- At first, when a dog ran into the Brunswick hospital, it caused pandemonium. Nurses tried to shoo the dog out the door, but the huge canine stood its ground. It had something in its mouth, and this was clearly important. Nurse Angelina Potter was the first person in the hospital to take a second look at the bundle the dog was carrying so carefully. What she discovered wrapped inside a blanket brought tears to her eyes, and prompted her to call for immediate help. The discovery changed her future, and the dog’s too.

It's sad to say that dogs have better instincts and compassion than most people, but if (most) people had the same compassion that dogs (and most animals) do, this world would be a much better place!

I am a nurse. I would recognize a hospital baby blanket anywhere. Of course I would check it, and take care of the hero dog who had brought the baby in.

This Beautiful Dog is a Hero in my book. He saved the life of a Baby. That a human being just threw away . He had the instinct to stay until the baby was safe. And in turn he found a forever home. The Nurse deserves a medal for listening to the dogs plea for help. And now the Nurse has a family of her own.. Thanks to a Brilliant Canine that wouldn't give up ..
Border Collies are great/smart dogs. High energy they are but a joy to have.

What a beautifull story. My wife, son and I were on a week-end trip when we spotted a siamese cat in the fields. He was dirty and wounded. Siamese cats can be very firece so we approached very carefully and the cat followed us in the car, installed itself at my wife's feet and purred. He did not stop for 24 hours. We went to the vet to get help and find his family. Turned out he was abandonned so we adopted him with lots of love to give and home protection to deliver.

I am not a nurse but I am a dog person. Yes, I would have done exactly what the nurse did. So very happy that everything turned out the way it did because it sounds like three lives were saved that day. The baby's, the dogs and the nurses. God definitely was watching over all of them that day 🙏

Im speaking in general not just on this story. I was burned real bad in a house fire my hands being the most burned on my body..the day before the fire someone I knew stole something and i didn’t have nothing to do with it or aware that they did and when going out the store the alarm went off. Instead of being honest I freaked out and threw the earrings to the side bc I didn’t want to go to jail for something I had nothing to do with. Make a long story short while in a coma God told me that was my slap on the wrist basically and for me not to do it again bc it was considered stealing still and not being honest. I woke up out the coma crying telling my family the encounter I had.

No one had cared for the dog but the dog still cared about humans after being dumped. We could really learn a lot about forgiveness from the animals that are abused but still find it in their hearts to trust someone and even save a life.

I have a Vizsla dog, now just turning 4. When he was about 8 months old, I had him out walking a pubic walkway and off lead [as he always is]. I had stopped to talk to a lady who was also out walking her dog. We were approached by a man who at that stage was about 75 ~ 100 metres away. My dog started to growl, a low rumbling growl. This was so unlike him as he is incredibly affectionate and it embarrassed me somewhat. I tried to calm him but he came and stood in front of me - between the approaching man and myself. His growl became more noticeable and his heckles went up. The area we were in was not too far from the Public Hospital. When the guy was say 30 metres away, it was obvious to me that he was out of the mental health unit of the hospital. It amazed me that my dog [so young as well] had identified at that distance, the approaching man was "not normal" and may have been a threat to me. Dogs are just sooo perceptive, we as humans do not give them true credit. The old saying - "A dog is mans best friend" didn't become folk lore without good reason!
Ii would approach the dog exactly how Angela approached it with talking softly to see what was inside the blanket..❤ That dog had a good heart to trust Angela to the fullest!! All tho he was all alone on the street without a home until he met her and got his forever home with the baby

Wow, this made my day. I've heard other incredible stories of animals asking people for help, like this one where a adult duck at a park bypassed all the other people and went to a police cruiser to get the officers for help, and proceeded to lead them to a storm drain where her baby was stuck. People don't give animals credit for their compassion, even though they show a great deal more of it than many humans, yet we use the term "animal" as derogatory to compare them to people, with our use of "humanity", or "inhumane" as if we are all more civilized and compassionate than animals. It should be the other way around. Animals aren't cruel or vindictive, only humans. That dog showed more "humanity" than the people who put the child in the trash, in the freezing cold, instead of dropping it off at a hospital, church, police or fire station.
This dogs 🐕 actions really enforces the fact that ‘Dogs are truly Man’s Best Friend’ ! Also, it makes believing in the fact that there are people who have kindness and compassion in their hearts ❤️. What this one nurse 👩⚕️ did, when all others showed no interest in the dogs actions while carrying the little bundle in his mouth, is truly a testament of the kindness and compassion she showed to the animal as well as the baby. Then welcomed him into her life along with the baby he knew. This is the kind of story that you would tell your grandchildren. All the best to both you and your adopted family.😊❤
