This is a great take Bill, thank you for sharing from your past experience and similar examples. History tends to repeat itself and this makes AI less intimidating, there will always be a place for an authentic human voice.

The introduction of fast-food restaurants didn't kill fine dining. Yes, some people will opt for the cheap, quick slop. But they wouldn't have paid for a gourmet meal anyway. And they're not the target audience of the master chef. Discerning customers will always choose quality.

Unfortunately, I just lost a long time recurring narration client yesterday due to AI. Strange how kismet this video ended up being.
They saw fit to torpedo three years of collaboration without so much as a complaint about my quality of work and punctuality just because it was cheaper and (marginally) faster. I'm lucky that they at least didn't non-consensually clone me from my previous submitted work, at least, and they went with a generic model.
Ah well. Just business, I guess. There will be more opportunities in the future. Hopefully.

In my humble opinion...it's not the technology, rather the shortsightedness of the client and it will bite them trust me. I change channels when I hear AI replacement. You will find a new client because I want to hear you. 😊

Sir, have you watched AI covers? I was surprised how soulful some of the Eric Cartman or even plankton covers were. Is this not relevant/concerning? Maybe its different as its not exactly purely generative
