    Thanks for the product review. Most of construction guys I know use dewalt. Appreciate how you take care of your equipment. Cheaper than an unexpected breakdown.

    'Grease change' woohoo! I'm wrapping up my day, exhausted, and cracking up watching you so amped about a grease gun! But taking care of your equipment keeps it running right... Ooh, and a knife review as a bonus! Y'all are the best...

    Yes, as i have aged, arthritis has created many changes in how i do things. 1 of the wisest purchases was my dewalt grease gun like yours. At tractors supply. Then i went across the isle & found the most adorable purse that fits my needs perfectly......lol!

    I'm glad I stumbled on to your videos, it is kind of neat when u tube actually recommends something I like a lot.
    When I was 14(1974) I walked thru the fields making the piles that we later lifted onto a wagon. I hated the heat and hay down the sweaty shirt but they sometimes let me drive the tractor while they did the lifting.
    I like your attitude and outlook thanks for taking the time and making the effort.

    Yup, they always seem to "hide" grease fittings in the most impossible places! What I do like is that they seem to listen to farmers and have more grease banks that are conveniently placed with lines to the "impossible" fittings. And like the large square balers, they have large grease tanks with auto-greasers! I love watching your videos you 2!

    • @NorthTexasHay
      @NorthTexasHay  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thr8061 thank you, I wish my equipment had auto greasers

    We've got the Milwaukee M18 grease gun, HUGE TIME SAVER! Yea you tend to use a little more grease, but grease is cheaper than bearing and other parts! We also use the John Deere poly grease it's got minimal sling and we've never had any sort of grease related failure. And the best way to solve the two fittings under the baler would be buy a Deere baler..... can't beat them for a tight, uniform, and consistent bales.

    I had the same problem under my br7060. I found that if you raise the tailgate and lock it in the up position you can sit on the bale kicker and reach under without having to get on the ground and grease those two fitting. Hope this helps.

  • @strangefruit8776
    @strangefruit8776 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also a tip. Thread in the grease tube about one thread and release the rod. It usually lets the air compress out through your threads without having to mess with the bleeder and also when you screw it down it makes all the grease smash into the pump.

      @NorthTexasHay  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you put flex lines on the 2 zerks under the baler and locate them on the outside?

  • @rjvan9220
    @rjvan9220 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a BR 7060 baler. Same bale kicker as yours. I removed the front bolts from the kicker springs on each side, replaced with pins for quick removal. Open tailgate, lock up, ( I don't really trust that fluid lock myself) pull pins on spring packs, fold kicker up into bailer chamber, now go under and grease stuffer cranks, fold down kicker, re-pin, bale hay! Makes it way easier to get under.

    You can "fix" the grease fitting access issue relatively easily with some 1/8" or 1/4" stainless steel tubing and a couple of fittings. Remove the grease fitting and replace it with antubing fitting. Then route the tubing out to an accessible point. Terminate the tubing with a coupler to screw the grease fitting into. We did this all the time on our cranes and other equipment on offshore platforms.

    I'm a relatively new subscriber, it's interesting watching you bale, collect and then deliver your hay. I've been a subscriber to One LonleyFarmer for a while now, he produces mulch hay for a couple of mushroom producers up in New Jersey. What's interesting is seein' the different way you do things compared to his methods.

    Grease is sure a lot less expensive than buying replacement parts.
    Years back I used a Pro Tec grease and oil treatment with very good results. Only drawback was being a multi level deal and accessibility.

    Thanks for the video. I want one of those grease guns. by the time I finish greasing the combine my hand hurts from the pistol grip type I currently have. yep, good quality grease makes a big difference and since the good stuff don't sling out or heat up and melt it stays on the job longer making it the bargain in the long run.

    my brother in excavating uses a cherry red colored high temp grease. gave me 4 tubes once, i couldn't believe how much more long lasting it was on farm equipment & skidloader. only problem is in winter when it's cold out it'so thick it won't pump unless you store it in a 5 gallon bucket of hot water all the time.

      jan kotze those things are a joke, you can not get it into over half the places as it is so bulky, its bad enough the standard ends are tight in some places, then there is that stupid trigger that is always in the way on the ones you can get to, the mfg sent me one wanting me to sell them, when I got it right away I new it was a joke but I tried it, an didn't take long to find out it was an even bigger joke

    Not all grease is "good" for everything. My uncle farms and he had done some research on lubricants and found that different moving parts require different greases. He ended up using two different types of Bel-Ray. I don't remember which but he did say it was very expensive but less expensive than equipment failure. I typically use John Deere SD Poly grease as I don't "do much" compared to a regular farmer. I definitely stay away from the cheap no name brands.

    • @NorthTexasHay
      @NorthTexasHay  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dustin Hruzek you definitely get what you pay for

    • @arnoldromppai5395
      @arnoldromppai5395 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know why anyone would buy john deere grease as JD don't make grease they just have there name put on some run of the mill grease an charge the green paint price, for years I use the petro Canada all peruses semi synthetic, EP3 GREAT STUFF for anything from high speed wheel bearing to tie rods and everything in between, even works great on chain an sprockets, it don't fly off, sticky 9$ CND A TUBE RETAIL cheaper wholesale by the case of 12 as well it is guaranteed if a part fails that its been used on since day one they pay the cost of that part, its great as you never have to change grease type from one job to another or from summer to a winter grade even with our -40 winters, have you looked at them after market grease bearings that go on rotating shaft and a 1/4 inch hydraulic hose connects to it an you bring the hose up the side of the machine, I install them on forestry equipment on any part that rotates or moves, the look like a small throw out bearing, simple to install even on shafts, I know that stuffer rotates so I know this would work, they come in many sizes, there not cheep but they pay for them self, they start at 22.00 CND, ITS A SPLIT BEARING FOR FAST INSTALL, IF YOU HAVE A natjanal bearing there, you can get them

    • @Dustin_Hruzek
      @Dustin_Hruzek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arnold Romppai you don't know why I use JD but you don't give a reason nit to use it, nor do you know my reasons for using it. South Texas is a whole hell of a big difference that canada. There is no way I would buy your suggested "national" brand. Keep your comments and self in canada.

    • @JCLawn51
      @JCLawn51 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dustin Hruzek the reason why not to use JD brand is because it is a rebranded product and you have markup at each stage. Cheveron use to make the oils for JD. National brand is a bearing company under federal-mogul which also owns moog. If you get a USA made bearing it will be timkin or national.

    • @Dustin_Hruzek
      @Dustin_Hruzek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know JD doesn't make the majority of their raw products. I don't like the cheap alternatives and I don't want to spend the money on Bel-Ray or other big money products. I use maybe a case of grease every year to year and a half. I haven't spent the time to research grease and what is best to use because JD states what to use in their manual and I have other things to spend my time on than finding what "other" grease to use.

    Most of those unhandy grease fittings are the result of accountants not engineer.

    Why don't you make money when you round bale? If you don't make money then why is it necessary to do? Cheers!

      Todd I'm sure he is referring to he don't make money greasing the equipment,, not round bails, that's all I buy is round bails I broke my back years ago an cant lift so the round works best as I can use the forklift boom truck, to set the round bail in the field in winter, summer there on grass only until mid Dec. if we don't get heavy snow, but after that the grass is under 7 feet of snow.. as I raise 3 day old dairy bulls an turn them into steers at 6 weeks, in over 37 years I have never bottle feed any of them, I get them drinking on there own in a few days, some small ones take a week or 2 but not often, check out my vids, the round bails are not cheep, I'm sure for the same money it would be less hay in the square bails tho, an they are 6$ to 6.50 a bail the round I get for 100,00 from 1st cut or 130.00 from 2nd

    The only thing to make a dewalt grease gun better is a lock n lube coupler.

      North Texas Hay you’d like it. I’m like you so I’m pretty serious about having the right tools for the job. They are a little pricy but mine have lasted way longer than the traditional ones I’ve used.
