He's actually playing the PRG0 NTSC version of Super Mario 3, not the British(PAL) one. But, yes. The PAL game shared world names with PRG1 version of NTSC.

hey darb, I'm trying to start running SMB3 in Super Mario Advanced 4, but getting the second flute from the first castle doesn't seem to work... is there a specific way of entering that zone off-screen?
After getting to the top you need to run all the way to the right and then press up, since the flute is behind a hidden door.

maybe you could run any% no warp wistle it's where you run the minimum amount of levels but you don't use warps

I'm new to speedrunning, but this game seems like one I'd super love to start with.
As for you talking about a pedal in the beginning (or a buffer?) Is that needed for this game or was that completely irrelevant?

Hawk Sandwich Not sure if you've figured this out yet or not, but the foot pedal he's talking about refers to the one he uses to time his splits. It's much easier and faster to use that rather than timing the splits via keyboard and taking your hand off of the controller momentarily. Someone in chat wanted to know how to get one.
As for the buffer: you can buffer your input on the world map. It saves time when moving from tile to tile compared to manually.
If you check the chat before he comments on both things you can see the original questions.
