Been using chainsaws for decades and know safety is in the brain, not in how much stuff you wear. The old man knows what he's doing by how he moves.
That was a whole new version of pick up sticks.
Some chainsaw chaps would be a real good investment. Merry Christmas!
i KNOW THAT YOU AND Lawrence are so proud of your kids. Not many children in today's world would do the work that your's do.
What a fantastic outing! A little cut'n, a little mending, and a little hunting! Love you guys.😊
There’s an old saying my husband has always said, ( I am not perfect, because to be perfect is a fault and I don’t have any faults.) So there you have it!
ALWAYS wrap thumb around hadle bar to avoid kicking out of your hand! Thumb has all the power. Retired logger good job
This is a typical life on the farm video Meredith! This was truly a team effort. Wesley did a good job on the chainsaw and Ashley worked hard on clearing all the sawed wood and limbs. You and Lawrence have raised them well. Great video. 👍❤️
Hello, I remember squirrel hunting at Wesley's age, this video brought back good memories!
It’s all good even the bad is good enjoy verymuch
Really enjoyed this video, Mr. Bernard looked like was enjoying himself running the chainsaw and fencing, and teaching the kids. Having knee surgery was the best thing for the whole family. He loves working and now he can and not hurt so much and so much less stress! You can see it in his face that he feels better. Can't wait for the next video!
Yep,, you have 2 Great Kid's..
When I moved into my new house the Builder only cut down a few of the 80 foot Pines when it needed some 30 cut down to make the Insurance Man happy.. I burned up two SEARS Saws before I got smart and bought a Stihl. Took me a month and then three months to split them by hand... Hard work....
😊 it’s all good that’s right 🤗
Look at all that firewood. My you all will be toasty warm for a long time.
helmet and mesh face guard and gloves is essential , even a wood chip in the eye is bad . squirrels hide on the opposite side of a tree to you , they are clever . wood cutting , love it .
I feel your pain. My son is 40 and I still have a wild urge to buy him a pair of chaps for cutting fire wood!
MAKE 4-5 SEATS/CHAIRS OUT OF THAT LOG. ITS PERFECT!
Love how both Austin and Wesley pitch in to help (especially one another)! Seems that's a lost art with so many kids these days.
Good evening Merdie and Family
Love the family team work ❤
Get them squirrels 🐿️ Duke 😊
Hope Y’all have a Blessed weekend 🙏🙏🙏
Y’all take care Always 🤠❤️😘 Love Y’all
LOL Some Win And Some Don't . But a New Day Is Comeing. 😎👍✌.
Sometimes with hunting the real fun is in the hunt. If we take a deer or not. It's just fun to be out there with my kids every time.
Meredith, you and LB have raised two very able bodied young farmers there, Very hard working young-uns, Merry Christmas to ALL, God Bless!!
Love how you all work together
Let that boy use that saw.
Started cutting fence at 13.
Always keep a piece of barbed wire to get squirrels out of a hole in tree.
A little squirrely hiding up a tree the farmer's pushing a stick to catch what he sees. The squirrel hiding and wants to flee and not end up a dinner entree.
Thank you all for sharing everything.God bless you all.
EYE PROTECTION...please! Love you guys ...it's a very minor nuisance to help keep from a lifetime of ...well...you know. God bless🤙😎🤙
Good eating squirrels👍
Congratulations, Wesley! First time with possibly the most dangerous tools on the farm. Practice safety every time you use one.
I knew I was missing something.
Dukes a natural go get em hound dog. Spend a day mending fences and squirrel hunting to boot, good family outing on the ranch.
Great job on the fence
good job everyone!
That’s some good looking firewood
Good family times!!!! Busy,,,, Nice days!!!!
I can only eco learning safety early I can't say to much keep your thumb wrapped around the saw bar to keep your strongest positive grip when you experience kick back saw chaps is a must many good expert u tube tutorials stay safe
It's easy to get a squirrel out of the hollow tree get a stick rub it the tree, squirrel will think someone is trying to climb it an come out😊
Family working together.....Love It
good day all around...
AH, Life on the farm!
I must say you have a lot of firewood. Maybe when you all have time you could gather it up. And chainsaws and electric fences do not mix.😮. I'm so happy you have those two children. Such good workers. God bless you all and keep safe. Have a good weekend.
Handy tip for Lawrence from one guy with bad back to another.....if yer back kills ya from pull starting small engines then change the pull start for an old 1/2" socket then you can use a cordless impact wrench to start the engine
Can't beat high tensile wire for electric fence. Cut the tress off and wire bounces back up. Replace broken insulators and tighten wire and boom finished. Cannot do that with barbwire. I use the high tensile myself. And I understand about a short, have one myself I have been trying to locate for months. Great video.
Yep, NO eye protection!!! == Sorry Mayr=== 40 years Hospital road Paramedic
Chain saws and squirrel 🐿️ hunting. What could be better than a family day.
Great video y'all!! Them squirrels better watch out for Duke!! God Bless Y'all!! Have a great night!!
Hubby has pride. We all hate to show life beating us down every minute of the day. But we keep going.😊
I lived on a farm and I like the "real" in your videos no matter what teasing you get from Wesley and Lawrence 😀
Been there done that! We used i briar vine to try and wrap there tail up and pull them out the hole. I’ve had some interesting experiences with that!
Great video! There’s only one way to learn and that’s to get your hands on it. Always check the tightness of the chain before you start it, I’ve seen them come off the bar several times. Love squirrel hunting and squirrel gravy. You all are good people.
Love the looks Wesley gives his mama!!
Meredith, could you give a history of the farm? Love all your videos, love your family, btw you and your daughter are beautiful.❤❤❤
Outstanding to see you all are teaching skills that they will have for life and use during their life time
My first dawg's name was Duke. He was a mix of Australian Shepherd and German Shepherd. He was small but, fast. I taught him many tricks and obedience commands. He was a constant bundle of intense emotional readiness to do something 😊. That was when I was 19 yrs old. I just turned 72 and still miss that dawg 🤠
We don’t have hardly any squirrels down here in rural south TX! We see them in the city but I guess they’ve yet to hitch a ride out to the country 😂
I ordered an old iron hoodie and if anyone else is going to order one, size up, it runs small! ❤ love from south TX!
Oh your children are growing up right in front of my eyes ❤ just look at Austin she's not a little girl anymore but a beautiful healthy young lady...l have hight hopes for her in the future, maybs a veterinary nurse to begin with then a vet a horse vet.Can we see them riding again please,Austin and her new horse or all of you having a fun day riding over your land. Dukes having his best life ever, what a fantastic dog.Merry Christmas to you all, love from across the pond uk England.
Hello there. A friend lost one of eye's nocking two hammer's together like yous were doing. 🔨🔨 They are hard and they split and bits fly off
No better way to spend your day, being natures friend.🐇
That was a great family day Meredith it is seldom all go's out to work great job you all thank you
Great video 😊
Lots of excitement for Duke. We had a German Shepherd named Duke that was a master squirrel and feral cat catcher. If they came inside the fence, there was about 90% chance they would not get out. He could catch them in mid air as they jumped for the fence. They knew Duke was inside that fence, but they started feeling lucky. A bad decision....
Talk to an old time telephone repairman with a kick meter, he can tell you how many feet away the ground is by reading the resistance on the kick meter. We used to be pretty accurate on miles long wires finding grounded, shorted, or crossed, wires. Every wire has a value formula for gage, metal, and length, times resistance, which would give you distance in feet .
That white spot on Duke’s chest reminds me of a dove
Juat waiting for a squirl pie recipe, guess we have to wait a bit longer
Love this family.Wesley, I notice you are beginning to walk a little like John Wayne. Your tallness brings it out. Just got to say, you are one handsome dude.😂. I’m not hitting on him folks, I’m 83.😂. One thing I believe, if you’ll just listen to Lawrence you will store up so much knowledge for now and as long as you live. I have.❤
She's pretty ❤
Love the mess ups there are the bloopers make it real
Great Video Meredith, I thing the finishing screen sumed it up squirrel 1 Duke 0 thanks for sharing
Great age to start learning about the chainsaw. There's a fine line between "protecting" kids from everything you deem dangerous, or sending a distinct message that you don't have any faith in their ability to learn new things -- which can lead them to lose interest in trying.
Just saying hey 👋 and don’t worry about Wesley running a chain saw 😊 He is a young man growing up into a man! Love your family ❤ and Blessings during this Holy Christmas Season
Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Looks like you and your Doggo are friends. Your family works pretty good together. Take Care and Be safe on the farm. Out
Keeping it real😢 😅😊
A tractor and loader with pallet forks on makes tree cleanup a lot easier.
I sure wish y’all were wearing chainsaw chaps. I sold all of mine a few years ago or I would surely send them to you. All it takes is a minor mistake when you’re tired. Ask me how I know.
So true.
I just started a TH-cam channel… we have a very small sheep farm, and I want to record my husband and son doing work here but my hubs said that he doesn’t want me to record when something goes wrong or they have trouble fixing something and I told him the same thing you said… Just tryin’ to keep it real! People like to watch the process, even when it involves mistakes bc we all learn from those mistakes. Anyway, great video and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures and your farm
That was fun!😊
Be careful at 12:55. That widow maker Tree
I havr meaning you write for so time. This is about fleas amd tickd om your critters. Try using cedar oil or clove oil mixed with water, use as a spray. These oil killdost bugs. But make sure with your vet prior to any application. I hope this helps. Also, you can find these oils where thry sell essential oils in walmart and duch stores. N ow these will be just small bottles, so you may test the idea. Good luck.
The place where yall were squirrel hunting sure is a pretty spot with a great view. 14:36
LOVE this video. Meredith. Keep on keeping it REAL
ATTENTION!!!!
Please use protective equipment when using a CHAIN SAW
ie.
Chainsaw chaps
Eye protection
Ear protection
Gloves
Chainsaws kickback and are VERY dangerous.
Work smarter
Not harder
Awesome video
I enjoyed the time lapse segment.👍
I HOPE YOU REALIZE ITS WATCHING AND LAUGHING AT YOU GUYS LOL
Why not use those trees for firewood? Where did you get Austin's "leather" working gloves? I can never find a pair that will fit me. I have small hands.
Fun stuff
Cachorro 🐶👏❤️👍
Nice to see you all after working.
Brings back memories😊👍🏽.
We used to go up on the hill with Jeep in the trailer cut up trees for firewood.
. It's funny now when I was growing up with my grandfather.
Always hunting squirrels we had an old hound dog kid practically climb up the tree. I was around 10 where I got my first 22 single shot. Well I actually got one when I was nine. But it was returned because it was too tall for me. But anyway whenever I shoot the score of the dog would get it before he teared up the pieces I get in trouble🤷🏽♂️.
And now where I live I have squirrels all over outside.
Is acorn trees in front of the complex. But last year they vacuumed all the leaves and sucked up all the acorns. I've had them penis and crack Walnut they come to my door push on the door when they're hungry. I even got something to come inside I wish I could show you the picture.👌🏽👍🏽. How to open the door put it right in the doorway good luck around inside get their penis at Walnut sit there and eat it.
I say to myself. 60 years ago I wouldn't have been doing this.
Eat Your Heart Out old man.
I met my grandfather. Admiral and Grandpa nothing.
Do you all take care be safe God bless. Your son needs to learn to drive more machinery I was driving at learn to drive tractors at 8.👍🏽.
Northern Cal prune Orchards..
An redwoods Fred macmurray's Ranch surroundings.🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♂️
Nice video
Loved you as always looks like y'all have plenty of fire wood 🪵🪓
Merry Christmas to you and your family
The mule needs the fan switch that is on the radiator that’s is what cuts the fan on and off
A 4x4 telehandler would make your lives a lot easier and safer. You can get a used Petybone for cheap these days. Rental companies would sell one for penny's on the dollar or trade the for beef. Hundreds of auctions every week to on line selling them dirt cheap
Ole Duke was ready to go!
Yall should have plenty of firewood
Anyone can get hurt
Not everyone gets better
Look after yourselves
I was praying that the squirrels would get away
