- A potentially deadly situation is evolving on a city bus. Two armed men have taken the driver hostage, and threaten to hurt the passengers if he doesn’t do what they want. What they don’t know is that there is a police dog on board. And this is not just any police dog. He’s a veteran of more than 300 arrests, and he would do anything to protect his human. The bus driver is glad to have an ally on board, and readies himself to do something crazy. What the dog and the driver do next will leave you speechless!

Been on a city buss when a pedophile passed a profocitive note to a child. His father was the buss driver. Driver said buss had problems and pulled off the road. Finally cops came and arrested the creep.😮

We forget how well trained police dogs are, and the little girl recognized the dog's signals. She knew what to do and what not to do- thanks to the dog alerting her. He waited until she was safe and began making his moves!

You do not mess with a highly trained police canine who's a German Shepherd, and Maggie was brave and intelligent.
All animals can smell human fear, because of the scent humans put out when scared. But dogs like this are highly trained and are even more adept at sensing something wrong with people. This dog is amazing as is the little girl whose father taught her well. Glad to hear that the trash was swept off of the bus.

Congratulations to Bear and his trainer officer they did a Good job . He decided not to leave cos there was a dangerous situation despite the owner little girl was leaving.
Also thanks to alert and smart driver he saved many lives . They both earned and deserved the medal. Also little girl and dad earned good Thanks too.

A person can't help but admire that little girl for her sharp observations and quick thinking. Many people believe animals can't think and plan, but I'm an old man and I've been around them a good part of my life, so I know different. Bear's training and natural instinct kicked in the second those two guys entered the bus, because did you notice how his first action was to position himself in front of the little girl to protect her at all cost. A quiet, subtle move, but it was there just the same. From that moment on, he was willing to lay down his life to keep her and everyone else from harm.

A person should never feel embarrassed or silly for showing emotion, especially after coming across a situation like this video portrays. That shows you are a lady with a tender heart that cares about people and their surroundings. You certainly can't be faulted for that and I wish more people were that way. If a story about a little girl in a very dangerous situation and her dog that would do anything to protect her didn't bring a lump to a viewer's throat, then I don't know what would.
I love these videos because they show real life situations yet somehow seem to end on a happy note. There is enough sadness in the world without having to come here and see more.

Oh yes! A canine officer will always be, even retired! They were trained to be a policedog and when humans are in danger, they were ready for the service!

My daughter has a Belgium Mal police K9. That dog is the sweetest dog ever until she goes on duty. Seeing her take down an abusive adult then go to comfort the child and be so sweet and caring was amazing. That child immediately felt protected and the dogs love. We don’t give dogs enough credit for how smart they are.

Yes, I've see Police K9s. A well trained K9 is wonderful partner and guardian of Justice. Well done Maggie and Bear. Maggie deserved a medal as well. She was attentive to her dog and did exactly what she did. Her parents must be extremely proud of both Maggie and Bear. I have had two dogs in my lifetime that would have laid down their lives to protect me. Training is fabulous but the bond between dog and owner can be pretty miraculous. It was fortunate Maggie's father was avery respect, retired Police Office, meaning his call to his previous Station was taken seriously.
Maybe it's time to have more Police trained K9s in the community on volunteer duty with plainclothes Police Officers, both retired and active.

It's an elite unit. Yes, there should be more. Have you seen the true life movie about the policeman in Rhode Island who had ADD or some learning disability and got a rescue dog that had been returned to the pound twice? He trained with that dog, but it wouldn't always mind. But that dog found a murdered body buried under a sidewalk in a back yard (when everyone thought the dog had screwed up) and it found a little boy lost in a woods and saved his life. Nonstop wonderful story.

Bear only added years to his age but his skills and instincts have never faded.
This breaks my heart to realize how brave and loyal dogs like bear are and knowing how many have been killed and crippled saving lives and doing their best to protect others. God bless them all. I'm 65, an old cold warrior Chief of Fire Direction from the early 80s before they started enlisting army dogs as they do now but i have great respect for them and their human teammates bless them all
