Hello and I'm glad your Thanksgiving went well. My mama and daddy had a 4 room house and heated it with a wood stove. I would walk in and that thing would be rocking. So warm but good heat. A little much for north GA, though. Enjoyed the video and seeing all the work going on. You're such an uplifting person and it does my soul good to see your family. God bless and keep you. As a teenager, our school went from 12:30 - 5:50pm. I would not get home until 6:30 at night. High school students went from 7am- 12:20pm. Those were crazy years❣️🤣

I had a wood stove when I lived in Wash state. That sucker would run you out of the house if not loaded right. It produced a "dry" heat and made the very-low humidity of eastern Wa all the worse if a cast-iron kettle of water wasn't kept on top. But that one stove would heat the entire house quite nicely if I set a floor fan blowing down the hallway. Yes, they are a bit of work--cutting wood, cleaning out ashes, etc.--but sooo nice on a cold winter night. Huge kudos on both kids getting deer.

The cold hit us here in Oregon, at nights it gets down to 20 but the days magically warm up to 40 and sunny. Storm approaching in two days looks to warm things up a bit with rain in the forecast. Nighttime lows in the 40's sound good. Have a great week.

For the Christmas tree is what I've done for years. Good and get the tree you like the most (one that can be planted), .
That way you have some memories to look back on later.

Great place to grow up...a five acre farm. Clean air.. With a farm fragrances....Learn importance of chores. Cleaning out stalls. Cow poop galore. Ducks, geese, chickens, sheep, steers for 4H, vegetable garden, field maintenance. Tractor use. Home school with pastors kids down the street and the whole church. We had a home school church!
I grew up in Oakland. Enough said. Kids don't know what they missed😮😳😖
Love my venison and love heating with a wood stove. You can't get more economical than heating with wood. Glad y'all had a great Thanksgiving !

I heated with a wood heater in a mobile home for 20 years. I also cooked on it, in it, and melted snow with it to flush the toilet when the power was out and the well didn't work.

My wife uses a template for cutting and folding envelopes using calendars. Your photos would be great material for envelopes. She uses the best parts of the photos/artwork for the "front" of the envelope and uses the "back", or sealing side for the addresses and stamps. Your "At a Glance Calendar" photos would work especially well for this. People love getting them. Thanks for the videos, Mere.

Plug wires when bad can get what is called resistance ,and can’t send the electricity thruogh it, bad plugs can be partly bad too, (basically you need a full tune up) thanks BigAl California ❤

Wood.stoves are awesome. You children will do awesome in life for sure. Loved seeing them shooting pumpkins and practicing gun safety. Great family.
Love venison. I got a doe early November. We grill and fry it, but we also like it different ways, we do stir-fried and I make venison stroganoff. I also received my coffee. It is very good.

Egg and milk wash (or just buttermilk) then flour if you like a lot of crunchy crumbs.
i always make biscuits and gravity i use caned evaporate milk after you cook your meat put the milk in the pan and stir good put it over your biscuits so very good

I use to have a battery powered wreath i put on the bull guard on my semi.

Hi Meredith we had field cedars for our Christmas tree when we lived in Greensboro too & yes I remember them being prickly & not strong branches, we never knew any different as kids until I moved to Canada such an assortment here we’ve had the long needle pine, Fraser furs, short needle trees but @ 70+ my favourite tree is artificial ♥️. Thanks for sharing your farm life.

I have been subscribed and watching all your videos for a lil over a year now. My wife and I love your farm and the views are breathtaking. I have a question, only 1 and its for Lawrence. I just recently had my total knee replacement right side on Nov 16th. I had I left done on June 30, 2022. I was wondering how he is doing having both of his done? I was 100% bone on bone, I can imagine how he was. Pleasw keep doing these videos we love them!! God Bless you and your family. I love a wood stove however, we don't have one in our house. Congrats to the kids on getting their deer and, no doubt Suzi would start if LB is working on it.
I always put steaks in Walmart plastic bag that we bring groceries home in. Then lay the bag with the steak on the cutting board and pound away. No splatter or meat stuck on walls, counter tops or in the meat tenderizer hammer teeth. Easy clean up.

Stove has been going for almost 3 weeks now. Have to open the door to the garage to keep from melting. Lol...
I love your porch. When i saw your Nandina, I thought I've got to plant some of that. It looks beautiful using it to decorate. When I looked it up, it says it's poisonous to all animals 😮

Over 16 years ago, I decided between wood stove and pellet stove. We decided on the pellet stove. The first one worked like a wood stove it just kept feeding the pellets in, and it would run us out. After 6 years, I replaced the first one with a pellet stove that runs on a thermostat. It self lights and runs when needed. Best money I ever spent. Wood pellets are @ $240 per ton, and it takes around one ton a month unless it is frigid cold. The LP truck was coming on an average once a month at a cost of $450-$575 per stop. I haven't used the 90°+ furnace for over 15 years.
The high today in northeast Indiana was 22° and this morning it was 16° tomorrow's forecast is high of 34°.
That sounds like a great deal!
We've been dealing with arctic cold on the other side of the country. 🥶 one of the lows was 9°. Today we're having a heat wave of 30° I'm not ready for winter, especially not frozen tundra/snow cold.
My youngest boy just changed our alternator on our 1 ton, that poor thing sat for 3 yrs b4 it got worked on this fall after another rig blew a hole in the radiator. 😢 then it died again, then the doors broke. Hubby finally got his sporty jallopy fixed after it's been out of commission for a few month's. Still have the main farm truck in the shop, like you ... if it's not one thing, it's another, either vehicle's, animal's, farm or health. I love your calendars. 🙏😊🥰

There is a difference between tender loin and back strap. two separate pieces of meat, both tender.
