    NIV Proclamation-Red Goatskin, Red Ribbons, and Red under Gold. I definitely would purchase one.

    I’ve been looking forward to this video! I managed to acquire a used NIV1 and really love it! I’ve been an ESV guy for over a decade, but I’ve really come to love the NIV as a translation!

      @@timwildsmith A question for you if you have the time: for the past month or so I’ve been searching for an NIV that can serve as a daily reader (a “daily driver” Bible, if you will!). I’ve basically boiled it down to my Allan NIV1 or a Schuyler NIV PSQ. If you were in a position where you had to choose one or the other for daily reading, which would you choose?

    • @timwildsmith
      @timwildsmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@christopherbrown2222 Those are two of my favorites. I reach for my PSQ when I’m on the go, but the NIV1 is a great Bible for reading at home.

    Tim, thank you for this great video. I recently contacted Allan and inquired if they would ever do another large NIV. Got a very nice response that they hope to have a new Proclamation out by mid 2023 and that it will be 10 point font. I hope they don’t skimp on the paper quality. 36 gsm would be wonderful.

    The grain on the New Zealand goatskin from Ludlow looks so nice. I'd choose the R1 though, for the text size.

    Wonderful comparison thanks Tim. I only have the R1, identical colour to yours in red. Go the New Zealand goatskin.

    Tim! You convinced me to buy a NIV, Bibles by Allan are a different league!

    After last video I got my Burgandy NIV1 on the way for my first Allan. They said it was discounted due to 'marks on the gilding or possible art gilt bleed'. I don't really know to what extent the defects are, but it should still be functional either way. Thanks again Tim!
    📖🙂👍

      I've bought a few of those discounted ones... great Bibles!

      Received it in the mail, honestly cannot tell if anything is in fact incorrect in its gilding ... if it is its a very minor flaw. 👍

    Thanks, Tim for another great comparison and review. So much useful information here. NIV R1 is my favourite because of the 10 pt font. If they did this one again, I would definitely want a copy. Meanwhile, I plan on getting a copy of the NIV1 for my son when it comes available. (hopefully soon)

    My favorite is the R1. I actually have the smaller edition 1 bound by Chant and it has a full yapp - unbelievable!

    Thanks for the video - do you notice any difference in quality between NIV1 and ESV1 by Ludlow? Secondly, have you had a chance to look at the brightly coloured NIV1 by Charfleet and if you have what are they like compared to the Ludlow NIV1? Many thanks, Alan

    Very informative Tim. Appreciate the review and comparison. I would be torn between the NIV1 and R1 but since I’m partial to red Bibles.I’ll good with the NIV1. Hope I didn’t get those mixed up. 🤓😁

    I have been buying Allan bibles for about a year and a half but have never seen an NIV of sale. I guess I keep missing them.

    I’m really thinking about getting the NIV 1 in burgundy. Perhaps you can help me with the color. When I look up burgundy in general the Internet says it’s a reddish brown. If so that’s fine and even if it’s just mainly red that’s fine. But I’ve also heard that burgundy can have purpleish undertones. Do you see purple in Allen’s burgundy? I don’t mind reddish brown or red but I do not wanna purple Bible🤪

    • @timwildsmith
      @timwildsmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This does not throw purple vibes at all to me!

    I have never read an anglicized bible before. Will it seem a lot different for those of us in the states vs the American version?

    • @timwildsmith
      @timwildsmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      GREAT question. The different spellings aren't a big deal for me, but the punctuation can take some time to get used to... overall, not a big deal!
