Nice video my dude! This is a weird mash up of older soundigital and Taramps HD elements! Here's what I picked up from your gut shots:
- to247ac output fets, only x8 needed for 8k+, likely irfp90n20d same as the Viking 8k is using or similar
- as there's only 8 outputs, the drive ICs aren't buffered. Less to go wrong and simpler to repair, but depending on the fets used the drivers may run quite hot.
- SI8244bb drivers same as taramps HD line, really nice choice with mega voltage headroom and in/out isolation preventing damage further back in the circuit in case of failure, much better than other SD clones still using 20975s at 5v under their limit lol
- MCU controlled power supply pwm and protection with start up health check, should help prevent power supply meltdown in case of a dead output fet, however can be a repair nightmare if they die as you need a programmed replacement from the factory. Taramps are great at supplying these free of charge, no other brands offer this and since deaf bonce don't make these they probably won't be able to get them for you
- the style of transformers used are generally more resilient to vibraton damage
- Outputs have zeners to clamp gate drive, and what looks like oversized pull down diodes to speed up fet turn-off, should run nice and cool at idle provided deadtime and freq are properly set
- Heatsink case is main ground so do NOT short your allen key from 12v screw to the case 😂
- Single positive rail voltage used so there will be half rail DC (80-90v) on both positive and negative speaker terminals at all times while the amp is powered up even with nothing playing, so do NOT let any speaker wire or allen key touch chassis ground, and wait 10min after powering down before touching anything
- I spy rail shunts, hopefully the circuit monitoring them is calibrated properly to actually protect against overcurrent unlike most of the other clones and brazilians
Provided the power supply holds up and everything's well optimised, this should be fairly reliable at this price point! Main points of failure will just be the volatility of surface mount parts in this environment. If it was the exact same circuit but all through hole they would last years longer!
Dude I really appreciate it! Excellent rundown
Man, I love it when he replies to something his technical knowledge and powers about this is outstanding the demo, by the way also👍🏽
What can be done if the power supply MCU can not be gotten? Could a more common tl494 be adapted to work in its place?
@@JasonWW2000 yes but you would lose start up health check and might take a bit of trial and error getting the protection working as intended
@@barevids Cool. It's good to know it can be fixed (given enough time). If it became a paperweight I'd be upset.
If you have a sec, have you ever worked on a Focal amp? I got a fpx5.1200 but there's no reviews, amp dynos or anything about this amp or the fpx series.
Deaf Bonce is letting us have the biggest sale in over 5 years.. Also all the AAK amps are on sale almost 30% off if you want the old ones still. Shout out to Parker for a great review.. There are so many new products to review so you will be busy...
What bords are these amps runnin Korean Chinese or Brazilian.
@@rogerdavis9607the aab is bangledish I believe and ask is Korean
I had the same question what board is this Korean or Brazilian ????

You came a long way, parker, proud of you!!!
Great review man. Thank you for doing this. I’m BrodyMan I met you at showtime. I’m eight years old and you have me a great demo. I learn so much from these. Thanks Parker
I envy all that space you have. I live in Los Angeles so I had to install my stereo on the sidewalk. Worst park is having to clean up everyday. You can just look the door and walk away till tomorrow! I’m running a deaf Bonce 10” machete. It’s 300rms but I’m pushing it with a kicker amp pushing 400 rms through that thing. So far so good 😬😁🙃
I'm sorry you have to live in California 😥😜
Deaf Bonce doing things good job Parker
I just got my atom 12.5k pro today and man it’s a beast I should post a demo on my channel on what this thing can do but man Parker i appreciate your channel so much bro you are a true legend my friend
That is awesome man! I get it is a beast!
@ParkerTheBasshead what were you wired at for these tests?
Deaf Bonce has served me very well, This looks like a Little Beast!
Bass remote or not, that sounds like a beast!! Great price point for the build and power😊
Overall, build quality looks very stout and beefy! How long did it take before the fans kicked in Parker? I'm super stoked for you, bud, in how well everything is working out in your favor❤ You've come a long way, and I can feel the excitement you put out through the videos everytime!!
That's actually a really good deal! Deff gonna give Taramps a run for their money🤷♂️
Keep up the awesome work brother. Ive got a apocalypse 7900 black brick Brickhouse 15 man I'm loving that combo The Brickhouse 15 gets down
Please please please keep giving us 2 videos per week!
Def bonce is one of my favorite brands. Got the STU in my car

Parker - Here's a simplified understanding of impedance.
When you measure the resistance of a voice coil using a digital multimeter, it's using DC voltage. It will measure a fixed resistance.
When you measure a voice coil with music or a sign wave, that's using AC voltage. AC "resistance" is called impedance. It is not a fixed number. It can vary based on the frequency of the AC voltage.
Impedance can not be measured with a digital multimeter. It's a lot more complicated and requires special equipment. Something like your SMD AMM-1 can measure it.
As a side note: When measuring a speaker, the impedance is also influenced by it's enclosure, the vehicle or room it's in, by the amp, etc... There's lots of things that can change the impedance.
How can you measure dc current going into a voice coil? The only current a voice coil ever sees is a alternating current. The only way to get a dc current to a voice coil is to run straight electric to it from the battery and bypass the amp. The amp is actually fighting the ac current passing through the speaker wires, thus creating impedance rise.
@@jasenlauver4862 I'm not sure why you would want to measure DC current through a voice coil. I would advise against trying.
@@JasonWW2000 you stated to be exact “ when measuring the resistance of a voice coil using a digital multimeter, it’s using dc voltage” those were your words not mine.
@@jasenlauver4862 Yes. I did not say anything about measuring DC current. I said DC voltage.
For example, you have a sub with the sticker fallen off so you don't know what impedance it is. You can use a digital, or analog, multimeter to measure the voice coil resistance. Lot's of people do this. You might wire up multiple subs and want to verify the final ohm load.
These meters inject DC voltage through the voice coil. So if it reads 3.8 ohms you know it's 4 ohm nominal. This is the DC resistance or Re spec in the TS parameters.
When Parker said he had his subs wired to 0.5 ohm he measured that on a typical DC multimeter. 0.5 ohm is the DC resistance.
When you start playing music your passing AC voltage. It won't be 0.5 ohm, it will be higher and it will vary.
This difference between DC resistance and AC impedance is what my comment was about. Hope that clears up any confusion.
Dang bro. You actually had a silent montage in this video. I love that, you've come a long way from 12 vs 12 brand comparison vids. Keep killing it Parker !!! 😎
Great vid and seeing the amp guts and specs are always helpful. 😎👍👍
Hell ya bro 2 vids a week bad ass keep up all the good work
Another great review! Thanks Parker!
Thank you for the bonus video for through the week
You are very welcome!
I haven't seen a amp like this since the RD D9

@ParkerTheBasshead hoping it'll do great with my 2 zv6 12s 6th order b pillar .. got close to a 150 @20hz with the md12k so hopefully this will get me a Lil over my goal or close to a 153@20

Barely no box rise... love it
Great job . 👍 thanks for the demo bro
Yessir!
Can’t wait to get my build on gr8 video Parker
how would this compare to the smart 8k taramp?
Just got me a 2100 atom it's so small was going to get a skar 2k hopefully I made the right choice
I'd like to see a Dyno of the 7.5k atom pro. Can't find one with proper bench testing
Parker the bass head, do you think that the impedance on 2 15's inverted in like a 6cu box ,would allow me to run this at .5ohm I don't have an smd to check the rise...😢
Good question
Would love to see a dyno on it, or better yet I would love to put it on my dyno! 😊
Thinking about going with the 12.5k on my 4 deaf bonce 3015r. I’m going to watch more videos on these amps and do some more research before pulling the trigger on one. Thanks for the video, as always very informative.
Shoutout to Alphard and Billy W in China for making this amp. Finally a great price for a great amp.
So this amp is a china board??
Thank you for info cause nobody is saying nothing even on there site !!!
Love all the videos bro hope your able to get the Apocalypse ATOM 7.5K PRO and also the 8" Neo that they have out.

So are the ASA better than the AAK? I see these have fans…
I’m loving your channel. Lots of deaf bonce products.
Really good job explaining everything keep up the good work and I would like to see a review a Down4Sound amplifier, and give your opinion on that
Can u mention on your next vid your rms build target and what amps you use to bump your hardest.
I love the "taking my amp for a walk" montage'
Haha good!
@@ParkerTheBasshead Thank you so much for responding.. I love your content..
4:38 It's called Power Compression. You are getting the full power from the amp, @ 1 ohm. your subs are dissipating some of the amp's power as heat, slowly turning your voice coils into a heating element. in turn, will increase the resistance. if you continue or turn it up, your coils will be in thermal runaway, and will blow.
Sorry, that is completely wrong. Power compression is something else.
In this case it is simply the difference between DC voltage resistance (0.5 ohm) which is static and AC voltage resistance which varies based on the frequency of the AC voltage.
Impedence rise is simply from the coil moving up and down. Resistance changes as the coil moves. Put a multimeter on a sub coil and push the cone down. You'll watch the resistance change constantly.
@@nathanbesse416 Yes, I know this is true. but the thermals should not increase because of this. The deffinition of power compression states "In a loudspeaker, power compression or thermal compression is a loss of efficiency observed as the voice coil heats up under operation, increasing the DC resistance of the voice coil and decreasing the effective available power of the audio amplifier". In a non technical way, Parker is describing the same thing.
@@JasonWW2000 Interesting point, but the jury is still out. that sounds like an opinion-based technical explanation, I was describing voice coils & increased resistance because of thermal runaway regardless if it's applicable in this cinario. a touring or concert audio engineer would know the correct answer to this phenomenon. question is one going to start up a TH-cam channel and cover this topic. yes, touring and car audio are different industries, but car audio amps have surpassed concert power levels in a single amplifier designes. in touring applications, they use limiters to keep voice coils from getting too hot. can't have $300k in subs blowing at a concert. and destroying the show. in car audio, your don't have as much invested in subs, simly because of space constraints. so they tend to not offer sub-woofer protection technologies used in the touring industry because if you melt your car subs, they will get to sell you more.
@@johnstarks5323I'm just giving straight up facts. There is no jury or question about my comment. Parker is simply confusing DC and AC and doesn't realize the difference.
I provided a longer comment to him going into more detail. I'm still keeping it simple, though. 👍

How many amps consumption were you pulling tho? Can’t really find an answer on that anywhere that’s in English..and that manual leaves that information out of it..

My all-Recoil Navigator is done. It’s time for an all-Alphard Aviator. Sorry wife. I need a second demo car.
I need an amp I think .mine might be fried .I got a digital multimeter so wish me luck
Which amp remains cool even on playing for long hours ? Plz reply
You didn't twist the wire it for the taramps amp
Parker thank you.
Just ordered mine about 15 minutes ago can’t wait now lol
How do you like it?
Parker i have a video idea can u do 2 sundown x8 v4s in a big low tuned box on big power i wanna see how much they can output since i have a pair
Planning to get that amp is it good
Great video!
i want to try out the 12,500 atom on a 4518r soon
Think it’s too much for 2 skar zvx 15s?

Atom 1600.1 pro. Pioneer Pro 12 1800 rms. Will I have issues?
Does anyone know if this amp would last a long time of abuse?
Same price at the Smart 8K, which do you like more?
Internals looks similar to the old Sundown SFB 8000 amp
Yoo I got ah ? Could I run this amp on my 4 xv3s I had a taramp md8k but got rid of it now I wanna upgrade and just seeing if this one would be a good choice?
Is running a capacitor to ur amp a good thing? Or is it not necessary.
Did you by chance see what happens if your voltage is over 15?
Can I run the atom series at 15.5 voltage or is it recommended for under 15 voltages
Freaking awesome though it's very inspiring I want to get my sound pound in vehicle done

Hi, what’s a better amp that will last longer pro 95k or taramps smart 8 looking for a good amp that not too expensive to push 4 Skar vxf 15
Two 15s can handle smart 8
Max voltage on this 15v right
why does it say Output on the rca connection?
Is the deaf bonce atom 3.5k pro worth it???
nice looking amp
Love there SUBS (thank you for that Parker)
I have another ??? Because they don’t explain what kind of Board they are using (Korean or Brazilian????
Parker misplaced the Sequoia! 🤣
You like this or the Smart 8k better?
would one say this is built better then Taramp ?
Just curious why the damping factor was sooo low??? ... everything else is 450-700
Damping factor is one of those specs that some people think are super important. It's really not. Those specs are usually measured at 4 ohm and people don't typically run their subs at 4 ohm.
Are most amps of this size in the 450 to 700 range? I haven't noticed.
Also, it's possible they might not have the final specs yet since it's still early in production.
Hey Parker, I love watching your videos and appreciate what you bring to the audio community with your videos and testing.
I'm working on a prototype amp cooling fan assembly and sent you a message on Facebook. Let me know what you think as I now have 3x of the 4x planned prototypes built.
Anywho, love the videos man and keep bassin on! 👍
Getting 1for Xmas
Would I be ok wiring this series amp at half ohm considering there’s box rise
Did the fans kick on during the test?
Quick question. Have you had any trouble with these subs getting hot? I got one myself i am about to hook up and i noticed no venting on the back.
What kind of head unit do you have ?
Nice amp
Is this a full bridge amp
I noticed the amp has RCA input and output and you had something plugged into the output? I've been wanting to try a brazillian amp but most of them only have 1 rca input. are you supposed to just leave the other one dangling there?
It makes no difference so I just plugged it in
