Anyone saying ALCS was better than NLCS just can’t comprehend the game of baseball. This is the league of ultimate of human beings. Playing close game isn’t always the best.
From a general fan's viewpoint, they typically like close, competitive, back & forth games decided in the ninth. The ALCS had that. The only thing better and more compelling would have been a 7-game series.
Interesting that the last time the Yankees had a 15 year drought between World Series appearances it was against the Dodgers in 1981 before they finally got back in 1996 against the Braves. This time the Dodgers are on the other end with the Yankees having played the Phillies in 2009 before it will be Dodgers once again against them in 2024.

Sorry but I Disagree 100% on your opinion about salary cap. Only some teams have the luxury to stack their line up with high payroll players. Not having a salary cap literally means it would be near impossible for most teams to finance more than 1 or 2 top tier players at the same time, Angels are perfect example. They are still financially crippled until those high payroll contracts finally end (Ohtani is an exception as they had the luxury of getting additional revenues from sponsorships etc)
A salary cap would not have helped the Angels with their poor discretion in roster building. There's a salary cap in the nfl, but teams still make unwise judgements in free agency that turn out to be major busts for franchises... and yes, there are repercussions for those poor choices. And I'd hardly consider the Angels a small market franchise we should be shedding tears over.
@@Adrian-zw6sc My reference to the Angels is only illustrate the point that "most teams" can't be competitive enough by just having 1-2 top level players because no player is going to be perfect every year and any player could get injured regardless of their age or position. Its also common sense that players performance and injury risk gets worse with age. This is not to create excuse for teams making bad decisions, but a cap is needed whether to salary or contract duration otherwise you are going to keep seeing the same trend of top level players always hovering around 2-3 "wealthy" teams or unbalanced teams like the Angels never reaching about .500 as you can't be competitive with just few players even if they are MVP level
Just in the last ten years, the Rays, Brewers, Guardians, 2023 Diamondbacks, & 2015 Royals have defied your claims that only top tier payrolls can compete for a pennant. There are various means by which rosters can be built. The foundation, regardless of wealth, starts by the great equalizer... an organization's minor league system. Player evaluation, efficient draft analysis & selection, and player development pave that foundation. The Mets, Yanks, and Dodgers do have a lot of star power, but no, the top 2 - 3 payrolls do not hold a monopoly in owning all of the best talent. My team isn't one of those big spenders, yet I'm fine with the idea of having the David's and Goliath's competing on the same playing field. The role of a true underdog or dark horse can't be under-estimated in the entertainment arena of sport. It makes it all the sweeter to see a Tampa taking out the mighty Yankees, or the Tigers taking down the Astros, or the Royals eliminating the Mets. Let this pro league stand uniquely apart from its counterparts in not adopting a salary cap. Rich man ~ poor man ... thus is life.
The Dodgers are a good team. The only reason The Mets didn't beat them was because That Met Magic didn't happen at the right times. Met Magic. Magic. It's very elusive at times. It's hard to get a grip on it. It comes and goes. And Comes Back.
If the Guardians payroll is a fifth of the Yanks, then I'd say they're doing alright in that dept considering NYC has 1️⃣3️⃣ times the population of the Cleveland metro area. Btw, last off-season you were chewing out owners for not handing over the mega💲💰for the likes of Blake Snell, Cody Bellinger, and Jordan Montgomery. So how did that work out?🎃 The smart owners aren't in the business of foolishly spending on 'lottery tickets'. They leave that for the suckers🍭.
With all the dollars the Yankees have invested in their club over the decades, this is only their 2nd pennant in the last 20 yrs. So how should it make sense for a smaller market team to risk poor value per dollar returns on overpriced names. Detroit has already gotten burned going that route... courtesy of Javier Báez, Jordan Zimmermann, Miguel Cabrera.
Yamamoto will help the Dodgers big to win the WS and Ohtani will finish the Yankees with another walk-off HR in Game 5 or 6. Sorry Ben, but the Unicorn and his team 2024 will go beyond your legit analytics as they have so far.
