I am so happy there are companies doing 12.6 volt rating again because let's be honest not many if anybody is charging to 18 volts, or just makes so much more sense
It's weird not having crossovers on the amp just because we're so used to having them. That being said almost all of us have crossovers on the head unit. Very powerful
that's a lot of bang for your buck especially if you're running a DSP. The internals look just fine , with all those caps , an chokes , mosfets , an so on. Back in the 90s that much power was unheard of , an all the subs were 4 ohm single voice coils anyway. But now look how far car audio has involved . Now you can even rebuild your subs ,from places like spring field, buying coils cones glue surrounds ,an have them shipped right to your door .thanks for the review parker .
The amps back then on most designs were class AB, utilizing bi-polar transistors (lots of them) and the rest of the circuitry required a lot more parts. Where as todays amps are class D utilizing Mosfets (a much larger semiconductor) capable of switching much higher current and a much simpler circuit design requiring less parts, just my 2 cents....
Ok, Parker what are you gonna be running on that thing? I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE NEW BUILD. Have you decided what vehicle it’s gonna be? Anyway dude, love your work and dedication to all of us out here. Keep bassin on !!!
Fun fact! "Chipeo" (sparkling) is what Hispanic people from the East Coast call audio competitions. Since Taramps got into the USA thanks to Hispanic people, it makes all the sense that they market it with a word that everybody knows 😂 The next series should be called "Chuchero" or "QuitiPop." 😂
Taramps definitely needs to add Tiffany style rca’s and change those plastic knobs for the crossovers. They would sell way more amplifiers just by making those adjustments
This is a nice no frills amp. In this day and age no one uses or should not use the bass boost and crossovers on the amp. I do it all on my Kenwood deck. Now what is concerning to me especially is that they also did not included a high pass / infrasonic adjustment. That’s a no go for me. I need to tune mine to 22Hz or I will bottom out. Also please note it looks like their spec sheet shows 2 different models. A 1 ohm and 2 ohm version. Make sure you know what you purchase people.
You should definitely adjust your crossovers on your amp. It's really hard on your amplifier if it tries to produce frequencies that woofers don't need. Your deck will not slope off your frequenies to your subs correctly and can fight itself, set crossovers on amp,and deck. That being said, you are correct bass boost is a no-no, and I wouldn't buy this amp either with no high pass filter👍🤙
@@holeshotinspectionllc2412 My Kenwood slopes just fine. I have the low pass set to 63Hz at 24dB slope and my highs are at 120Hz also at 24dB. I am looking at the taramps website and by the looks of the T9.000 CHIPEO that one doesn't have oversized power inputs like the T12.000, so I think just by having that even though the 9k is normally $150 cheaper I would still get the 12k, I have a smart 5 bass and that has only 1 RCA input which makes it awkward but these ones don't, they have the dual RCA inputs, and with my audio control products I would not need the amp to have a built-in crossover!
I think everyone should run a Clip light. It will save your system, knock in wood. Ive never blown a sub, and I really beat up my amps and subs. I drive at minimum 2 hours a day. And i have it right below clipping the entire time.
Having no preamp should make for a better signal to noise ratio. I like that it comes in a 2 ohm version, I wish they had an amp larger than the 3K that come in a 4 ohm version. I would buy this over any of the "smart" amps, simply because of it being a 2 ohm version. Why they havn't made a 5K or 8K or something, in a "smart" that is flat from 2 up to 8 ohm stumps me

The thing with the old Earthquake amps though is that they were factory rated at peak power, not continuous or rms power. For rms you could typically expect about 20%-25% less than peak ratings with their amps. Please answer bub :~) What do you drop to voltage wise at idle full tilt with that headway? People been saying mid 12’s are fine with headway because that where they shine at????
At around 10 cents per watt, you can get some decent quality. I think Taramps have to cut a lot of corners to get the price down to 6 cents per watt. Cheapest price possible seems to be the Brazilian way.
Will you do a video of sundowns sia amps at half ohm? Manual says 1 ohm min but the pictures show power at half, 1, 2,and 4 ohms I've been running a custom made Sundown z5 15 dual one ohm. Hooked up to a Sundown SIA 3500 so I had it at 2 ohms for a while but it wanted to pull alot of power so to the rise I think it was most in between 2 and 4 ohms so it was not pushing the power it should voltage would drop to 13.4 while at 3/4 tilt. And would get clips. So I ran both coils to the Amp know the rise will keep above a half ohm and so I actually had to turn the gain down not because of clipping have had no clips since I dropped ohms but to keep my sub from blowing up. And now my voltage stays 14.5 to 15.3.with 1 battery stock 270 alt. Kept stock wires to alt and battery hooked up along the O2free 1/0 wire so. 8 and 1/0 gauge wire running my power for alt and battery big 4 under the hood and the same 1/0 wire to Amp and ground to frame from Amp all connection silver soldered on. My truck at idle with radio off is 14.5 volts so what the radio on and a Full Tilt I actually get more voltage
Hey Parker! Is there anyway you could test this amp on a sub to 0.25 ohm? I noticed high reactive loads from a 1 ohm setup. I would like to know if this amp can take a 0.25 ohm reactive load with box rise to see if I would be closer to the 1 ohm resistive load we all know it can take like a champ.
I wouldn’t run it personally due to the fact it doesn’t have the crossover, I typically set my headunit to 80hz and then fine tune everything at the amp. But looks like it does great clean power! Nice review!

@@ParkerTheBasshead 🤣🤣
I have a 320 amp and 2 xspower d3400 battery’s trying to get 12k chipeo would that be ok or do I need more battery’s
Have they improved on the QUALITY is the REAL question
At around 10 cents per watt, you can get some decent quality.
I think Taramps have to cut a lot of corners to get the price down to 6 cents per watt.
Cheapest price possible seems to be the Brazilian way.
So long as you have a clean RCA signal to them you’d be hard pressed to notice a difference in quality compared to other “nicer” brands
Do you know anything about the yr 15 inch 5000 max sub? Wanna know if it’s good or not ?
If money didn't matter. Whats the best amp brand?
Depends on the build type.
@@jonanderson4474 drop some amp names. Is the best sundown? D.c , Crescendo .....
@@ThomasFromFlintsundown is the best

Where in NC do you live? So you can help me on my build. Please
Very nice
I would not do that with this amp possibly it would work at 0.5 but .25 is a no go
Awesome amp
I like it
Has anyone ran this at .5 ohm??????? Need answers please thank you
I wouldn’t run it personally due to the fact it doesn’t have the crossover, I typically set my headunit to 80hz and then fine tune everything at the amp. But looks like it does great clean power! Nice review!
Your lpf on your amp should be turned all the way up when using a DSP or head unit crossover..
Aww jeez only 12k watts hahaha that’s freaking insane dude
I need that amp
