    Nice review definitely more detailed and comprehensive. Personally my only issue with the newer generation Subaru products, is the cvt transmission. That SJG with a manual would have been amazing but I also understand the reason behind moving to CVT's. Overall Subaru's are still solid vehicles that can be reliable with proper care and maintenance. Gari ni mwenyewe.

  • @Spoolnut
    @Spoolnut 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good comparison but lots was left out. Subaru always knows its weaknesses and improves on them to make sure there sales stay up , they also sometimes take good improvements out that seem not affect sales. Eg. the 4pot 2pot brakes from 06-07 wrx. In short EJ engines are out dated now and FA,FB even though will soon to see there weaknesses are a great improvement from the EJ. Am still happy around my ej engines and there is enough I can still do to make em reliable and perform. While the new subaru engines evolve I choose to enjoy my ejs for now. Did you guys know the type RA short block is the same in the S209? As far as I can tell at least. Am considering to just renew my 07 wrx with that short block.

    • @BustedBuster1
      @BustedBuster1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How’s wrx for a first car. I’m thinking of getting a 2016 one but I’m reserved juu ya ii kelele ya reviewers on how the turbo charged Subaru engines are unreliable

    • @Spoolnut
      @Spoolnut ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Buster, maybe I can give you my 2 cents, no matter what people say and all the wrx heritage will forever be remembered and keep the mark it has in the auto world. The ej engine is still on the list for the best engines ever made. A 2016 wrx is a fun car regardless its a newer engine than an ej and it addresses a few weak points of the ej it's got a little more power from its 2014 sisters and even though it's a six speed tranny its still a split case unlike the ever popular STI SIX speed. I don't think it's a bad first car to have specially if you understand the harder you drive the shorter the life span of this subarus , to me i think neglect and bad maintenance has caused many subarus to die. Fuji industries has sold millions of this cars of it was a bad car they would not have kept making em. Last thing I will add is and am.all over the place. If you buy this 2016 I bet you you will want more power later so see if it's in your best interest hold on for a little while or stretch a budget and get an STI. maybe they are hard to come by at a good deal but you can get into an STI and stay with it as is for a while before you want more power. Soon some 2018 and up STIs will start coming to Kenya I don't think they will be cheap but they will be serious contenders, 😉 with the end of the ej STI there value has jumped up. So if you stuck to wanting a wrx as first car do proper inspection any oil leak on the bottom of car make it a concern unless it's from the oil pan nut, test drive it and make sure not even a slight blue smoke coming out from back i dont think rust will be an issue but look out. If they would let you see if it has oil in the intercooler. This is what I would do if I was a first subie buyer. Some of this reviews are based from cheap people and subies can dig a whole in your pocket if not careful. Trust me I should know. In case this helps just know I have 2 wrxs and one is an STI killer so I can stand by what am saying.

      @@Spoolnut thanks for the two cents bro. It probably was more than two😂. I appreciate the info especially coming from a guy who’s been there and a proud owner and twin subies., I’ve got a lot to think about before making the decision but this information right here will be very helpful. Cheers!👍

    • @shiftgangafrica

      The CVT gearbox is really a let down for the performance in the Subaru. Subaru introduced the Cvt to improve on fuel consumption but unfortunately that sacrificed the performance in the process.
