    Mount reflectors every place there is a good spot to observe your position from, anyone sneaking up on you in the dark will give away it's position by eclipsing the flector

    I live in my orchard in the south of spain where junkies and vagrants are always stealing my fruit and tools in the dead of night.
    I'd already set up some tripwires and cans, but it just wasn't loud enough. This is on a whole other level! I can finally sleep and be alerted to real intruders, instead of being paranoid and sleepless all night!
    Thank you!!!

    I live on the east coast of South Africa, and attest that the can trip wire system works wonderfully in an urban setting as a perimeter alarm. I set up the system around my house to alert us to prowlers, and boy did it get positive results! We were able to alert the neighbourhood to intruders before issues arose.

    Simple and effective....and metal cans are usually available. I suspect that in the quiet woods, even some plastic water bottles with or without pebbles in them would work.
    Thanks for another cool video.

    Security is about tripping more levels of Paranoia against your attacker than you do against yourself.
    An attacker is already at level 1 paranoia, you need to take him to level 3 without missing level 2.
    So you need 1 ! 2 ! 3 ! then something nasty within 15 seconds to disorient an attacker and change advantage.

    Excellent video, like the tension on Para cord can come in handy on other things, have an amateur tip that a hunter told me , on most knives that have a pouch for a sharpener there is room for a small Bic lighter as a last way to make fire if need be. Thanks for the great videos.

    When the wind blows, the cans will sound off. 2 layer system, 1 low 1 high. Trip the lower one at site with cans and bottles. High one will go off just outside your campsite with cans and wind chime system that is dragged along the ground.

    The fact that you belittle the subscribers who were excited to share their idea that "[you] had already had, now...", instead of encouraging them and adding to their enthusiasm about trip wire, shows a lot of insecurity. Video showed a failed attempt the most BASIC perimeter alarm... But Good Luck to you all and I hope the channel does well (If still active).

    Had some luck with a deer alarm the other day: flex hose strung thru plastic bags. Cr^ppy looking alarm, but we only set it up at night. The alarm offers Motion and Noise, and the capability to varying the sounds by using bells, cans, or whatever. I think variety is key when dealing with deer. Like horses, they get used to things. What are your thoughts on keeping deer out of the garden?

    Idea? with the new type cans having the coating on the inside could it insulate the sound some? what if you burned the cans in the fire ahead of time? maybe that would harden the metal also and possibly increase the sound slightly? Good set up 👉scout 👍

    nice. Im gonna use that. real easy. im gonna be camping solo for a few weeks and I have no gun. my technique for defense against unwanted visitors is 6 or 7 premade presharpened javelins by the tent next to a large pile of baseball size rocks. and I have a steel tomahawk for close encounters. its animals, not people. if I could bring a .357 I would. but I cant.

  • @sammylee2338
    @sammylee2338 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good try, but I'm not sure if you do it correctly though. You need to use iron cans instead of aluminum cans (e.g., beer cans). You also need to use the lid, so when you open a can, don't cut it all the way. Then, you need to put small rocks in there. Also, you should not hang more than one together. They need to have a bit of distance so that they can make more noise. If you hang all cans like that together, the noises will cancel out each other.

    What about fishing line? Can that be used as tripwire as well? And how far away should the trap be/ the radius from where you are hiding out from?

    • @kendawg833
      @kendawg833 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alexander Simon
      Best to keep the cans near your location and run the trip wire away from you so you have time to react.
      Fishing line (monofilament) would work in a pinch but it stretches. Best to use something rigid like Kevlar or synthetic fishing line.

    • @inkedoutmiss
      @inkedoutmiss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If someone was using a torch in the night and looking to sneak up on you, they would be going slowly the fishing line would shine like a thick spiderweb! But if it’s for animals then it’s fine cos they don’t usually carry a torch!

    • @inkedoutmiss
      @inkedoutmiss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On a serious note. I’d be looking for a natural trail made by animals, or the easiest way for a human to get through the trees & bushes. Have the cans far enough away that you can hear them clearly but that you have time to react.
