Interesting fact, the hospital knights in charge of lepers wore a green cross on their tunics. They were called Lazarists, so there's L connection again.

Pretty accurate! I HATED when Luigi would just sit and watch the ghosts take the elevator buttons and Luigi would just watch. Both cat encounters really irked me.
In Japan they actually call medium to large apartment/condo buildings/units mansions. A little confusing, i know. But it makes sense once you think about it. A large residence with lots of rooms where a lot of people live. What we refer to as a mansion has an actual japanese word: besso. So something probably got messed up in translation.
Well here’s the weird thing about that, this game was developed by a *CANADIAN* studio! So unless my knowledge of regional differences in shared language dialect isn’t as vast as I think it is, then that means they had the same definition of what a mansion is as us US and UK gamers.

The people who developed the third game are British Colombian, but the people who originally made the initial title are entirely Japanese. The point still applies.

Now that I think about it there wasn't a cowardly Ghostbuster in the original cartoon, was there? Working Joe, Nerd, Ladies' man, Asperger. Or did the lawyer count? Was he in the cartoon or just the second movie?
A Ghostbuster costume for Luigi would have been a fun DLC.
The whole "nothing to spend the money on" reminds me of what vinesauce vinny said when he realised how little there was to spend money on. Almost immediately said he's at least hoped they'd have the costume option like in Mario oddesy, and I gotta say I think it'd be pretty cool to see Luigi in different costumes. Hell, it'd be funny if you could just straight up switch gooigi and luigis models.

I believe he's referencing that, when summoning Gooigi, Luigi immediately falls asleep on the spot, which that in itself is likely a little reference to Dream Team. It's a shame barely anyone remembers that game to notice that detail
I always found it odd that Luigi is still afraid of ghosts after all he's been through already
And because he has a ghost dog. Scared before he gets the vacuum, maybe, but after he should feel confident as hell.
Well considering people are still scared of spiders even after killing muitple, and the fact the ghost are trying to kill him it doesn't matter if he been through it before one slip up cam cost him his life and his brother's life, and he could have PTSD. Actually even though it is his third time he has a huge reason to be scared.

Luigi is so used to ghost-busting that he spends the next installment more annoyed than anything else, King Boo has lost all his authority over the undead of the Mushroom World because he can’t let go of his anger, and after allowing King Boo to escape again, Luigi and friends force E. Gadd to accept a live-in care-giver/conservator charged with keeping his senile old ass from causing any more problems.

From mansion, to mansions, to a hotel, now the next game has to be set in a town or village and Luigi goes house to house getting rid of ghosts like the plumber he supposedly is.

That exact problem happens in Witcher 3, but for some reason it got massive amounts of praise and attention.
That is because The Witcher 3 had meaningful character choices and a solid narrative.
There's an upgrade system in Witcher 3 by putting points into skills, some of which unlock different versions of spells and combat moves. If Luigi could increase suction power to drain enemy hp faster or if he has elemental powers like the first game and could increase their capacity then I could somewhat agree with you.
@@chadschmaltz9790 yeah, but the upgrades are still really vapid. Luigi having upgrades would be redundant if he still plays the same with a few extra bells and whistles.
Also, Luigi's Mansion is like 15 hours tops, the Witcher 3 can go for about 90 hours.
Let's not pretend repetitiveness wasn't a major issue on both games.
Mario doesn't get a ton of upgrades during his games and those aren't repetitive. Not every game needs unlockables for variation. It can come from outside the players toolkit

LM3 makes a lot more sense if you stop thinking of it as an action ghost-em-up, and starting thinking of it as the point-and-click puzzle game it basically is.

Luigi's Mansion 4; you walk from room to room cleaning up messes that Mario and Peach made in their castle.
Even more galling than the cat stealing the elevator buttons was the rats stealing one button twice. It extended the gameplay for literally fuck all.

heh yeah i have to majorly agree with you on that XD the boss's after some time was like "ok which do i use and did i forget one?" the "damn it hold onto the key/button better!" and "not the cat again!!! and now i need to stand perfectly still tell just hits... ok and now repeate 3 more times.... yawn"
This is a very accurate summary of this game... which is unfortunate. I actually rented this from the library and beat it in about three days. The game definitely feels padded, which is doubly strange given just how short it actually is, and hoovering up everything in all the rooms really is a chore.
The long wait for Yahtzee's *Death Stranding* review feels analogous to the the game. Or I can just use a fast travel option and go to the garbage pile that is the Escapist website and video player website to see it

The main thing I hated is the trope of Nintendo bosses being invincible for large periods of time until they expose their weakness and then you have to hit it and then you can damage them until they become invincible again but now they do more stuff. It was extremely frustrating on the last boss when you have to dodge everything while trying to shoot it with a bomb with a very short fuse.

My head canon is that these ghostly haunts have some power to make people scared loke Scarecrows fear toxin but not as strong.
It's a good power for ghosts to have--making people feel spooked.
There's a game called Pandemic Express, and its dying because nobody plays it, Nobody plays it because few people play it. you see why this game is dying. other than the low player count, this game is amazing. It has outstanding movement mechanics, beautiful art style, and satisfying gun play. I'm going to keep this short, but the seller for this game is the double jump, the sliding and the gun jumping, (shooting a surface next to you will propel you away from it, force depending on the weapon.) If you do decide to play it and nobody's online, try out the warm up mode and screw around to learn the mechanics. Trust me, It'll help.

I’m commenting on a pretty old video, but in Japan, these types of domiciles are often called “mansions”. It’s not a lie by Nintendo, it’s just another weird Japanese quirk.

But this game was made by a Canadian studio with the same idea of what a mansion is like the rest of the West.

Nintendo wants to be very consistent with there sequels, so in Luigi's Mansion 4 you will get a vacuum cleaner and be told to clean up your own room. So the game will not take place in a mansion, the location will not be owned by Luigi, and Luigi won't be in it.

My one gripe was that it was far too silly. What drew me to the original Luigi's Mansion was that it was surprisingly dark and eerie. Not scary, but intriguing. Disco-dancing ghosts and Godzilla movie sets just didn't do it for me.
Anyone else notice the "L" on Luigi 's hat is backwards when he looks to his right. Come' on yahtzee!

He's actually wrong. Not saying it's much better, but you get a reward for all boos, a reward for all gems, and a reward for 100%, which is a skin for your flashlight, plunger, and poltergust respectively.

@@anthonydeadman The flashlight becomes a boo face flashlight, the plunger becomes a diamond plunger, and the poltergust is apparently a golden version (I don't have 100%, but that's what I saw somebody say) and they can be used in any game mode.
So like I said not much better than nothing, but there at least is a reward for it.
Robert K - Can confirm this. Was a bit disappointed because I don’t actually intend on playing multiplayer, so it seemed like a waste in the end. Also, the reason Yahtzee missed it is because the game doesn’t actually tell you you got those. It has a bad habit of not telling you things sometimes...
