@ I give credit where it’s due. As much as I hate to admit it, the Dodgers were pretty much set from the beginning once Ohtani joined the team, normally I don’t praise the Dodgers, but I know a winner when I see one.
Nothing...nor anyone could deny this Dodgers team from taking over the playoffs... The NL West Championship, the NLDS, the NLCS, and ultimately The World Series! Doc (Dave Roberts) did a masterful job juggling the lineup on the field and in the batting order, and not to mention the bullpen staff! The "bullpen games" were more successful than not during this time! All the experts said that The Dodgers would not last with just three "starting pitchers"...But they did! A masterful job in conjuring up a winning pitching staff! I will tell you all....the game has changed...I've been an old-school fan since the late 60s and love how Doc has managed this team and how we really don't have a "closer" any longer. It's about the situation of the game...I mean, he put in Kopech and Treinen (their high-end relievers) early, around the 5th or 6th innings to shut down the opposition to give the team a chance to come back offensively, and it had paid off more times than not! Despite all of the injuries to key players and the decimation of the starting pitching during the season, they came through, picked each other up, and got the job done! The front office was brilliant in obtaining such key players at the trade deadline this year. Kopech, KK, and Edmon especially! So looking forward to the new season in 2025. GO AZUL!!!!
Although Ohtani did not have a great world series. He had a overwhelming spectacular season. And was the biggest piece to the Dodgers being in the post season. I couldn't be more excited for him. Especially after spending so many seasons with a club that couldn't match his talent. Then to come to LA and win a chip in his first season with the Dodgers. Watching this now, that Padre's series feels like it was so long ago even if it was only 3 weeks. It felt like a series for the ages. Even if it was only a 5 game division series, neither the Mets nor Yankees gave the Dodgers a challenge like the Padres did. I feel like we should thank them for getting the Dodgers revved up for the rest of the post-season.

That Ohtani Homerun Against San Diego told me this year was going to be different They jumped out on us three nothing I was thinking oh no here we go again and that jolted everything changed everything
For us who we have seen and follow the rivalry between NY and the Dodgers, watched the games on TV since Valenzuela pitch that 5-4 game to turn things around to win the series, watched the games and saw Mike Brito holding the radar gun to every Dodgers pitch behind home plate, seen not do great outcomes and also sweet memories, this series has a very sweet taste.
For those that don't understand, Joe Davis' call of "she is gone.." is perfect as he specifically / normally calls, "it is gone..." for every other home run call out of respect to the greatest announcer of all time Vin Sculley who called every home run as "she is gone" which he did with such regard with Gibby in 1988.
