Your videos have been very helpful and entertaining. I’m somewhat new to AoE, I played a small amount of the original but was more of a Command and Conquer and Warcraft guy. I remember when we first saw C&C on display at our local Software Etc / Barnes & Noble some 25-30 years ago, kinda cool we’re still getting new RTS games this many years later.
Is there any matchup/situation in which you recommend go for the Onna-Bugeisha instad of the archers? I have seen Valdemar do it, what are your thoughts on it?
I think Onei Bugeisha can be better if you have the game sense to pre empt the enemies counter? Valdemars build is much more about baiting a response than creating a strong initial feudal ball so I think both can be good/require different skills
If I don't manage to finish off my opponent and I need to go to castle age, is there a general plan to continue this order or it depends on the situation/match up?
Great guide, I just started properly playing after getting the game at launch and after 8 hours flew by in random ranked games last night, I'm absolutely hooked so this is just what I needed to give japan a try. Does it generally do bad against knight rushing france/jean, or early cavalry agression nations?
Regarding the "Day -myo? Dye-myo?" It's pronounced like the English "dye/die." The "ai" sound is always the same in Japanese, so samurAI, dAImyo, gAIjin, etc.
Pretty cool build order! Because Japanese is a strong water civ, could you do a Japanese water/hybrid build order? Keep up the good work! Love your vids!!
Because Fishing ships are cheaper you only need 4 or 5 villagers cutting wood to maintain Fishing ship production (use straggler trees to not use wood on a Lumber camp until you have spare wood) Starting 5 on wood and 1 rushing water, rally remaining vills to food Once you have 5 units gathering food you can start mining gold Because you only need 5 vills on wood, you are able to age up faster than other Civs that are also fishing (because you can have your other villagers gathering more food and gold) Build Shinobi landmark and rush their docks -> Sabotage docks while building an arrow ship This is a hard punish if your opponent is also fishing, likely game winning. This strategy struggles when your opponent skips fishing, rushes feudal, and builds a navy. You would also have to adapt if they dark age rush docks, perhaps build some Samurai once barracks is scouted. @@masonrussell2474
Sweet build bro can't wait to try it out. Btw... Why do you keep saying "m'norr"..., I notice you do it in a lot of your vids. I get your pronunciation on foreign words may be this or that but manor is literally an English word my dude lmao... Anyway love your content.
Good build order but I dont think Japanese archer could overlap the english archer production, also the Yummy archer is the weaker archer of the game vs longbow (the most powerfull archer of aoe4), the result coulb be disastrous
You have to remember that you can build 4 Yumis for the cost of 3 Longbows and also they also train in 12.5s vs 15S for the longbow. They are weaker both offensively and defensively but run much, much faster which means they get to the battle much faster and can simply outrun longbows if they are outnumbered. But if you have 5 longbows facing 12 Yumis you simply can't get away and you'll be slaughtered. Pros and cons for everything.
cant wait for the pros to abuse ninjas making the devs to fix them, i like the sound of free sources, but assasins just looks like a way to grief players into quitting lol
Very interesting build looks like quite a fun English type early rush
I love that I can longbow rush with Byzantine.
Love these build order breakdowns! Thank You!

I would guess that you need some early spears at least against Knight civs but other than that it should work. But i dont have experience on it
Just destroyed the Mongols with this build order! Thanks! I'm only silver but getting better!
What would I need the towara for? It seems to slow down the AgeUp and the berries aren't used? Is it so that villagers move faster when cutting wood?
it's a weaker version of wheelbarrow: Increase the carry capacity of Villagers by +3, their movement speed by +7%. The berries bonus is a plus.
Iv got a question about expansion Daddy Drongo, when are you going to play and stream it live for us ? :>

Hybrid builds are pretty much all the same. Start with a dock lol
Oh yeah I guess so lol

How should juicy counter these kind of early aggression?
By making horseman and not rushing castle age without knowing what the Japanese game plan was.
Does anyone know if the Odachi upgrade affects the samurai horseback unit?
Also I am loving these Japanese civ videos! Thank you so much!
i just tested it, it does not.
@@AussieDrongo you’re so fucking cool, thank you Drongo! ❤️
If it helps with pronunciation, Japanese uses vowels similar to spanish. So takezaiku would tah-kay-zah-ee-koo
Another way to think of it is: ah ee oo eh oh for a i u e o
can the Desert Rider spawn on BOW mode ? (instead of sword)
They spawn with sword in the stable and with bow in the archery range. You can swap at will.
oh thanks, cause i prefer having them BOW mode to kill VILLAGERS IN MASSIVE AMOUNT @@Staklihen
@@KobuCake No matter which building it comes from, you can change the mode at any time.
yea but it's easier if they arrive in bow mode at their gold mine :3@@Staklihen

tried a lot this bo, but i perform better with fc. it was good against mongols though
I don't understand with this, Japan have the worst archers in the game, how do you make them work?
Their attack stat are absolutely terrible.
they get +1 from bannerman to be equal to a normal archer, are much cheaper so you can make more of them, and are very fast
what you get from the kura storehouse is wood for free, not food, so what are you talking about 🤔
You get food for free, instead of getting it in Exchange for wood to be precise 🙂
