 4 of them. Previously for prototyping, I used to think that the quality and resolution of resin printers were so good that I could never make do with a filament printer. But the truth is resin printers are so messy, finicky, and time-consuming that I started dreading the thought of printing on them. I rarely use them anymore. With ease of use of the K1 Max, you can draw up your ideas and send them directly to your printer the same way you send a document. I actually have more headaches with my regular paper printer than with my K1Max. I tell everyone that it is so easy now, that if I were a kid today, the K1 Max would be by far my favorite toy by a long shot. Ease of use and reliability go a long way. If things continue to improve at this pace 3D printing will finally go mainstream. Now it's time for someone to do the same for resin printers the way Bambu did for FDM.

      Hey nothing to be embarrassed about. Having 4 K1 Max is easily better than 2 X1C if you have a lot of part quantity needing to be printed. Im glad theyre working out for you. Im actually considering getting more as well lol. I might get more P1P though. Not sure!! hahaha

    As a Prusa owner, it's both funny and sad how badly Prusa missed the boat with it's MK4 and XL.
    They've went from market leader to lacking so fast.
    Technology is changing fast, and Prusa needs to adapt fast because many companies who have fallen behind never recover.

    Hey. A comparison video would be nice on the x1 and k1 variants. I ordered a k1, 2 days ago on a flash Amazon sale so I am looking forward to getting it. The k1 max was twice the price so for now I will try the k1. I have quite a few printers already but this will be my first core xy. Hopefully I get a updated version. Lol. I just happened to find your channel. I like it so far and watched quite a few videos. You earned my sub for sure. Cheers from Canada

      First, thankyou very much for joining the channel!!! :D
      Also, I think you will enjoy the k1, I honestly love my k1 and k1 max, but if you dont get the new extruder I would ABOSLULTLY get the new one asap. It has a white spring operated ptfe tube clip. I do enjoy the x1c more but at 3 times the price, the k1 is a WAAAAY better deal. The x1 series + AMS just offers some really nice convenience features.

    Thanks for this video! I had been on the fence about upgrading my ender 3 max to a k1 max or the bambu p1s. I was interested in the p1s but really didn't want the smaller bed size that it has. After looking at tons of reviews i was skeptical of getting the k1 max case of all the horror stories i saw. There also seemed to be a lot of hate towards the k1 series overall. That being said, a lot of the reviews seemed to be older and i saw a lot of positive feedback especially after creality had fixed a lot the issues the printers have. I ended up buying a k1 max and am excited to print with it!

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exciting!! Yeah a lot of the issues are original k1 issues and they were valid complaints at the time, but now theyre just old things floating around still. Hard to decipher old from new without specifically looking.

      @mr.e9390 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, im glad to hear they got it mostly sorted! Do u have any tips or recommendations for the k1 max? I heard people were saying the initial build plate doesn't have the best bed plate adhesion and they recommend the pei build plate for better adhesion. Thanks!

    Yes on the comparison video but IMHO there is no comparison if the K1 doesn't have the ability to print color. Ihat is the reason I purchased a Bambu and I think a lot of purchasers purchased for that same reason.

    Sorry, I didn't see many interesting comments about k1max. They said that it has a weak body. Now, you have two printers side by side, which one do you suggest? For me, print quality is more important than print speed.

    My x1c has never worked, and bambu refuses to warranty. My first support ticket was November 2022. They just sent me a new bed, and I had to strip the machine down to nuts and bolts. It didn’t help at all. When I tram my machine, I have almost a 3/4 inch gap between the plate and hotend. I would never buy another bambu. I'm seriously looking at a K1 max

    Hey, John from India here, great work explaining your perspective on the K1 max. So I'm stuck in a state whether to buy a K1 Max or a Bambu P1S, both the printers are more or less available at the same price point in my country. As of now i am not into multi color 3D printing, but all I want is to have a printer that is fast and reliable which can print PLA, PETG, ASA/ABS. Any suggestions? (currently I own an ender 3 v2).

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly if they're the same price I would probably go p1s. The k1 max is a great machine, despite what a lot of folks say. Most reviews are old and, at the time, we're valid. The main difference is k1 max is larger and has a better on board screen

    I call the Bambu Lab printers Voron Clones. Voron Core-XY printers existed before Bambu Lab. It's just that the Voron community doesn't have the marketing budget of Bambu Lab.
    I recently had to explain to someone that Voron or moreover Klipper had resonance compensation months before Bambu Lab launched its Kickstarter campaign.

    • @hawtdayum
      @hawtdayum ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is sorta true but the Voron was/is a hobby printer. There was no "Voron" you could buy and have working out of the box. Before the kits you had to source your own parts and you can vary a design to meet your needs. So Bambu really isnt a Voron clone because Voron wasn't just 1 type of printer. I think of Voron and the FOSS community as a collection of ideas and techniques but no full consumer product that you could just buy and have ready shortly after unboxing.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of nice features from Bambulab in terms of auto calibration which is nice. But I do agree that Bambulab took a TON of inspiration from voron

    • @andreas.grundler

    First of all, thank you very much for this good video.
    The term Bambu clone is indeed incorrect. BambuLabs didn't invent the Core X-Y printer any more than Creality did. With that in mind, a BambuLabs printer could also be called a clone.
    Or should we call Elvis Presley a Bill Haley clone? Just kidding, but with an enclosed truth: As humanity, we will not make progress if we do not learn from each other and pass on experience and knowledge.
    Good thing you highlighted this!

  • @matthewlininger3881

    Are alot of these printers Bambu clones? Yes. But the issue people need to worry about is when these companies don't improve on the previous setup to make it better and their own. When they just keep copying the same exact thing the competition does without improving it then we have an issue and like you said tech advancement slows down. If all we ever got was new tech everytime that has never been seen before, nothing would be affordable to those of us that are not billionaires.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah that's very true. Though I do think some copycat clones have a place in the market. Those machines simply existing will bring awareness to the desire of the machine. Of course if it's a pure copycat and there's no innovation then it obviously doesn't directly positively effect the technology

    • @andreas.grundler
      @andreas.grundler ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually a race to the bottom takes place first. You won't be seeing much of innovation from printer manufacturers themselves but rather from the community and after-market manufacturers. For example, there are already modifications and after-market parts for the K1 Max.
      And there will also be innovations in the higher price segments that may trickle down into lower price segments after a while. For example active heated chambers will be more common in lower price printers in the next years.

    There's a lot of things that QIDI did better than Creality with copying Bambu. Things like the extruder location, belt design, and, slicer would have lead to better print quality.

    Ok, I have had my X1-c for almost a year and luv it, HOWEVER, when things go south it really sucks and Bambu doesn’t help by not supporting their proprietary parts. I mean why should I be going through 3 extruders as a hobbyist. And why don’t they replace the faulty ones. With that said I got the k1-max and except for the slicer and feeding the Pla being “clunky” it’s been great. If it had a “proper” AMS .. it would be the perfect system.
