Thranduil so Regal and Magnificent and Majestic makes him so Beautiful. Lee Pace was cast Perfectly in this role. I just wish there was a Full Movie about him ( Thranduil ) !
Lee Pace Immortalized Thranduil in my mind as I couldn't imagine anyone else would've portrayed this character perfectly like Lee did. The easthetics, the strength, his grace and even his voice are the eloquence of ethereal regality.❤️❤️❤️Let alone the mystery and bitterness behind those icy blue eyes that would make you wonder why.He is just perfect❤️❤️❤️
@SupperaLoL I agree. I had my doubts about Lee Pace being cast as Thranduil. I didn’t see the tall, lean but muscular elfish king under Lee’s everyday attire. I’m so glad that Peter Jackson could. Lee was the perfect casting. He made Thranduil into flesh and bone. Based on all the actors in both trilogies Peter Jackson and his colleagues paired up the right actors with their parts.
Lee Pace as Thranduil was the perfect choice to play this part. And I am in total agreement that this charactor is the one that people always mentions in the Hobbit and not incidentally has the biggest fan base of ANY single LOTR charactor, except maybe Legolas, but maybe not. Some food for thought: I think this is because, not only is he drop dead beautiful (great makeup and wardrobe!) he is FLAWED. He is a flawed elf. Think about it. Until the Elven King, all the Elves in the series are perfect. Elrond, Galadrial, Haldir, even our gorgeous Leggy seem almost too perfect. And then there is King Thranduil. Arrogant, imperious, easily angered, liable to lie to get his way, somewhat greedy and yes, I've said it before, and under it all he has suffered greatly (the backstory) It makes him feel so much more "real" than the other always perfect elves.
I don’t know, I actually think all of Tolkien’s Elves are flawed, which makes them relatable and compelling despite their ethereal beauty, immense power and long lives: Thrandruil is trapped in his past which makes him closed off, Legolas has a complicated family, Galadriel is haunted by the gravity of her responsibility as a Ring Bearer, Elrond is afraid his daughter will just fade and be unhappy if she remains with Aragorn that he tries to prevent them from being together, Arwen is torn between being with her family or choosing her love. They’re not perfect, they have complicated issues, some of them are even evil.
Oh gosh he is one beautiful man..elf..human... person..so beautiful... legolas is gorgeous but father is beautiful... in sooo glad i love LOTR Trilogys

TBH Jackson and company kind of disappointed me; I expected more btwen father and son. We never heard from Tolkien's mouth how his mother died, and the storyline is so incomplete of how the relationship deteriorated like I said 100% disappointment. In addition, it was a character all LOTR fans from my generation (I was 15 when FOTR came out) would have loved to see.
This actor moves and seems to move a bit like Tim Hiddleston, especially in one of the publicity videos. He also has a bit of that "bad boy vibe." Really enjoyed watching him.
