So, basically, for around 300 bucks you can have a similar quality watch/bracelet for which other companies are selling for $1,000 or more. Hard to go wrong with Orient or Strapcode.

@@islandwatch As you have seen strapcode products in live, which would you suggest for the red orient kamasu? DLC coated oyster or something completely different/ Got this watch for 190 euros with tax it's a steal really.

I bought a blue one last summer, it is very cool. Both other colours look excellent too, I am wondering if I should have gone for anothe colour but the blue is the most discreet and fits every scenario and the silicon stap is very high quality. One thing to bear in mind for the blue one is that under some lighting conditions the dial looks almost black. Anyway, I would totally recommend the watch, I cannot think of a classier watch for the money.

I wish the strapcodes had inverted/female end links, especially since the factory Kamasu has inverted/female end links that wrap around the wrist nicely. The Super J is the only one I would consider for this reason.
Absolutely, the male end link ruins the bracelete, for me the only think better is the tapper, the solid end link and clasp obviously but really I dont pay 90 bucks for this.
I don't mind both. I have watches with male and female endlinks and I like them both. But if I had to choose I'd go male, because the female links make the last link completely different from the others. With the male they all look the same and they give the bracelet more continuity. I like female endlinks on a jubilee though, because of the same reason (like Rolex does, for example).
And the stuff about extending the lug to lug, I just don't see it. It has always looked right on my wrist. I mean, sure it extends a bit, but it is not like the links are flat. They go around your wrist, like on a female endlink bracelet, so I don't see a big difference.
But to each their own!
I just bought the Polished Stainless Steel (Sub-Style) Bezel for Orient Kamasu watches #B15-P and Brushed Steel Bezel Insert for Seiko SKX007, SKX009, SKX011 with Luminous PIP #C25 for my Ray 2. DUDE!!! The fit is awesome. It was a...how did you put it..."a dawg to remove the OEM bezel" but worth it for the final product. I am officially a lifetime buyer. I will go nowhere else. The quality is class. The delivery was super fast. The color-coding or matching-ness (i do not know the term) is SPOT FREAKING ON!. The fitment is perfect. I am in love with the outcome. I broke the o-ring thingy (i am new to this game). Next watch, I will have your company mod it so your team can deal with the headaches. Keep up the awesome craftsmanship. I thank you. BTW I modded a red dial Kamasu. It looks like how Orient should have launched it with the Aluminum bezel insert. Here is a big thumbs up and a sub!!!
Ive got two orient actually and the hollow end link is not always snuggly fit.
Moreover i love tapering bracelet and thats what strapcode is offering on top of the solid end links
why do you like a tapering bracelet and whats the big deal about hollow end links? (im new to the watch game)

Currently waiting on my strap code Goma Bor bracelets for my Blue Kamasu and for my newer style red Mako 3 , they will look and feel much better I’m certain of it
Mark makes it look easy. I ordered one for my Mako II, specific for it. It was a pain to install. The reason seems to be it is machined for a tight fit which is good, but bad for installation.
Just loads of practice.
I hope an aftermarket for the kamasu comes along, I’d love a ceramic bezel insert and an exhibition case back.

I've been waiting for this. I bought a Kamasu from "over seas" before they were available here. Love the watch. The bracelet is OK. at best. Mine came in with the clasp and bracelet badly scuffed. Rather than return it, I waited for these. Now the decision, which one? Super J, I think.

how is it compared to original/factory kamasu bracelet? I'm needing to finally replace mine & wondering if the Strapcode is truly worth the extra $ compared to the Islander bracelet.
Always the best informative channel about watches. Strapcode makes great quality products and the Kamatsu/Mako III is again a perfect ORIENT at an unequaled price/performance ratio. A further upgrade with some LIW bezel insert would be gorgeous.

Thanks Mark. This is the combination I was looking for, a black Kamasu and Jubilee from StrapCode. The problem is that my Alpinist Jubilee is somewhat sharp all around so I used a nail pile to sort it out. Still not perfect, but it is interesting that no one talks about it.
The Kamasu is fantastic for the money, but I just didn't care for the stock hollow end bracelet. I found a red dial Kamasu on offferup for $100 and ordered the Super-J for $90. This combination makes for an incredible sub-$200 diver.

@@reinaldtan2361 I haven't noticed a change in weight since upgrading. The difference in quality is significant. Well worth the upgrade.

I ordered both these Miltat bracelelts from Amazon, since I wasn't too sure which I wanted and returns are easy. Being an oyster bracelet fan, I really wanted to like the 'O' style here, but the brushing is completely different to the one on the case, so it looks like it was made for another watch, and the giant male end-link is an eyesore. Super-J is the way to go here, the mix of smaller brushed and polished links blends much better with the case, the Super-O is still a clear upgrade in quality but looks worse than the stock bracelet imo for reasons mentioned above.
The strap code jubilee bracelet does not fit my Kamasu, one end of the spring bar always refuses to get seated into the hole. Idk what’s wrong
Great bracelets Mark! In the future could you also weigh the watches with the new bracelets so we get an idea of how much heft these bracelets add? I'm always looking at the total weight of watches. Anything over 170g is just too heavy for me. That's why I sold my Triton. Thanks
Love that Jub whoops... Super J, but been honest I like the bracelet that’s on it anyway. Very little taper (which I like) and the push pins were a doddle to adjust. What people forget is they add heft (weight if you like) and although the solid end links will make a difference I think I would settle for just those as an ‘upgrade’. So it’s a shame you can’t just get them.
Great video. Definitely a worthy upgrade. The Kamasu is growing on me every day.
Is it really worth $85 for something that effectively looks the exact same? I find the stock strap quite comfortable

The bezel insert for kamasu is so fragile, easily scratched. I hope there will be a ceramic bezel mod...

I figured out that it is possible to use an aftermarket skx bezel replacement (OSC Atlas in my case) if you use an Amphibia style retaining spring instead of the gasket. You will have to adjust it to make it run smoothly tho.

Hahaha I am used to Seiko folded link bracelets, so the kamasu’s default bracelet is already a mayor upgrade.
Look terrific, like the kamasu but I'm not sure about the indents. Is there is a replacement bezel and insert option. with some lume?
I enjoy to the indents. It gives it a trademark orient look. It's just hard to find good inserts.

Good video, but it might be better to show us the bracelets on the watch in more detail, and with comparisons (tapering, clasps, etc) than providing what is essentially an introduction to how to change over a bracelet (something you said in the video most of us have seen a million times). Cheers!

@@reinaldtan2361 I originally bought my Kamsu on a stock rubber strap as I had intended to wear it as a beach watch on a nato all the time. So I have no experience of the stock bracelet or clasp. I bought the Strapcode bracelet form LIW as soon as it came out and I think its fantastic. With 4 links removed the total weight of the watch is now 152g. Perfect.
I wish Strapcode would do bracelets for Citizen watches.

I got the Super O for my Kamasu 2, and two different jewelers I took it to said the end link pin didn't line up with the lug holes by about a millimeter. Strapcode's customer service told me to return it, so I did. I'd like to try again, but I wonder if there was just a trick to it that neither of them knew? Think I should order another one and try again?

I bought the Jubilee, and wasn't too impressed. Given the total cost, with UK tax and shipping (over $130)the quality is sadly lacking. My first Strapcode purchase, and it might be my last!.
BTW Mark, I'm pretty certain that the Mako 3 is in fact a dfferent model. I'm sure it's a very similar watch, but with slightly different indices and hands. You're the industry guy, but I think I'm right on this. Anyone an opinion?.

Hmm. A lot of strapcode bracelets are really thick (and thus heavy). Oftentimes, seems like they are too thick compared to the watches they're ostensibly for. Imo there ought to be more bracelets for (seiko/orient) watches that have thinner links (e.g. like the uncleseiko z199 bracelet, or the bracelets on NTH subs...)

After two of us spent half an hour trying to change the bracelet on my Orient, I can only laugh at how easy you make it look. 😂 Now that it's on, the screws for sizing the bracelet seem impossible to loosen - any suggestions?
You need a quality screw driver. I had same issue with speedmaster professional bracelet as well. I got a Bergeon, expensive, but worth it.
